Thank goodness he's back from holiday today. I'm all for time off but I'm not ashamed to admit as a 42 year old man, that my weekday afternoons feel bad when Zea is not there.
7:06 Re: Striker / Defenders. Back in the day these sort of players were relatively common - Ian Marshall, Chris Sutton, Dion Dublin, Paul Warhurst (later a Defender -> Striker -> Midfielder) and lots of others I forget. Usually in the case of Defenders -> Strikers, they were asked to play up front to act as a temporary makeshift target man but then displayed a nack of scoring (Warhurst, Marshall) while in the case of Strikers -> Defenders they were asked to play in defence as their height helped and then demonstrated a certain nack there too. Most of them changed position while lower league coming up the leagues.
@@albinjohnsson2511 Burak Yılmaz was a winger, and not even during his youth team etc either, he was professional süper lig player in fenerbahçe. Went to Trabzon and emerged most prolific turkish goalscorer ever.
Small national teams/clubs also still have these players. Like former American Samoan player Ramin Ott is a CB/ST and there's one Kazakh player like this in a German Regional league as well
And a lot of times neediness is the key, when there is a lot of injury or players can't play because of yellow and red cards, and they have too much players on other posts,it's also not rare to sub in smebody.
5:50 Don't worry, I forgive you! 😂 And yes, Parma's transfer policy has been pretty bizarre in the latest years, and especially now: their squad would actually be competitive, but it's way too overloaded...
9:00 Look Ma! I made it into a Zealand video. This has made my day! also I did manage to make it out of that group by the skin of my teeth, the Livi european tour continues
The Cb and striker guy is Danzell Gravenberch from de Graafschap, was my topscorer first season but my assistant manager kept putting him cb in the squad advise lol
7:10 - my local club's (AFC Rushden & Diamonds) only former professional, Liam Dolman, matches this exactly. About 5'9, 100kg, CB and CF, he's got technical ability but he's more likely to just smash you into orbit.
"I absolutely love the look of that Italian 16 year old" are genuine words I've uttered in public, after having intake raiding, when on the phone to my pal who we do an online save with (I'm Carlisle, he's Tranmere)... I've had many a dirty look.
I have like over 300 players on loan, which is the main income at the club. I love having players from all the countries I can, then seeing where they are gonna play.
@@langletprolet8378 I hardly had any problems with that. Yeah, sometimes the player wont play (I don't use playing fees in the loans), but that's really like less than 10% of the playes. What I do find REALLY hard is getting players to agree to go on loan to an affiliated club. I don't bother anymore because it's like a 99% chance the player is gonna say no.
Or when you're out all day shopping, going to lunch etc. and most of the time you're thinking of FM. While exploring a rack of clothes, standing in line at post office, sitting at a table in a restaurant eating. "Oh, I can't wait till I get home and fire up FM." Then on the way home, peering out the car window, thinking, "It's close now..." as a smile shimmers at you in the reflection. Then you're home, FM is loading, all is good and proper. Your team appears, their names glowing in the afternoon light. The cursor moves toward Continue and becomes frozen. You suddenly realise you don't want to play. Whyyyyyyyyyyy?????
Swedish league Europa League/Champions League squad registration causes every new signing to have a crying fit because you cannot fit all of them into your couple replacement slots. You are forced to either risk them being mad for half of next season or big clubs eating up all the players before you can sign them.
I have the thing zealand said about going to sleep and waking up thinking about the game with both LoL and FM, two of the most addicting games I've ever known. Working home office its always a challenge to actually work
@3:45 real players start in the bottom non league tier of English football, with finances that are not ok and don't quit until they win the World Club Cup in consecutive years.
First time i played FM and had no idea what i was doing, i picked a near bottom league amateur team, thinking i couldn't possibly mess it up. Saw youth trials, and i went for the top pick. Actually managed to get him, and the game occasionally threw reports at me about how people were surprised i had managed to snag him. Still lost half my games though XD
Liverpool is basically on steroids in this year’s save in how they operate. My save with Wrexham as I’m climbing up the pyramid has them with a front line Mane, Salah and Mbape and they came damn near close to Haaland. Like WTF. Yet somehow my team always puts on a strong showing against them, even won a late pre-season game against them. Now if you ask them to try and beat Norwich on the road despite being able to beat teams like Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Fulham on the way to League Cup win as a league 1 team, fatal error.exe for the whole team in terms of functioning as a unit.
8:03, i think that's a Console Version meme. In the computer version you can demand better training grounds, a new main ground, or better budget when getting resigned.
We should have an option of threaten resigning rather than accepting board demands. To many times have they insisted you play a certain way and the only option is continue, then when I resign they be like "can we get you stay if we give you more transfer money?" "No stop demanding I have to use the same tactics."
Zealand, I hate Maccabi Tel Aviv (I am a Maccabi Haifa fan) but they are absolutely European Group Stage level. They’ve reached the group stage of a European competition in 7 seasons out of the last 11. Then again the group Haifa got this season IRL is much harder than the one shown in 9:08.
Hey I was wondering if you can recreate the formation of leipzig 3-3-2-2, i think its an interesting formation that uses 2 wide cb with a potential cdm who plays as well as RWB/LWB
Zealand...... Maccabi Tel Aviv are in Europe basically every year and we're in the Conference League knockout round this year after we reached the knockouts of the Europa League last season and took it to Shaktar Donetsk, so... Actually we're shit this season, who am I kidding?
I always skip the "HEEELLLOOOOO YOUTUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUBE", its just to annoying, so I feel the neigbours pain. Love the channel tho for multiple years now, hoping to cathing some more streams in 22 but EU time is tough, will do my best!
FOR ONCE I made a meme on Zealands subreddit and it doesn't make the list by 13 upvotes. Just wanted to let y'all know that your sense of humor is disgusting. (Don't take this seriously. Had to chuckle quite a few times watching this.)
Agree. SYS is the best of the lot. Keep up the good work Mr Shannon...
And Sys, means..... LLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOANNNNSSSS

7:09 love the FNG reference

Yeah, not even that unusual today. I have seen teams play their center-backs as strikers at the end of games SO MANY TIMES (Swedish Allsvenskan).

That mid season loss of form meme is WAY too accurate

That "I don't even know who you are" meme is the one I use when some manager mouths off about a supposed "war of words" between us.

Zealand has given rise to a new term, Zeasplaining. The act of telling viewers of his content what he does on his content 🤣
I remember when I trained Ruben Loftus-Cheek to be a Defender/Striker back in my day at FM 17. Those were the days...

SYS needs to be a full-time series. So entertaining

Loved that Valtteri Bottas meme
Traditions
The meme on the thumbnail is so true
The old CB and Striker reminds me of when Spurs had Gary Doherty.
I'm constantly shocked by the quality of your videos and topics covered for FM. But agreed SYS is the one I love the most.
If you haven't seen ST/CB combo at the highest level, you haven't been playing FM long enough
Man, that dude opening the fridge is such a great gif!

The joke at 6:00 is that Parma mostly acquired players via loans, loans, loans...
The best FM youtuber in the planet!
OMG 2 years later here, love the shirt man ❤😏
Lovely shirt mate! 🙏🏻♥️

Man please do a video on Nottingham Forest.
A couple of those memes I saw new and was like oh they are defo in the video this month 😂

My 2 games I'm grinding, fm and rust.
Both about 7k hrs
And zealand does mention rust
5:02 I did that with Jari Litmanen at FC Lahti last year

They have jota, mpappe , haaland, salah , mane and museala in my save with nordgæland
I am digging the beard mr shannon
Even my wife understood the "Hello UA-cam" meme!

7:05 isn’t that biefus a centre back who can play striker for Wolfsburg in the bundesliga
Finally. I made Zealand laugh !
I hired Joe Cole as a coach in the lower leagues of Italy just troll my overly sentimental friend
Didn't Dion Dublin used to play Striker/Defender?
Bargain brand Akinfenwa!?!? 😭😂😂
I've been summoned, reporting for duty Z
Nice jersey Zealand ;)
I've played a few times at the Carmarthen Town pitch
I can only think of one player who could actually play both CB & striker - Daniel Agger
7:14 that's Dion Dublin
The fact zeeland mentioned fng
Hahaha. Zealand "wayyy back in FM19". All those who had Championship Manager 98/99 😬🤣
What's wrong with having 4 teams? You have the first XI, the second XI, the U21 and the U18! A 200 player squad is perfectly reasonable!
Yes yes I have the dankest meme
Bro, we need "Clive" to do the AFCON ASAP before it finishes.
Dion Dublin could play Centre Half as well as Centre Forward back in the day.
Presents Homes under the Hammer now.
7:16 nah Australian u23s at the Olympics played a Cb up front ….
playing a save with Dartford FC, top of the league and we just got drawn against Liverpool in the FA Cup
Finally eating now
Okay, the CB/Striker is not Sunday league... Both Dion Dublin and Chris Sutton were great strikers who also played very well at CB.
Then you have the ST/GK combo...aka the Luis Suarez.
@@loonyloser1733 Wayne Rooney!

or when you are Barcelona and then play against Bayern: "Oh, so that's what a good team looks like..." 🤣🤣🤣
(couldnt resist😬)

Scrolling down the comments to see if I heard him right... he plays Rust!? Another reason for me to like him lol

You play Rust? Nice
I'm italian and i love this type of videos but please it's Parma not Pama
try a carreer at E.Amadora portuguese 2nd division
Do not diss the Striker Central Defender types. Azar Karadas was .... average at both. That's something
Who were the FAC team?
What a jersey, anyone on the back?
