@@GIBBO4182 WCB(l), CB (c), WCB(r), WTM(a), CF(a)/PF(a). It's completely possible to have 5 big lads on defensive set pieces without compromising your tactic. This setup also works well with a lot of what works well in fm, long balls to wtm, multiple aerial threats in the box and good crossers, runs from the midfield (wtm is perhaps the best role to failitate a midfield run into the box. Go regroup and counter, press high and often, pass into space. You'll win a lot of long balls from their keeper by having aerially dominant wcbs, and they should be able to either dump it into space for the winger/striker or lift it to the wtm to hold up the ball. Defensively, you have 5 guys in defense and a strong and hard working front line that can disrupt their play. If they pack the middle with dudes, they still need to get past the defender in cover. Alternatively, you can move the central cb to dmc(d) (and become a 433) to stop a 4231 tactic.
I tend to play more defensively than I think a lot of people do. I'm not great at tactics, though, I just know what I can do and defensive tactics are what come easiest to me. Generally, it's 4 at the back, at least three mids with a DM (On BWM, DLP, or Anchor depending on the player and/or what the team needs) and then whatever works with players I have beyond that. I tend to get big guys for forwards so they can help with set pieces and win with physicality since they aren't getting as much help on offense. I generally regroup instead of counter press (usually have a counter pressing tactic for emergencies). I still play with high lines, though, so if all goes well they are trying to break my defense at mid field so if I get the ball back counters can be deadly.

Best way to avoid midseason slump i ve come up with & kinda works : give every1 (rotatinng) 2 weeks off in januari-februari , then 2 weeks preseason training , then resume normally. Has obvious downsides but i kinda feel my teams better performing when it matters ( looking at you later stages of champions league). For those playing in leagues with a winterstop : GIVE EM REST! Why do you think they ve put those pesky journalists in the english league :" do you think we should have more rest" around Christmass and your aswer options even include something in the lines off : " we re asking too much off our players , this cant go on , we need rest to compete in the later half"

I like to add a sell on clause to low priced players when I can, the buying club doesn't seem to value the clause that highly. You occasionally get the sell clause option for a decent amount of money, significantly more than you are able to negotiate at the time of the sale. Just a nice way to boost finances.

I’ve been told I’ll get a golden gen about 20 times this year, very very rarely happens. That said, sometimes you’ve got highly talented but raw players who need that extra bit of help or game time. I’ve had a golden gen who struggled to develop, I lost faith and sold them and now they are some of the best in the world.. it happens

We’ve had this happen a few times, had a golden generation who once I left all got sold off and now are at the best teams in the world That said, i’m currently at Ajax and you can pretty much always bet you’ll get good youth. In fact, I’d suggest Holland as a amazing league to do youth teams and that as the league is perfect to give youngsters good game time and it’s still a decent league so they can grow quickly! I’d highly recommend the Eridivise
