This was like dancing, I was mesmerized the entire time.
Wow only difference with my run is second phase she keeps doing her million slash sword dance to me at least 3x
I always die to that waterfowl dance at second phase, I just got lucky this time.

@@lordquindecim I was thinking you got extremely lucky when she did'nt use it. But those combos were equally difficult, you kept enough space to be safe and made it.

I'm currently doing an int build, and I wanted to look up a few successful attempts on hard busses to see feasibility, even soloing. Good stuff!
At first I thought you might have just had some great RNG on P2, but your spacing was impeccable and it kept her AI locked into an easily exploitable pattern. You outplayed her perfectly.

I get past the 2nd phase initial attack... never once thought of using Azur Comet at that moment.... adding this to my strategy now 😂😂
Definitely needed to see this, cause this was so graceful. i think my issue is how i try to rush it with big attacks and get caught mid animation

I had 2 people help me with her. But i WISH I could fight her again. Something about this fight it so epic. Although I'm not sure she is one of the demi gods that deserve to die. Too bad I found that out today but killed her 3 weeks ago.😬
Excellent work, though. I used Dark Moon quite a bit on this fight, along with the charged sword.
The ones that deserve to die are the ones that clung so hard to power... so godrick. Radahn deserved it cause he was suffering and needed a warrior's death. Mohg is a blood God, there's no need to delve further into that.

Stars of Ruin FTW. Moonlight sword was merely ornamental, would have double-wielded staffs. Great fight regardless, you made it look very easy for mages who often struggle here. What was your set-up? Talismans? Thanks.
Thank you! I did hit her melee in my hundreds of attempt, even hit her with the weapons skill to build up frost, but I manage to kill her without it. My talismans were Graven-school, Graven-mass, Ragadon Icon and Godfrey Icon. (I'll update the description)

@@ElvisDDG723ll there is definitely close combat Mage builds. Carian slash, magic scaling swords. Throw in some ranged spells and you have a good build going.
@@lordquindecimI just did an INT build and used a mix of ranged and melee combat. It was a lot of fun but I REALLY had to learn Malenia’s moves… lol.

You can do both with dex/int builds. destroy from a distance and close range, the best of both worlds.

You can really see how FromSoft designed the bosses to have more aggro and speed when they're near death. The difference is so obvious in this vid.

Hm, did they buff the magic damage again her? I was pure mage but my damage just wasn't enough. I had to re do my character for a bleed build so i could actually kill her. But this was back when the game first came out. I don't know what changes and updates have happened since. I would like to beat her like this, the way I wanted to instead of feeling forced to change my build.
She cant dodge the Stars of Ruin, so I hope that helps

Just wondering. Did you try using night comet. The raw dps of that spell is crazy plus it’s semi invisible to everything. So they never attempt to dodge it. Just walk towards you slowly and tank the 2500 damage per cast.

@@Harry-Hammond I had a lot more buffs going. Golden vow and howl of shabriri was some of them.
The Spinning Weapon skill on the CRS is a really good get off me move, especially when she does that 4 slash closer move or when she's on the ground. Stack that with Shard of Alexander, Rotten Wing Sword, and the Ranni's Dark Moon debuff, you're laughing!

I SPAM Rennala’s Full Moon with her clothes on and it doesn’t do NEARLY this much damage. And where the hell do I find Stars or Ruin?

kidding aside, If you have rannis hat, it adds 10% more damage when using cold sorceries, which is the full moon.

Just my opinion/personal preference, I like to keep...
Boss Fights: 5 Crimson and the rest for Cerulean (so I can keep on firing spells)
Exploring: 7 Crimson because I can just ran back to grace if I ran out of Cerulean

No opening whatsoever to cast. And some people pretend she isn't a bullshit boss, even tho some builds can't get a hit in for a whole minute.
And the waterfowl dance spam is insane sometimes. I can kill her under 2min in phase 1 with my mage, in those 2min she usually does waterfowl 4 to 6 times it's insane.
i died too many times to the waterfowl, its was getting annoying haha

Still don’t know why they thought water foul dance would be a good boss move to put in Elden ring. That type of move is only good in sekiro. With traditional souls combat, there is simply no good nor fun counter to it. Just sprint and dodge at the correct angles or die

@@lordquindecim downed her last night lol after about 30 tries and 3 respecs lol. .. my issue was not stats but stratergy...i used mimic tear for melee and then switched back to mage, use rock sling 1st phase and comet 2nd .. but i took a few tries just dodging and figuring out her attacks .. was more fun beating than elden beast lol
What makes her such a great boss is that the battle is a sword dance between her and the player. By spending the whole fight running away and casting spells she can't dodge, it defeats the satisfaction of beating her.

... I genuinely hate the Sekiro devs so much, that was a terrible game and it infected a lot of Elden Ring too.
I was really waiting for it, but instead I got another scarlet aeonia (not that I complain though)...plus she really didint let breathe at the end and I was itching to swing that sword, but I know if I do that I'll be dead again 🤣

wow... she really is too vulnerable to range attaks in the second phase!!.. while first phase she is as slow as melases between combos... interesting vulnerabilities... tho any wrong move and is all over with those multyhit attacks.. never an easy fight
This is why I’m getting bored of Elden Ring. The moments when the boss goes on the offensive towards the end and it goes on and on. After so many dodges it spoils the fun
FINALLY a solo sorcery video. So many "guides" that use summons. Total joke. Goes against the very essence of soulsborne, I. E. Overcoming a boss with practice not help. Well done!
