First half was ranni moons and night comets, but ironically enough all I did in phase 2 was two hand the DMGS and bonk her to death. I guess no matter how smart my character gets they will always resort to unga bunga in the end. Thank you so much!

What I did to kill maliketh was summon like ghost knights to keep him distracted while I pelted him with ranni moon and comment along with rock sling sometimes In his second phase when he goes all crazy I used rock sling from far away, ranni moon when he's staggered, I believe in that fight there's like pillars that u can use to ur advantage

Thank you! I did hit her melee in my hundreds of attempt, even hit her with the weapons skill to build up frost, but I manage to kill her without it. My talismans were Graven-school, Graven-mass, Ragadon Icon and Godfrey Icon. (I'll update the description)

Hm, did they buff the magic damage again her? I was pure mage but my damage just wasn't enough. I had to re do my character for a bleed build so i could actually kill her. But this was back when the game first came out. I don't know what changes and updates have happened since. I would like to beat her like this, the way I wanted to instead of feeling forced to change my build.
Just wondering. Did you try using night comet. The raw dps of that spell is crazy plus it’s semi invisible to everything. So they never attempt to dodge it. Just walk towards you slowly and tank the 2500 damage per cast.
Some fire damage would have helped 😊 Redmane Knight Ogha Spirit Ash does a great job whilst you can pelt Malenia with frost - and Night Comet which she can’t dodge.
Just my opinion/personal preference, I like to keep... Boss Fights: 5 Crimson and the rest for Cerulean (so I can keep on firing spells) Exploring: 7 Crimson because I can just ran back to grace if I ran out of Cerulean
I keep rolling back into her flower bomb attack in phase two and get one shot lmao. had the same idea with comet azur though.. Killed her once after she killed me but the game didnt count it.
The Spinning Weapon skill on the CRS is a really good get off me move, especially when she does that 4 slash closer move or when she's on the ground. Stack that with Shard of Alexander, Rotten Wing Sword, and the Ranni's Dark Moon debuff, you're laughing!
Still don’t know why they thought water foul dance would be a good boss move to put in Elden ring. That type of move is only good in sekiro. With traditional souls combat, there is simply no good nor fun counter to it. Just sprint and dodge at the correct angles or die
What makes her such a great boss is that the battle is a sword dance between her and the player. By spending the whole fight running away and casting spells she can't dodge, it defeats the satisfaction of beating her.
I don't know why people say magic is easy mode. This looked difficult like any other style in the game. In some cases harder since katana bros would melt that poor woman long time ago!
on my previous attempts (probably hundreds) I hit her physically when I get the chance especially at phase 1, I just finally beat her without swinging it

You can do both with dex/int builds. destroy from a distance and close range, the best of both worlds.
