  • The video shows train bogie changing at Erlian border station in China after crossing the border from Mongolia on the Trans-Mongolian Railway, running from Moscow to Beijing.
    Russian and Mongolian gauge is 1520 mm, while China, Europe and North America use what is called "Standard gauge" with a width of 1435 mm. The first is installed on 220 000 km of railway lines while the last is laid down on some 720 000 km. Source: Wikipedia

    If this process takes over 4 hours we need *a Harvey house or a shopping centre next to that station
    *A Specialized railway hotel established prior to the dining car

    I absolutely love that they have old style trains still out there. Spain once had these style of trains which I loved until they changed everything to bullet style which is very ugly and cheap looking...Thanks for upload!

    I just found out how to change a bogie like this.. Coz there is no bogie changing in my country..

      well there is for maintenance purposes, it's a lot slower though on a normal rail car lolz.

      They change from 1.435 standard gauge to 1.520 russian gauge.
