What! Kim married him and had his kids she's rich stop the pour me movement for woman. You guys speak of harassment but you never speak about Kris Jenner sexually harassing her bodyguard? You speak on abuse but suddenly it doesn't matter when woman conmit the crime. Your defending a family who made their money on getting a killer off scot free! Haha the irony. Maybe this is carma finding the family. Kim recently called you normal women lazy, fat, it wont be long tell she gets back with west and calls you all haters and racist. I can't wait give ppl time they will show you who they all or. That family never lets you down.

@@maniac50ae14 so there is "scary behavior that is disrupting my life" harassment and there is illegal harassment, the later being a subset of the former. I can't stand any of the Kardashian nonsense. I absolutely detest them to the point where I try to avoid stores that carry their product.
But when he hasn't crossed into the illegal behavior yet, she can't file a restraining order. In fact it's not easy to get restraining orders in California. She has hired a security team, something most women leaving can't do. But I can tell you from experience how terrifying it is to watch someone spiral into unstableness as they harass you. To fear every day that if they do cross that line it won't be a slow decent but a catastrophic action. It will be kidnapping the kids and taking them out of the country. It will be shooting you in the head. It will be burning down your house or lighting your car on fire. All things that have happened to women who chose to leave. Most of the time these behaviors follow concerning but not illegal harassment. And how hard it is to get the police or courts to do anything until it is clearly over the line to illegal harassment.
This isn't about boohoo poor Kim. This is about seeing this happening to someone with resources and using that to build empathy for how hard it can be to get out of a bad relationship.
Ps. I use the examples of heterosexual relationships with male abusers but this happens in all types of romantic and familial relationships with both male and female (and everything in-between) as the abusers.

Anyone that’s read Trevor’s biography knows this hits close to home. His mother was abused and when she finally left his step father shot her in the head (she miraculously survived). But I’m so glad he’s calling out the similarities between the “he won’t let her go” Kim and Kanye situation. It doesn’t have to be “shoot her in the head” for it to be in the same vein of abuse. Trevor is the perfect person to talk on this, I’m so glad he is

“Women are questioned for what is happening to them as opposed to people questioning what is happening to them.”
That just spoke to me on a deep level because that’s exactly what happened to me when I was being harassed and mentally abused. The questions were “did you start it?” & “Why don’t you talk to him?” It felt like an attack when ppl said those things especially in that mental state. I’ve done some healing and definitely gotten that man out of my life but it still left wounds that open up every once and awhile. I’ve been oblivious to what’s been happening to Kim cause I don’t really keep up with celebrity drama. You’re focusing on them, while the focus should also be on Kim who is no victim as well. Why does this woman prey on mentally ill men? Power. It’s always easier to blame the ones who deviate from the social norm, but what about the ones who manipulate those circumstances to push their own self interest?

Men don't get crazier, they get more violent - big difference. Don't minimize. I'm a woman who quit dating because the breakups required relocation, hiding, being stalked, having my head almost slammed into a cement block wall, the ex showing up with a rifle and later physically attacking a male friend,... It makes me sick thinking about it over 30 years later. It's just easier/safer being alone.

DV victim here. What you said was spot on and very much appreciated. I did go to the PD. I did call the PD and was screamed at and told I was wasting their time. I got an OFP over 3 years ago and went through 2 1/2 years of a divorce. I still have to deal with him breaking every court order, every judgement, every everything because he doesn't care in the least bit and will do anything to retain control of me through any means he can from coercion to threats to having his new gf text me nasty threats. It never ever ends. The court didn't believe he was abusive to me despite doctors notes and multiple PTSD/Battered Woman diagnosis from every doctor I was sent to. When will victims be believed? When will abusers power to stalk, harass, and harm victims be taken away? When will the courts see it? When will kids be safe from abusive behaviors of parents? When will women be safe?
I also want to say that no mental health diagnosis is an excuse for poor behavior. You can seek out treatment to manage it with therapy and possibly prescription medications (depends on your needs and doctors suggestion) but it is never an excuse for your poor behavior. Other people with your same diagnosis function and go to work and manage their symptoms every single day so blaming mental health is never an excuse as so much help is available, especially for someone like Kanye when others who are homeless can't get their meds or see a therapist and have no insurance. Poor behavior is poor behavior. Untreated mental health issues when you have the option to see a therapist is your own poor choice to continue to make poor choices.

Yes, I agree that she could protect herself, but that's putting all of the responsibility in her hands and not dealing with the main issue being that someone shouldn't be harassing her. Period. The fact that you grew up in an abusive household taught you to recognized this red flags and I feel like that needs to be teach to everyone. I was charge with DV for pepper spraying my ex because he wouldn’t leave me alone after escaping my own house, and all the police care to asked was if I pepper spray him but not the whole story they didn’t care I had to leave my own house because of his abuse, so thank you for bringing awareness to this because if someone like Kim K can’t get this to stop it just goes to show the rest of us women don’t have much of a chance.

You are so correct Trevor. I was afraid to leave and I did leave. Then I experience the worst four and a half months of my life being stalked, threatened, my car damaged & my house broken into. I was afraid I was going to die. Our daughter was afraid her dad was going to hurt her mom. During the arrest one of the officers asked him " Come on man, you know this isn't right. Why don't you just leave the lady alone?". After his response that officer came immediately to my house to tell me "You need to move someplace far away. Someplace that you have never been because he is not going to stop". I did just as the officer said. I was granted a 10-year restraining order which is unusual. But that officer was right. He is still locked up and still trying to contact me. No it's not for our daughter because she refuses any contact. She later told me if he claimed to love you and treated you like that, what would he do to me. This behavior is not a joke. From the moment I heard about Kim dating Pete and Kanye saying & showing he wants her back this did not sit well with me. Then I heard about the video and I thought she needs protection.

Trevor, oh Trevor, you've got my heart! This is clearly one of your best pieces. I live in Africa. This s**t goes down all the time. Only the man can leave in a marriage. Only he decides when there should be a seperation or divorce. As a woman who runs away from an abusive marriage, you even have your own mother to whom you have run for refuge waking you up in the middle of the night telling you to go back to your husband's homestead while reminding you that she suffered a worse form of abuse from your father. Your father of course would remind you that you no longer have a room in his house. As a matter of fact, women who run back to their families have a special unflattering name in my part of Africa!

I'm glad someone with a platform said something. I just lost my bestfriend on Valentine's day to a mentally ill person that didn't want help. While I don't care for the Kardashian family, Kanye harassing Kim is not cool or funny. I truly fear that someone is going to get hurt.

There are people with mental health issues who don't set people on fire. And that's the line drawn between mentally ill and mentally disturbed people.
There are really those people prone to violence, you know?

@@cosmicrae THIS. Thank you for highlighting the very stark differences between those with mental illness & those who are mentally deranged.
We've had remarkable success decreasing the stigmatization of mental health illness,
thanks to extensive public health campaigns, accurate media portrayals, & public figures discussing their own diagnoses.
I fear some of that progress is jeopardized each time illness is conflated with derangement.
Additionally, stereotypes are wildly misleading. For example: yes, the majority of school shooters have a history of mental illness; *however,* the overwhelming majority of people with mental illness _aren't_ violent or homicidal.

Thank you for this. I was stalked by an ex. Then I was beaten badly enough to be in hospital with internal injuries, on morphine for 10 days. Then stalked some more. I had to rent out my house & disappear to another state for two years, until I learned he’d move to another COUNTRY.
This situation is terrifying, and getting worse. I fear for all of their safety…Kim, Pete and the kids.
Kanye makes videos, ranting to a CAMERA. Not a friend. Not a therapist. He lies about seeing the kids. He’s not only a danger, but he’s got FANS who might do something, unsolicited by him. He needs to STOP.

    • @mymom9466

Someone needs to stop him in a way so that he gets psychiatric help. Even if it is expressive art therapy, What’s being expressed is murderous ideation. It’s not creative, it’s dangerous.

I'm sorry for what you went through. I went through an abusive relationship too, and had 2 kids out of it. I had to flee back to my home country coz it's the only way I could escape it. It's been 11 years, but I still have nightmares of him to this day. I'm not saying that I was completely innocent, I was young and immature, but violence is not the way anyone should respond to another person making mistakes.
I hope you are now well, Lorraine. 💕
