Thank you so much for the history lesson on it! I had no idea NASA developed it for astronauts. I just bought one on Amazon due to my gym being closed during the pandemic and am hoping it can help build up my leg strength after an injury left both of my legs weak from non-use. It would be awesome if you could make a video showing the different exercises you do on it as if we were attending a class with you..because many of us are choosing to do this at home and there aren't many power plate class videos on UA-cam..so you could become a leader in this. Thanks again Gergo and be well! 😉👍

I think this thing is great for seniors in supplementing their exercises. Maybe not super seniors as they might fall off if it's just a stand alone type w/o handles. @UCuXJ0IvvhUjKH6mt2PdSbVg there is a reason why you can't use it with a pacemaker, if you're pregnant or have retina problems. Shaking is not good for organs. Just because you haven't had problems yet, it doesn't mean it's good. But again, if science changed I'm happy to revise this.

    • @lloydshaw6534

I think everyone here needs to understand Vibration Training and Vibration Therapy are two completely different disciplines. I do not know how that is not obvious because you do not go to your physio for a hard-core workout or do you go to the gym for more holistic functional issues. ( like an injury )
Just because it has the word vibration in it, stop getting brain freeze. The same logic applies, it is not magic, it is only a tool and will only work towards a goal if you know what you are doing.

There is fairly compelling research that shows that vibrations, at the G forces produced by the PowerPlate, can be seriously harmful to our bodies. Given that they do pose a risk, there needs to be definitive evidence that there are also significant advantages to using the PowerPlate. So far, all that I have seen are testimonoals and assertions. I appreciate that they can assist in training but I am concerned that the risks FAR outweigh the benefits.

The science of power plate is that you have to engage your muscles. You can't lockout your knees for example as the vibrations just goes through to your body and doesn't work your muscle as I explained in the video.
You can hold a hollow hold on it if you want but I'd just do it on the floor or on a bosu ball. Not worth the risk especially if someone feels bad on the machine in the first place
