Best place for ammo hands down. Love the free shipping for orders over $200. Nice knowing the "out the door" pricing. I look forward to seeing what ammo is packed in these new cans.
been a customer for years......just now saw your channel. Always great prices, great (free) shipping, excellent availability, the best customer service.
I've been buying from SG since they've been online and never had an issue, they have some of the best deals on ammo out there. Sometimes you can catch stuff on sale that you can't pass up hahahha. I might try some of these smaller cans for reloading bullets....the regular .30 cal can get's to heavy and I can't help but fill them up. The crate looks interesting too, maybe I could store primers in those. I put locks on every ammo crate I own even though I know it's just a deterrent, so it's nice seeing the mil-type clasp.
We have shipped empty cans in the past and learned that it is not practical to sell them empty for a number of reasons...since we have to pack and ship, usually with a mix of other products that do not fit together well in a package in a practical and secure way, and the other goods bashing around in transit often damages empty cans, then you get a bunch of angry people that want their cans replaced on a regular basis, this really chips away at what little we would make on the sales, because it costs more to ship the cans than the cost of cans themselves. On top of that, ammo cans are super-bulky and very expensive to ship, the prices would have to be so high on empty cans to cover that cost that shipping costs, it would not be practical from a cost point of view. Additionally it is a huge $$$ & time investment to get these paid for, manufactured and shipped around the world, then stored in valuable warehouse space, if we ended up selling them to make $2 to $5 a can it just would not be worth making the investment in the first place. Shipping them with ammo in the can resolves all of these issues for the most part.
Its just not practical to sell empty cans when you have to pay UPS ground bulky packaging rates to ship them across the country, they would be way too expensive once we build that cost into the price since we are a free shipping store. Plus its a nightmare to pack odd numbers of cans with cases and boxes of ammo ordered at the same time. The only practical way to sell them is with ammo in them, and we pack a number of caliber and product options so that its easy to find something in canisters that fits the needs of most clients
I ONLY get my ammo from SGAmmo: 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC - and looking for new 22 ARC (9mm and 5.56N goes without saying). Great vendor! Keep up the good work.

My pet peeve is when the cardboard cartridge boxes don't fit right in the regular cans. You end up playing a game of Tetris to pack the box and end up only half to three quarters full.
Those are pretty good cans, they seal up tight. They may be foreign made, but so are the ones in Walmart, Academy, Bass Pro, etc. The excellent Harbor Freight .50 and .30 cal cans are made in Vietnam and seal up airtight.
You should set a 30 or 50cal can with a integrated lock point and some foam. Market it specifically as secure gun storage. An ammo can, with a good lock is WAY more secure than nearly every pistol safe, but it being an ammo can, it is specifically not legally considered a secure gunsafe.
Those Chinese M2A1 cans are nice for the price. Tractor Supply had them for $10 before Christmas. Still kicking myself that I didn't buy a lot more. I really like your new flat crates. Very stackable.
Magtech 9A does not fit right in the flat can, only 950 rounds fit, so we have not gone there. We do a 400 round mini can and a 1600 round M2A1 can with that product
They seem pretty hardy, the M19A1 and M2A1 are basically a copy of US military, and I think the flat cans are even more durable due the short lengths of the sheet metal. We have not really torture tested them in any way other than shipping UPS and we have had very few damage claims. UPS always finds a way to occasionally damage something that seems indestructible, so time will tell, but they were able to damage US military cans too.
Been using y’all for years and when I need ammo you’re the first place I go to. Curious if the crate can fit a case of 5.56? Would love to ditch the cardboard for some metal containers or at least grab a few in metal to put in rotation.
A factory full case will not drop in, but depending on the size of the boxes within the case, you may be able to pack up to 1100 rounds in a crate. if the 20rd boxes have trays in them this increases the size of the box and reduces capacity the crate can hold. For example Winchester 223 boxes in with foam trays you may only get 300 rounds in there, but in boxes where its just 20 rounds laying oriented into the cardboard box with no tray, you can get 1100 rounds in the crate
Thanks for being upfront about these being made in China. I won’t buy any ammo cans you’re offering for that reason. I live in a military town and I’m retired military so American 🇺🇸 made ammo cans are plentiful here. Anytime I’ve seen metal ammo cans for sale in retail stores (Walmart, Harbor Freight, Academy Sports, Dunhams, etc.) they’re all made in China 🇨🇳. No Communist ammo cans for me. I support our American economy. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I totally get your point of view, these are the only Chinese made goods we sell since ammo from there is banned. That said, the US manufacturers will not even give us the time of day to talk about selling us cans, the US government gets everything they make and pays top dollar, so military surplus cans are the only US made option and when the government auction company regularly sends a bunch of trashed cans, or cans full of water and rusted inside, or covered in sand and mud in the mix of the shipment with zero recourse for the garbage in the mix that they sold us at full price, it creates a problem where cleaning, painting, restoring ammo cans becomes a huge project that does not fit into the workflow and pushes the project to be done at a loss
@@SGAmmo_LLCI’m not trying to knock you guys for doing what a 2A business needs to do to stay profitable. It’s pretty sad when your only option for ammo cans is to offer a Communist made product to freedom loving Patriotic Americans. That says a lot about Americas current state of affairs. So What would I have to Order to get just the Mini cans ??? Unfortunately you don't carry the .22 Benchrest competition ammo I buy Like Lapua , Tenex , Eley , etc but those cans would be easier for carrying to competitions and sorting by lot number. I'm in Choctaw County , OK.
This is interesting. So long as you can get them at approximately the same sort of prices as the more common mil-spec dimensions, I kinda like it. Shotgun ammo I could see storing better in boxes that way for sure. They are just as stackable, etc?
These are quite interesting. My wall of ammo could use some re-organizing. Well done Sam. As I mentioned to you before in an online conversation and to all the viewers, I discovered SG Ammo thanks to a recommendation from Forgotten Weapons: yes, Gun Jesus himself.
I'd love to buy American made cans, but factories don't really care to sell them to us and only want to supply the US government from what I have seen in recent years. They cannot keep up with military demand and get top $ from the government, so no reason to sell to the commercial market
Neat idea, hopefully other sizes can be available in the future for various things. I'd like to see sizes that are a direct fit for certain things like X amount of cardboard ammo boxes or NVGs.
I am afraid to admit how much ammo I have purchased from SG. My only wish is that the new cans had an extra lip of metal like on the M2A2 cans that would help keep the gasket from crushing.
M2A2 cans are something the factory is working on, we will see those in late 2024. I was going to have the next batch of 50 cal cans done as M2A2's but it would have been a 3 month delay on top of the 3-4 months in normally takes, it adds about 50 cents to the cost of the can, but then you are not limited to stacking 4 to 5 tall like M2A1 cans
Of the new cans, I don't yet have the mid size can. The crate is pretty darn useful. Lot's of sticker space. My favorite is the mini can. It holds enough to be useful but, even full it is not too heavy. It is a steel ammo can in miniature. Great for range trips.
I've been a customer for years. I prefer the regular 50 cal cans. When full of whatever ammo, that size is all you can carry in one hand. So its perfect. I'm hoping things pickup for me. There are a few more things I need to get. Just don't have the cash right now.🤷
Don't know about you, but I can go in to any gun show, shop, pawn shop, even harbor freight, and get surplus or new production cans in good condition for $6-10 each. Maybe it's where I live, but I don't see a shortage of quality cans out there.
Cans in general are not in short supply, we just have no good way to get new condition American made cans. You make a good point that in person you can buy cans at a good price and not have to pay shipping costs or have that cost built into the price, This in part is why we do no sell them empty
We only sell them packed with ammo, its just not practical to sell empty cans when you have to pay UPS ground bulky packaging rates to ship them across the country
Custom is good. Too big cans are not good for back or ruck. Too small is just hassle. Each can should carry two combat loads per cartridge type, on stripper clips.
New gun owner just turned 30 and felt like I need to use my rights with how America is going right now so I’m working on getting proficient and will order 1k rounds tomorrow. I would love to see sourcing from America not just the cheapest labor cost I would pay more for American made….
Like I say in the video, we import them from china, the minimum order of a 40' cargo container which is about 5800 of those cans. I am not aware of a domestic distributor that stocks the cans to sell empty
M19A1 and M2A1 are commonly found all over the place, the other 3 types are less common. That said, they may import them too. Could be worth a look for those who want just the empty cans
Shipping empty cans is one of the more impractical things we have tried, super-bulky, heavy, low cost products results in shipping costs that often exceed the price of the product, plus difficult combinations with other items. I have been telling myself I will never sell empty ammo cans again unless its an effort to just get rid of them and not buy them again. I highly doubt we ever sell these cans empty again. The only situation I see that happening is retirement as part of an exit plan
Even though they are made in China, how is the welds, o ring, lockup, etc? I'm really digging the 3 custom designs. Bummer i have to order ammo to get them, but if that's what it takes then i guess I'm ordering ammo. I remember the old days with cheap shipping of getting a 6 or 8 pack of 30 cal cans in the mail for $19.99.
they seem pretty hardy, well made, we have not had any break that I know of, occasionally UPS can destroy anything so there is always chances of damage in transit but they are good quality from what I have seen so far
That is one thing about the gun industry that sucks. They focus wat to much on government contracts. Yes, I wish they were American made, but if American companies aren't willing to do it, you go somewhere else.
I could have them done in black, brown, sand, green, orange, but its a minimum order of a full 40' cargo container to do stuff like this which is 5700 to 19000 cans depending on the size. IMO getting flat or matte spray paint and you could make them any color you want in about 10 minutes and for a few $ worth of paint
The free shipping over $200 has been one of their best ideas. I like knowing how much my shipping is before I even start purchasing. Been a big fan of this company for years

I've been a customer for years. I prefer the regular 50 cal cans. When full of whatever ammo, that size is all you can carry in one hand. So its perfect. I'm hoping things pickup for me. There are a few more things I need to get. Just don't have the cash right now.🤷
Oklahoma? Pick up at warehouse?
I looked on the web sight and did not find any.
Must be nice. Tractor Supply had a bunch of these for $10. They sold out in a day. Over a hundred by my count.
I can not find it on the website
We only sell them packed with ammo, its just not practical to sell empty cans when you have to pay UPS ground bulky packaging rates to ship them across the country
Gonna take a look.
Cool sizes!!!
Custom is good. Too big cans are not good for back or ruck. Too small is just hassle.
Each can should carry two combat loads per cartridge type, on stripper clips.
OH Look at the mini can! Its a baby! I like it!...
I need ten of those mini ones for my work van for different screws lol
great ammo / I'll buy used U.S. Made ammo cans .
Oh, I got that can you mess with and fingerprints lol.
Definitely have to get a couple small ones!
awesome company and prices..... great bunch of okies
I really like the wide short ones
New gun owner just turned 30 and felt like I need to use my rights with how America is going right now so I’m working on getting proficient and will order 1k rounds tomorrow. I would love to see sourcing from America not just the cheapest labor cost I would pay more for American made….
I like that mini and the large flat one.
How about a 50 cal can that opens on the side, not the end?
I just ordered a case of magtech 1000 rounds. I wish it came with a can😢
unfortunately we can only get 950 rounds of Magtech 9mm in the flat can and we did not like that odd number. We do make a 1600 round option in a M2A1
Would you mind saying where i would be able to find that crate type can you had? I would love that to keep my cleaning stuff in
Like I say in the video, we import them from china, the minimum order of a 40' cargo container which is about 5800 of those cans. I am not aware of a domestic distributor that stocks the cans to sell empty
A lot of these cans are being sold at sporting goods stores and Harbor Freight.
M19A1 and M2A1 are commonly found all over the place, the other 3 types are less common. That said, they may import them too. Could be worth a look for those who want just the empty cans
That largest flat can is sold at Bi-Mart membership stores. I recently bought several on sale for $14.99 plus tax.

Intro music goes hard.
I just want the cans, but I always need ammo. It's a win,win situation.
GOOD DEAL!
Hometown guys good to see here
When you start selling the double latch flat cans alone I will by 10.
Yeah that sucks about the Chinese part.
But I really like the creates.
Got a couple and they work well for me
Even though they are made in China, how is the welds, o ring, lockup, etc?
I'm really digging the 3 custom designs. Bummer i have to order ammo to get them, but if that's what it takes then i guess I'm ordering ammo.
I remember the old days with cheap shipping of getting a 6 or 8 pack of 30 cal cans in the mail for $19.99.
they seem pretty hardy, well made, we have not had any break that I know of, occasionally UPS can destroy anything so there is always chances of damage in transit but they are good quality from what I have seen so far
Years ago..any gun show you could pick up 30 cal cans for $4-5 .
If you didn’t stamp your name into it I would have bought them.
Only on one side. Turn that side to the wall.
That is one thing about the gun industry that sucks. They focus wat to much on government contracts. Yes, I wish they were American made, but if American companies aren't willing to do it, you go somewhere else.
Well look at that, the M2A1 can had a baby😂
Why are you doing this to me... My OCD with ammo boxes is going to be ruined after I get some of those
They are good for about anything they are great for tool 🔧 box
Like the lower profiles, fits under a bed. 👍
We want black ammo cans.
You could have told us at the beginning that U don't sell just the cans and saved a lot of people their Time F!
