I'd rather listen to this than 90% of what is on the radio today.

My fave band of all time. They have had various members but this time period was incredible and I am glad I was part of it. Steve, the guitarist writes almost everything…it is his band. Yes they are together. About to release Womb to Tomb Aug 19 2022!!! Check it out!

The lead guitarist is Steve Blaze. After Lillian broke up he formed a new band with his brother, Craig Nunenmacher(from Crowbar) called Near Life Experience. Heavier band and still great. The bass player with the “slash hat” wasn’t in the band for very long. The singer, Ron Taylor and later bass player in Lillian, Darren Deloitte have a band in Dallas called Lowside. Very cool band, as well. Steve Blaze was also in the reformed band Angel for a while. I think the blonde guitarist in this video passed away a while back.

I am from New Orleans. Went see these guys wherever they were. Then the producer brought in "ringers" from all over. I remember seeing them start out at CYO dances....other band around here at the time were Victorian Blitz and Razor White...whose front man was Phil Anselmo (Pantera). Original singer recently passed. RIP Johnny ....

Great seeing Lillian Axe video. Louisiana shredder guitarist recruited Midwest veteran musicians to form this band. I seen them live every time they appeared in my area. Great band very underated! Seen the core group transforming all the way back to the late 70s. Great memories, thank you for the flashback!

Only Mick Mars can pull off a "slash hat" haha. But yes I remember this awesome jam. I was listening to this and watching Back to the Future 2 and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade that summer. Reminds me very much of Savatage and another very underrated band: Hardline, whose album Double Eclipse rocks harder than granite featuring Neal Schon on guitar.

Just saw your video on Lillian Axe, the band was formed in 1983 which is how long I’ve been a fan. Different band members through the years, yes still very much together, 10 albums I believe later and working on a new album which should be out this summer. I’ve seen them hundreds of times, they kick ass live seeing them in person. Go look at their videos on UA-cam.

I saw them in Knoxville back in 1988. They opened for Stryper who had been touring with White Lion up to that point. Lillian Axe was really good. I remember their guitar player playing behind his back. Very talented!

Shane, saw these guys many, many times down in Texas. They would play there and Louisiana all the time. The singer Ron Taylor and the blonde guitarist Jon Ster (passed away) and the "Slash" guy were in a band called Stiff. I saw them open for Twisted Sister when TS were still doing clubs just before they broke big. Years later im doing a club show and im watching Lillian Axe and Im thinking Ive seen these guys before...of course it was the old Stiff boys, with an amazing new guitarist Stevie Blaze.. Many great nights of rock watching those guys.. Had a good following of woman, which made for a better night.. If had to pick a song - All's Fair in Love and War. However, many great rockers and ballads all through the catalogue. Stopped following them after singer Ron Taylor left along with other members.

Guns - Cocked and Loaded, Faith No More- The Real Thing, Skid Row-self titled, Tesla - The Great Radio Controversy, Warrant-D.R.F.S.R, etc.......Damn that was a great year!

Always loved this band. Lowside is in Dallas. Ron Taylor is still the best singer around. Darrin DeLatte is on guitar and on bass is the guy that played with Vinnie and Dime in Damageplan, then with Vinnie in Hellyeah- the great Bobzilla! Lowside kicks ass. Heavier than Lillian…check them out!!

The guy "dressed like slash" .... sorry you can't gate keep sunglasses when Rob Stratton (bassist lillian axe) was wearing that years before slash in the previous band Stiff (best known track in the 80s "my number"). His name is Rob Stratton and they got "STIFF" back together in 2023 single to checkout "Mrs. AMERICA.
CALLING Rob out for wearing sunglasses & a hat because you think that's Slashes MO.... comes off pretty comical since that was Robs style since early 80s lol.
Thanks for the review though gave Rob and I A LAUGH!!

The tail end of the " glam metal era" 89 to 91ish is when the best bands actually surfaced. They dropped the really made up glammy image shit and had much more riffcentric heavy rock songs. This is a great example . Do von groove - once is not enough.
