So they got rid of one of the most respected Directors/Writer at the time and replaced him with some dude who had no idea what he was doing... Seems Legit
Of course it does. KaCHING $$$$$ always makes sense when it comes to TV. It's the number one driving force for any entertainment executives and producers.
Frank didn't know what he was doing either. He wanted the zombies to evolve and start using guns. Yes I'm happy he got fired not happy that they hired a dude who just turned TWD into a soap opera tho
Season 2 essentially started something that we Telltale game fans call "The Teleporting Dead." Need an action scene and there are no bad dudes? BOOM sudden walkers!!!
There’s a theory that the entire walking dead cast is going slowly deaf cuz of the gunshots and no ear protection. Thus they cannot hear the zombies sneaking up in them in later and later seasons
30 minutes ago I didn't know who Frank Darabont is. Now I actually have a lot of respect for him. That look on his face in that Comicon panel is the most depressing thing I've seen in a while. The look of a man who knows that his baby is about to be taken away for literally no reason but has to sell it anyway.
I honestly didn't know ANYTHING about this show, aside from what you would generally know through osmosis. I still feel terrible about the main director being canned.
Squiddy 0912 "Through osmosis." I think that's a really unique way to describe the flow of random knowledge you can attain through just general culture.
The correct term would be diffusion. Osmosis is the diffusion of water through a membrane. Diffusion is a general term describing the spread of something, either exponentially or otherwise.
DAYUM, What an outcome! 10 years since this bullshit and he came out two hundred million dollars richer! He deserves it after they stole the show from him!
I wasn't aware of the director switch and budget cuts. Suddenly all my gripes with this show make sense. I found my self either bored stupid or just annoyed after the first season.
This is still one of my favorite YMS reviews He's so good at research and covering his bases with supplemental material Also love the interviews with Deacon St John/Starkiller about the behind the scenes crap with darabont and AMC, he's a super chill guy
As Adam points out, the most important takeaway from this is that AMC was ultimately right to fire Darabont and strip the show clean of any artistic value, because people still fucking watched it. There's no lesson for AMC to learn. We got the television series we deserved.
You know what's even sadder? After Frank was fired some of the cast went up to him and asked what they could do. Some of them wanted to leave the show to protest against AMC's decision. But Frank told them no. He told them to just continue to do their job and keep the show going. He didn't want his absence to risk his cast member's livelihood. F*ck AMC.
SuperQuail no most just like what they see your intelligence isn’t high or low because you enjoy different things, even if you think the shows bad it’s still entertaining and bingable to a lot of people
I always get bugged by everyone is going around in tee shirts and and what not. Try to bite through, in Ernest, a simple hoody, let alone a denim, leather, or winter jacket. If you struggle to open a bag of potato chips in life, then, your aren't going to be able to rip someone apart with your rotting, muscle atrophied jaws. Seriously, how come no one realizes that they couldn't bite through heavy clothing and so just ad more layers, or add material on to make simple armor.
I’m pretty sure at the beginning of the comics when Rick and Glenn go to the gun store in the city, a walker bites Rick and he survives because he was wearing a leather jacket.
Robot Jones They promoted the hell out of the Walking Dead, meaning they kinda fucked over the advertising for several of their other shows. Especially Hell on Wheels, a fucking spectacular show that AMC never promoted to the levels that they did The Walking Dead. But I guess Zombies are more popular
Part of me wishes that YMS would cover the current state of the Walking Dead. At least the show was competent back then, now it's completely unrecognizable.
negans entrance and first few of his episodes gave the show an entirely different feel and atmosphere to it, but I'm just biased maybe for liking negan so much. but it just didn't feel like how it was when I first watched it. like all hope was lost, how the fuck is the group going to recover? I don't know, but I stuck with TWD and waiting for the last two seasons and movies. I can't wait to see negan develop more tbh.
@@kiwi3310 Not gonna lie, the character of Negan and his entrance was far more intimidating and memorable than that of the Governor, even though his role in the series turned off most of its fanbase.
Seasons 1,3, and 4 were the best. And seasons 3&4 could’ve been even better if frank was still on. Didn’t like how dale and Andrea were killed off so early.
I hate how a lot of Walking Dead fans call Frank Darabont greedy and a bad director which is so fucking insulting. Frank made fucking Shawshank Redemption, my favorite movie of all time and rewatching season 1 a few years ago was so weird. The Cinematography was really good and the production values were amazing, why the fuck did AMC have to ruin it? People diss the Season 1 zombies which annoys me. I loved the season 1 zombies because they were fucking terrifying and I could totally see how someone could get overwhelmed by just a few of them. They could shamble after you a jogging pace forever, they never tire, they could grab weapons to use against you, and they were tons of them. Like I would not want to go up against the season 1 zombies. After that though, the zombies were absolutely no threat. They're super slow so all you have to do is kite a whole bunch of them and you could take out a whole group if you were patient.
Well fortunately, the comic is still strong. It's ashame Frank wasn't able to make Robert's version come to life, thanks to AMC's dumb shit. Worst of all, most fans don't even read the comics.
Darren Lubega he wanted more money, company said no, he said bye. I don’t get why they said no, later seasons him, and Reedus pretty much carried the damn show
I always actually laughed when that girl in the camper van gets killed (I forget her name) because think of it you are looking at Almost *EVERYONE* around a campfire then you see a living corpse pop around the corner but na you don't flinch you just stare while it takes 3 seconds to even start getting close for a bite. smh
If we’re going to talk about how zombies can somehow overtake a horse... let’s not talk about how even less zombies than the in the horse scene manage to overtake a full grown tiger last season...
Gotta remember, zombies are falling apart. All the banging and scratching they do tears the skin and muscle apart and you have sharp boney finger weapons in critters that can be about 30 percent stronger than a normal human due to zero pain limiter. Plus there's magical/radiation/super science behind it all. Radiation is the cause of the zombies, and when you have sweet magicy super sciency mutaton stuff explanations just get dumb.
@@gmork1090 I dont remember them ever explaining that the zombies were caused by radiation. Its a disease everyone has that only goes out of dormancy when the person dies or is bitten. There arent any special kinds of zombies in the show or comics.
While I do like the show, it would have been so much better had Frank not been fucked over. Oh, also if HBO had accepted it. They turned it down because they didn't think it would make it big. Oh how wrong they were. But anyway if HBO was the network, Frank would either still be on the show today, or he would've left on good terms, the budget would be much bigger, and we'd see more like 10-13 episodes a season, as opposed to the usual 16 episodes we get. That would mean better pacing, a grander scale, much more vulgarity (which is how it's supposed to be), and better writing.
NOOO they didn't go with HBO cuz they wouldn't allow any serve blood and gore so then the show would suck that's why they went with AMC trust me it was a better choice
I hope you're joking Xpert. You know we're talking about the channel that gave us Game of Thrones, The Pacific, and Band of Brothers right? Also HBO plays hardcore and softcore porn at really late hours.
I came from his newest video and expected the 10 years difference to be more jarring. But he sounds the exact same, editing is tight and memes are dank as ever. Amazing
@High Definition it is a tactic too often used by shitty writers. it literally doesn;t matter if the entire story is shit as long as the end of the episode ends on a cliffhanger that makes people think that the next episode will finally give them the satisfaction theyve been waiting for.
Frank Darabont: "If we're gonna veer away from Kirkman's material, how do we do it intelligently, respectfully, and in a way were we can veer back to it when we need to?" Scott Gimple: *Kills off Carl* Yeah fuck this show.
i fell off when they killed glenn after forcing myself to get past season 5, and thank GOD i did bc it looks like a shit show from then on. obviously it was always a shit show but it just went down down down from there. its interesting to see fans reacting still, like 'oh, i dodged a bullet i see!' i knew when carl was dead and rick was dead there was just no saving it.
We're about to enter the 7th season of the show, and yet, after all this time, the surviving characters never utilize the idea of covering themselves with zombie guts until the poop REALLY starts to hit the fan. For instance: In the Season 6 episode, "Thank You", there's a part where the characters are sheltered inside a pet store by an incoming zombie horde. There were two walkers inside the building, which Michonne easily dispatched. You'd think the characters would mutilate the corpses to get of the area safely get out of that town and accomplish their mission. Nope. That would've been too easy.
Cuz that's actually pretty fucking dangerous that walker blood gets in any of ur cuts or ur mouth or ears or eyes, you're fucking fucked! So they don't do it that often for that reason
+Xpertfusion Naturally, I would agree with you. However, as I've noticed since Season 5, there have been numerous instances in which the characters would get Walker blood in their system, and yet they remain human to this day. For example: Abraham's stitches on his wrist opened up while he was killing a Walker horde; Walker blood was all over his hand, and nothing happened to him. In "Thank You", Rick sliced his hand on a blade that had been embedded in a Walker's skull. Alas! Rick is still human today. And soon, in the coming season, we will be introduced to a tiger that is apparently kept alive by eating Walker guts. Now, we can assume that maybe the virus can't affect the wildlife and insects, but you would think that that tiger would feel at least a LITTLE sick from eating these things. You see what I mean?
+Nathaniel Wash Yes, they did. In Season 2, there was an episode where the group struggled to remove a Walker from a well. They wouldn't even risk drinking from the well, and they feared what the Walker was "doing to the water". In the process of retrieving it, the Walker was killed and its guts were spilled into the well. After that, the group had no choice but to "seal off" the well. So, since the characters were too squeamish to drink water lathered with Walker blood, that should imply that they thought the blood was capable of contaminating a person. But as we've seen recently, the blood doesn't seem to affect people at all.
@@donovandelozier7156 Force Awakens made the most money of any Star Wars movie. By your theory, it's the best one? And Avatar is the greatest film ever made?
still mad they killed tdog at the prison, swapped for the black prisoner, who when killed vs the governor is replaced by black tyrese, who dies and is replaced by the black dude who was friends with beth when she died, and when that dude dies without reason shortly after, black stickman from episode one joins the crew again - who was the black guy character before tdog... black guy doesnt die first, but is always position filled for that diversity hire...
Wow, I never realized that until now. I actually even considered TWD to have a pretty high representation of afro-americans without forcing any diversity moves. But some of these deaths and group joins do come in close succession.
It sucks because I genuinely liked T-Dog. He was a likeable dumbass and his death was pretty respectable. For his character, not the producers of the show.
I might have. I quit consistently watching after the finale of season three, and I've only caught random episodes from there, but I just can't, even out of pure self-hatred, convince myself to keep watching the episodes I've stumbled upon
+Ceorai I highly recommend you watch seasons four through six, and see if season seven is any good when it finally premieres. In my opinion, the show progressively improved after season two ended. Even if season three wasn't that great, it was a marked improvement over the crap AMC gave us the previous year. And the show just gradually increased in quality across the board with every consecutive season. You may not think that the newer seasons (four-six) are anything special, but I do believe that it would be worth your time to see how the show managed to move on from the cesspool that was season two. And, of course, wait for what season 7 has to offer. With the introduction of Negan (who is widely considered to be one of the comics' best antagonists and characters in general), and the stellar performance from Jeffery Dean Morgan (even if it was only about ten minutes), it is heavily implied that season seven is gonna throw a few fastballs (pun intended) our way.
@@mocacola Yup and I almost gave up on the show during Season 2. In retrospect, I shouldn't have come back to the show, but Season 3 hooked me in and gave me hope that the Walking Dead wasn't a waste of time. Haven't even bothered watching Season 9, what's the point?
tried reading the book and couldn’t even get like 20 pages in. I was so fucking bored even when there were zombies that I wondered how bad the original Pride and Prejudice was.
@@somegal-89 I honestly wonder what it's like reading it, if there's more than the surface level joke. Either way, I can't imagine that being the starting point for someone's first reading of Pride and Prejudice. Or any Jane Austen for that matter.
@@anyalaASMR The original is brilliant. Have never watched Pride and Prejudice with Zombies or whatever but the original is one of my favourite books of all time. You just have to go in knowing what Jane Austen is about and not expecting some super big twist with murder or supernatural beings lol. She is all about the wit in dialogue, sarcasm, clever plot points and it is mostly executed through posh, rich British people and their romances
See, the actual universe of The Walking Dead has a lot to offer, if the right people were behind it, the show could be something actually special. The video games are just further evidence for this, the first video game by Telltale Games was focused on a group of interesting characters and their struggles, it was gripping, had plenty of disturbing moments, it wasn't perfect but it just shows you can do a lot more with the universe of TWD than this bullshit.
Well they also pulled a lot of the budget away from the show. Frank could only do so much but I think he would have walked away eventually. The show is complete and utter trash now and sadly so many people are still raving fans.
I did. It was...painful. The special effects were horrible (especially the part where the walker was biting the guy's face), the zombie actors were extremely uninspired and laughable at points. It was a mess. Now that the Negan arc is coming I doubt they will do it justice. also they will be past the comics after this season which means there will be a lot of filler to slow the pace down.
One thing I'm still waiting to see from season 3, was something the governors "science" dude said, that the zombies do starve, just slower than normal humans, and all end up starving to death. Sooooo, won't many of them then start starving to death about where they are now? Sure there's new ones, but from what I've gathered from the first seasons is that like 90% or more of the world was affected within a short amount of time, like weeks or months. So why isn't most of the zombies dead by now? We do see them acknowledging this with the title card being more and more decayed each season, and the zombies also being more and more decayed. It just seems lkkemthry forgot that they said that they can starve to death. Plus, with how decayed they are in season 4+, how much brain can even be left by then?
@@padmesyt And that if they eat they must excrete. Those of them wearing trousers would be carrying a couple of hundred pounds of shit around with them.
I know this is a very old video but I’m a new subscriber and this is what turned me onto you channel. I would actually love for you to cover the other seasons, especially given what’s happened of late...
Sam Witwer’s interview actually kind of tugs at my heart because you can see the clear passion and respect he had for Frank’s ideas and how pissed off he is at how horribly AMC screwed him over
I cannot believe they FIRED the director behind "The Shawshank Redemption" the movie that is currently number one on IMDb's top 250, for a guy who's made fucking nothing.
The "constant headshots" would be so much more tolerable if they were using shotguns. Aim vaguely in the direction of the head, and a few pellets'll probably hit it.
Plus you can load a shotgun shell with basically anything as ammo. So long as you got powder behind it, you can make a zombie killing shell with nails, pebbles, glass, or whatever other junk.
You are applying video game logic. For balance reasons shotguns are given super short range but in real life they are much more accurate and have much tighter pallet grouping then video games would have you believe. A 12 gauge birdshot still has lethal tight pallet grouping up to 50 - 60 yards.
@@daguy67 You can't just hold a gun any way you want and expect to actually hit what you're aiming at. Holding your gun aiming slightly down means you either hold your hand at an angle, or loosen your grip on your gun so it aims down. He isn't loosing his grip, so he is aiming it down on purpose. This aiming down means he can't line up his sights, and so can't aim properly, and when your target is always the head, then not aiming properly is a terrible disadvantage.
@@daguy67 Also, the type of hand gun (and the police training he received) would mean he would use both hands in a cup and saucer grip to aim the gun, thus giving him the needed brace to aim and fire his gun effectively. The only reason Andrew Lincoln adopted that pose is because he had no fire arms experience and no one corrected him on it. He felt the gun was heavy and so assumed it would have a high recoil (which in his defense it would) and so aimed it down to counteract said recoil. While this is (on paper) a realativly good idea, for someone who doesn't know how guns work, it (in practice) would make you miss more shots and have to fire slower.

I think all the cast interviews were cringy. I thought Andrea's actress was worse. They're trying to give depth to characters they know nothing about and don't give a shit about. There are certain actors that can get inside their characters and give depth to them better than the writers sometimes. None of these people are that.
In my opinion season one was the only good season. Here's how the show went. Season one: hey so the government's gone and nobody knows how this happened or what it even is. (Me) "ok so the show is about finding out what the zombie virus is and if it can be cured." Season 2: hey here's a farm lets waste a season here. Season 3: hey here's a prison let's waste a season here. Season 4: here is a guy we all know is evil but he's fooling all these people to think he's good.
Ur fucking dumb, u probably haven't read the comics then, the show isn't about finding a cure cuz that's just cliche as fuck, this show is about SURVIVAL, seeing these amazing characters try and survive in horrible conditions. That's the show, they come across bad people every now and then and they have to relocate, and along the way people die. That is the show not some dumb ass cure bullshit which the show wasn't going for that route at all
No need to be rude. You're right I've never seen the comics but still you have to admit that sitting around a farm looking for one unimportant little girl is a boring story line. I dont just dislike it because it's not about finding a cure. I loved the show Jericho which was about a nuclear war.
the thing i like about the series is the awesome makeup of the zombies, I absolutely HATE cgi zombies and seeing just some amazing makeup is so refreshing.
Their responses are usually very stilted and you can tell they absolutely have to market it positively and force themselves to say things they don't really believe
It feels like all these things that they're saying are from the materials that the writers provide to the actors as motivation or character background? We expect explorations of characters to be based on their role in the narrative, or their motivation in terms of how the audience would identify with it, and I guess they do touch on motivation, but this stuff all sounds much more like the kind of things an actor would need to know how to act out scenes, and it doesn't quite make sense or sound right to us as an audience.
I think it's a bit of a Catch-22 situation with these interviews: if the TV show is badly written, or full of plot inconsistencies (the Walking Dead) then the actors' explanations of their characters sound dishonest at worst, and just really shallow at best. But if it's a well-written show (Breaking Bad) then the actors are explaining things thatany audience member with half a brain was already able to pick up from subtext, so it's the TV equivalent of explaining a well-received joke after you've already told it. Mad Men is one rare example of a TV show where I don't find this annoying, because the character motivations in Mad Men are so vague and open to multiple interpretations at times that you get the impression the stuff the actors are saying is only one possible interpretation.
That basically sums up the pretentious talk show after each episode of this offensively dark exploitation horror show that takes itself way too seriously, AKA Circlejerking.
Yeah, there's basically a studio exec there with a blurb some white-collar think machine came up with that their research says will "land" with the tatget demographic. Then it's just a case of who they can get to say it. The most sycophantic will generally be the ones that say the stuff that grates on your ear because they'll willingly fall in line and read the thing no normal person would ever come up with. The soundbites that aren't audibly jarring are generally given off the cuff by people who don't want to be a company mouthpiece (and have integrity). My best friend is a boom operator and man have I heard some stories.
I tried getting into it at the start of an episode from I think season 3 (it was the season they were looking for the cdc and I don't know the seasons and their plots) but I just couldn't get into it. It just seemed so slow and cliche because someone got stabbed on a fence.
There has not been a better season since season 1, and season 2 was pretty good then it has went downhill ever since even though there has been some good episodes once in a while.
Has anyone else watching the Walking Dead noticed that Rick's line of sight and line of aim almost never, well, *line up*? How does this guy hit the broad side of a barn, let alone get endless headshots?
I didn't like how in the first season they made a big deal out of "not getting it on your eyes or skin" but then later you see people stabbing them in the throat a centimeter away from their faces.
You know what I love? I don't agree 100% with this reviews I loved season 1 and the first half of 2 was shit but I enjoyed the second half. I really like the show but these reviews are so funny and insightful I can watch them over and over again without getting salty over it. I can respect his ability to recognize shit I wouldn't have thought of after 20 watches of the show and his knowledge of movies and TV. These reviews are always super interesting on top of being funny
The Last Methbender knit picking is something that is hard for me to watch constantly. But as a fan of the show, I have to say I never knew about any of this shit that went on. I do enjoy the walking dead still to this day, because I don't watch it for action per say, I like the world building and the slow pace. But hard to accept it could be 10 times better if frank hadn't been fired. It irritates me, after I'm done with walking dead, I'll never watch another amc series again. EVER!
I know this is an old video and Im rewatching it, but fuck every time in any of your videos you have the mario coin sound mixed with a yell when someone gets shot is fucking hilarious and never gets old lol
6:10 "Our daddy taught us not to be ashamed of our dicks..." EDIT: Holy shit, I was totally justified in not watching any of The Walking Dead past the first season.
Something I really appreciate about Kirkman is that he accepts when his work is altered for film or TV. A common trend with many adaptations like that is that the original authors and creators hate new material. Roald Dahl hated Willy Wonka because it wasn't exactly how he wrote it, for example. Kirkman is just a good example of how authors should treat adaptations of the work so many people enjoy.
what would have been cool is if a few of the walked broke with own arms and hands off while trying to rip into the horse. Have them not even notice it, showing you can't defeat them with fear of pain or harm, making them even scarier.
Beyond Phere This is such a brilliant idea. I would’ve liked to see a couple trying to rip into it with their teeth, then maybe I would have been a little more scared of the walkers than I was pissed off at the characters.
personal opinions, there are enough people that like the walking dead still. it doesnt suck, i watched it all. alot of people that say it sucks stopped watching after season 3 or so. retarded
+Dylan Nguyen but the things he points out aren't even flaws and no he's basically saying this show sucks and is overrated which isn't true it's one of the most watched tv series as of right now
Xpertfusion I know that he might hate the show but I'm saying just because he hates it doesn't mean he wants other people to hate it. He is just stating that he THINKS the show is overated and giving some points. Yes I will say that it's one of the most watched movies but you have to admit the season where the group stays at the farm was terrible because it was so slow. I personal like TWD but the points YMS pointed out brought some points to my eye. But I never knew that the director of the show was fired. The one that directed season one which was a dick move. Now I'm not saying TWD is overated I think it's cool. Wow long reply
Each interpretation does zombie strength and durability differently But the logic used to justify it is that human beings restrain their total strength unconsciously because our body doesn't want to harm itself. Like Adam said, humans might be strong enough to mutilate a horse with their bare hands... but ud break every bone in ur hand in order to do it. Zombies dont have this innate limitation so they use a full range of human strength. I cant explain the bones not breaking but thats why zombies r strong
Dominick DiBart Their muscles are rotting and falling apart. It’s a miracle they can even move, no matter how much of their muscle strength their using. It’s sci-fi for a reason. Anywho, a zombie apocalypse could not happen, since the would be too weak to do much. 1 nut with a shotgun could survive it.
I had completely forgotten about that zombie bashing the glass door with a rock. The directors are way more consistent with the zombie capapbilities in the future seasons; the zombies aren't supposed to be smart enough to use tools like that.
Tarantulord - since most of the time are they not smart enough to use rocks, including in later Romero films, if I remember right. Yeah, they did in Night of the Living Dead, but most zombie properties since then have omitted that, and I think TWD of today more closely follows the "generic" zombie than any cut-and-dry director's style of zombie. Though I think running zombies who swung rocks might have been an interesting idea, I personally prefer the zombies that stop being a threat after a couple seasons. It's more in line with the comic book, where the zombies become more of a backdrop.
Probably because I really...really! thought that this was a scene of beauty in this crappy world. ...and I fell for it. Hook, line, and *BANNGGGGggg* sinker.
I remember being in love with all things zombies since I watched dawn of the dead(2004) and played waw zombies. This show came on and it was amazing, cant believe it's been 10yrs since it started. Not going to lie I stopped watching about 4yrs ago. I was so invested in the characters and the show, then just dropped it all together. Call it fatigue, I call it crappy storytelling over the years.
YES! Dawn of the dead, Resident evil series (although only the first 2-3 are any good) and Night of the living dead (1968) were the big forces in me loving the zombie genre. Tbh I actually liked TWD until season 4-5, they were passible but only because of a few characters (Rick, Daryl and Glenn until he died and Carol) but season 6 is were I couldn't take it anymore as the show seemed to have lost any and all direction and the characters just seemed all over the damn place.
@@shookyshooky6407 I think I only made it into the second season before I called it quits. The correct term would be diffusion.

Just in: AMC settled with Frank Darabont for $200 MILLION. Glad that he finally has seen some justice after over a decade

The lesson is that most audiences are stupid
You know what's even sadder? After Frank was fired some of the cast went up to him and asked what they could do. Some of them wanted to leave the show to protest against AMC's decision.
Darabont leaving was the worst thing to happen to the show.
Well fortunately, the comic is still strong. It's ashame Frank wasn't able to make Robert's version come to life, thanks to AMC's dumb shit. Worst of all, most fans don't even read the comics.

We're about to enter the 7th season of the show, and yet, after all this time, the surviving characters never utilize the idea of covering themselves with zombie guts until the poop REALLY starts to hit the fan. For instance:
In the Season 6 episode, "Thank You", there's a part where the characters are sheltered inside a pet store by an incoming zombie horde.
For example:
Abraham's stitches on his wrist opened up while he was killing a Walker horde; Walker blood was all over his hand, and nothing happened to him.
You see what I mean?
i haven't seen the show in years but did they ever state that?

Season 5's first episode was decent. Then it dropped the ball faster than a toddler with ADHD.
The newest season is something. It seems to be getting better since there's an actual threat to the previous impenetrable main characters.

I loved the show Jericho which was about a nuclear war.
season 1 was the best
the thing i like about the series is the awesome makeup of the zombies, I absolutely HATE cgi zombies and seeing just some amazing makeup is so refreshing.
I just wish more of that makeup money went toward hiring competent writers.
Naked CrocCap38 Why? AMC would just fire them.
no fucking way that happened, after rewatching twd for the 3 time it makes so much goddamm sense. jesus christ, i feel so bad for the director man
He just won a lawsuit against AMC and was awarded 200 mill
There's something really annoying about interviews of the actors and actresses of mainstream TV shows that I can't really figure out
Their responses are usually very stilted and you can tell they absolutely have to market it positively and force themselves to say things they don't really believe
My friend tried to get me into this show by showing parts of season 2... yep.
I tried getting into it at the start of an episode from I think season 3 (it was the season they were looking for the cdc and I don't know the seasons and their plots) but I just couldn't get into it. It just seemed so slow and cliche because someone got stabbed on a fence.
...geeeez. I don't like The Walking Dead, at all, but damn if this video didn't give me some respect for it. Fuck AMC.
This dude is talking out of his ass, the newer seasons are amazing
+Xpertfusion k
+Xpertfusion I'm pretty sure YOU'RE talking out of your ass. Get some standards in your life
+MNIMnoob how, lol I'm enjoying a show that I watch when y'all are just complaining that's not how u should live ur life
There has not been a better season since season 1, and season 2 was pretty good then it has went downhill ever since even though there has been some good episodes once in a while.
The first season, comics, and TellTale games are amazing
I’m glad my attention was more on the games rather than the show. Dodged a bullet there
I love seasons 1 & 3, the comic and the game
Telltale's ending to Season 1 still fucks me up.

You should review American horror story that would be amazing
Twizzler Swizzler but that show is kind of good because it’s cheesy and bad. That’s why most fans like it
sloppy ploppy porridge world “cheesy and bad”?
Has anyone else watching the Walking Dead noticed that Rick's line of sight and line of aim almost never, well, *line up*? How does this guy hit the broad side of a barn, let alone get endless headshots?
Daniel Hettinger The actor is British. We have little actual experience of guns over here.
Daniel Hettinger He has Aimbot.
Twistid Hah!
Twistid and his sensitivity is on insane mode
I didn't like how in the first season they made a big deal out of "not getting it on your eyes or skin" but then later you see people stabbing them in the throat a centimeter away from their faces.
i always figured that the reason they stopped caring was cause they found out that they were already infected
fidel garcia In the show it said that getting bitten would make you get a fever and die and all that other stuff, so logically blood would apply too.
Qualimer yea i remember that but i just figured they wouldn't care now
they brought it back in one of the newer seasons; Gabriel got some kind of infection, I think? And his eyes got messed up
Omg that cut you did with the shovel was fabulous, I'm still dying.
10/10 lmao
EVER!
I enjoy the behind-the-scenes breakdowns more than the film/tv critiques themselves. Very entertaining little documentaries in a way.
we just not gonna mention how morgans wife was the only zombie to ever twist a doorknob in this series
First Season: starts with a solid episode, with minor flaws.
Second Season: ...starts with a huge plot hole.
Me: wait... how did this get popular?!
Lori complains about Rick not arguing with her, but then complains when he argued with her.
Womens...
If she was intentionally written that way to an unlikable and fickle woman then that’s great, but I don’t think it is
Perfectly sums up women
I know this is an old video and Im rewatching it, but fuck every time in any of your videos you have the mario coin sound mixed with a yell when someone gets shot is fucking hilarious and never gets old lol
Mr.Tryhardguitarguy it's master chief death sounds from halo combat evolved
Season 1 was by far the best season, but I'm being honest, when they found Sofia in the barn in season 2 was absolutely heartbreaking.
It was heartbreaking, but needed to be sooner. The episodes at the farm house are so boring.
@@HMSTR1995and let's be serious. As soon as there's even a mention of the barn, many of us thought "oh shit she's in there"
This is like seeing Leonardo da Vinci paint the Mona Lisa and then asking Leonardo the ninja turtle to paint the last supper with half the paint.

"Our daddy taught us not to be ashamed of our dicks..."
EDIT: Holy shit, I was totally justified in not watching any of The Walking Dead past the first season.
Where's that from?
lopenash Some gay porn that I see people use clips from every once in a while.
So have I, I thought you might know what it is.
lopenash Just googled it, apparently it's from a movie called Boy Band.
But the show got a lot better after season 2...
Considering Shane impregnated Laurie, maybe "like a brother" isn't the best choice of words there? I know this show is set in the south, but come on.
Comic books were great. I like reading/watching for the thrill of “what would I do in these situations.” I’m sure someone does that too
Something I really appreciate about Kirkman is that he accepts when his work is altered for film or TV.
That is such a cool idea!
oh yeah lets spend thousands on a detail that no one will notice and adds nothing to the plot

Matt Deezly But the walking dead still sucks.
personal opinions, there are enough people that like the walking dead still. it doesnt suck, i watched it all. alot of people that say it sucks stopped watching after season 3 or so. retarded
the guy who took over after season 1 is a bit of a prick
"What else would the characters would do to fill up screen time?"

10:21-when that song played in Wonder Woman 1984 It made me chuckle.
He needs to tackle the trainwreck that is Season 3. What a slap to the face for us comic fans.
Indeed he does. Season 3 was horrid. My wounds from Andrea's butchering have still not healed.
At least they're getting back to the comic's ways on the 4th season.
TicTac MentheDouce Sorry that didn't happened it was still shit
wow that's some awesome insight on the production that i never knew about
I love The Walking Dead, but you showed some really good points. Nice Video M8 :D
Nah his points were bs things that u shouldn't hate a show for
i dont hate the show. i love it
+Xpertfusion He's not giving out reasons to hate the show but just pointing out flaws
10:14 The song was recently used in Wonder Woman 1984 and I cringed so hard and was pissed.
I felt like I was dreaming, it was so bizarre a movie in 20fucking20 was doing that cliche still
Each interpretation does zombie strength and durability differently
But the logic used to justify it is that human beings restrain their total strength unconsciously because our body doesn't want to harm itself.
Was it a super-secret smart zombie that knew how to use tools?
AKA They downgraded them to be much less of a threat.
7 (or is it 8?) seasons in and they're still occasionally smart enough to be ninjas.
The scene when Carl got shot, and the panic by Rick... was just... so powerful! And TOTALLY a plot device. haha. but so powerful.
Probably because I really...really! thought that this was a scene of beauty in this crappy world. ...and I fell for it. Hook, line, and *BANNGGGGggg* sinker.
When that happened, i bursted out laughing
It felt a lot like my experience of GoT where after season 3 I reckoned they ran out of ideas, so I stopped bothering. If you're a fan of zombie movies with a slight twist I recommend 'Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things.' It's really cheesy but has some great moments, I love it.
I never watched zombie movies because I'd always have nightmares, until i watched warm bodies i think that movie kinda softened me up, the walking dead had already been out for years before i decided to watch it in 2018, then i became a super fan, I've watched the entire 10 series at least 4 times already 😁, but i will admit after Rick left i lost interest
they use this song in suicide squad too

The song at the end......lol. I have no words for that. Shit came out of nowhere, and was so funny
I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY FIRED HIM!! WHAT THE HELL AMC!?
Season 2 makes more sense though, I could hardly get through it. It was like wading through a swamp. Season 1 on the other hand, that was amazing.
