Joker was too on the nose for me; Folie a Deux was much more subtle and less preachy. I think most people either missed the point or they didn’t like the message.
Thank you for this review! I like this movie. I like the message in it. I think that Arthur changed his mind not because of the abuse, but because his fellow inmate tried to stand up for him and started to sing. Arthur smiled when he heard him, but then guards killed that boy. That was the final breaking point for Arthur.
Yeah! I noticed they were setting up a lot of moments that led to Arthur turning but I just think that one scene in Arkham really overshadowed everything else in the film and made the movie more depressing than it had to be.

@@dansPov I guess, they wanted to show the ugliness of the system. It was very cruel, but realistic. Todd really went all in with this story.
