I left streaming in the beginning once they took Xena off Fuxx that as of today I have almost 200 TV shows n over 600 and bR

Lmao. I love physical media over streaming as well but the idea that these companies would start spending money on printing and shipping discs again is a pipe dream. I guess just never consume media after 2025 again, especially since Sony just announced they will cease production of all blank optical media in feburary. Without physical media formats, the only way to fight streaming is to pirate stuff or start buring and sharing homemade dvds i guess??? It really sucks that when people started to realize all that they lost with physical it's too late to go back. Like what about all those streaming service original shows that never had a physical release?

its gonna be a multi year long transition, and the idea is that i'll cancel most of the streaming services i'll probably keep sky cinema but netflix, disney +, amazon etc can all go once my library is fully built up

Your comment about needing subtitles was interesting. I haven't seen the film yet but that Other Robert Eggers film, The Lighthouse. I think that needs to be seen with subtitles as throughout most of the film, I couldn't understand what that characters were saying

I am back on the blu ray wagon, can’t be asked with several subscriptions and rising costs and then the thing you want to watch isn’t even available. So done with it. You know what caused it, the one day we all as a family wanted to watch Jurassic Park, and it turned into an entire witch hunt trying to find the service that had it, only then to find out, I am not subbed anymore…. That was it, I took my Blu-ray, found my at this point ancient PS3 and bang we were watching dinosaurs like it was 1996 or 94 don’t remember which year it was!

Streaming is retarded . I've never paid for a subscription & have always owned physical media . People are lazy & see everything as expendable .

no reason not to keep the option of free or partially free streaming options around as the options are cheap and portable. And if something you like exists on a physical format you can always get it there too

I got wonka on Blu-ray, the special features are crap,as well as they gave me a bunch of cardboard mini posters and i hate how the paper sleeve covers the top of the Blu-ray case, it just doesn't look right with my other Blu-rays and i have a Deadpool Blu-ray that doesn't even have a cover that fits in better with the other cases.

If you have a problem with the hard to use cases, just get some cd jewel cases. They go for about $15 for 10 of them

They are lying to their customers, those are prime examples of something called "paid reviews", this is when the production studio pays the platform to give them a good rating with inflated reviews (this one is illegal but still happens), or the production studio can pay several thousands of people then make those same people sign an NDA to review their movie on all release platforms (this one is also illegal but people are much less likely to report it due to the illegal NDA they signed and it happens way more often in Hollywood than you'd think), this one is the worst one tho; the production company can pay a platform to "promote" their movie to certain niche audiences, people who love wacky and bad movies like your estranged aunt if you catch what I mean, the platform will achieve this by going over their algorithm and choosing the right audience based on the algorithm categories they have available then suddenly your weird aunt has the movie on the front page in full glory literally begging her to watch it, after she watched it and fell asleep to it at the 1 hour mark, it will ask for a rating where of course she will give it the maximum (this is the one that happens the most and it is fully legal sadly), suddenly that movie hits the top charts even though it is bad.

I think that Arthur changed his mind not because of the abuse, but because his fellow inmate tried to stand up for him and started to sing. Arthur smiled when he heard him, but then guards killed that boy. That was the final breaking point for Arthur.

I buy a lot of my collection from Amazon as stores are cutting back on amount of physical discs. Luckily Sony has bought some of the Disney catalogue and will be releasing those titles on physical 4K disc .

Like majority of the Alien fans, God can we please stop with David sequel suggestion... It unnecessarily open a whole can of worms and make the franchise world much much smaller rather than it just being as simple as space is the pure dark, big endless unknown and unforgiving nature like the original. Plus in case anyone forgot, Covenant is underperformed box office. It's obvious many fans and audience dont want it. It's dead. Done deal. Now we got a winner again with Romulus, let just keep it simple : More clever action, more horror survival plots and more terrifying hybrids.

And the Xeno didn't necessarily save Rain, if it let her fall she would've been blasted to pieces and (as you said) their goal is reproduction. A lot of people didn't see it but there's a facehugger running towards her and the Xeno while it's holding her, it was trying to impregnate her.

I wonder if Rain and Andy will somehow go to wherever David ended up after Covenant. Yvaga is described as a paradise in Romulus, but Fede said if they got there it would likely be the opposite. It would tie in with the theme of Prometheus and Covenant of Paradise and the inherently sinister and dark connotations around it. I think if Fede has the chance he will 100% try and bring David back if he can.

This was an incredible in depth analysis made in only 12 minutes. Impressive ! I thought it was a very good movie. Too much fan service indeed. But they managed to make nods to all the movies that came before. And I'm so glad they did not turn the Rain character into a Ripley rip-off. I personally don't think it needs a direct sequel. The only memorable character was Andy. I don't feel the need to see David and the engineers ever again.

The real sucky thing is when a movie isn't available on streaming or physically easily. The movie Heavy Traffic from 1973 is one of my favourite animated movies but it's not available on any streaming platforms as far as I know and the bluray is out of print and expensive second hand.

I related Pearl to psycho as soon as I seen it she has parallels just like Norman Bates especially if you watched the show Bates Motel.

Streaming and physical both have their perks and setbacks. Streaming means less clutter and can be seen on TV, computers and mobile devices, convenient and easier for younger kids or people with severe disabilities to use, but are only viewable with internet, certain movies and shows can be delisted, things will change or be removed on subscriptions and how much money you spend each month. Physical means viewable offline, ability to resell and there's media that are only viewable, but discs can get scratched or cracked, sets can be pricey or go out of print and lots of shelf consumption depending on the box a movie bundle, collector's edition or series is shipped in.
