Rosa Parks, The Doctor and her companions make sure historical moments remain
After paying her bus fare, the driver stops Rosa walking through the bus towards the ‘colored’ section, telling her to use the rear door. As she’s leaving, Rosa momentarily sits in a ‘white’ seat to pick her purse. Once she’s disembarked, the bus pulls away before she’s able to re-enter.

They play on the Van Gogh's scene too! I think it's interesting that those two moments were the only ones that this happened.
Episode 2, season 1 played Toxic by Brittany Speares (song was 2 years old then, so pretty modern).

the real Rosa parks, in history. Volunteered to this, this was planned by a civil rights group and they picked out Rosa parks to do this. It wasn’t a random fuck it moment, they planned for months for her not to move

One of the greatest pieces of television I have ever seen. To portray a real moment this well in a sci-fi show is very difficult, the writers, actors and crew who were part of this should be immensely proud its a masterpiece. Everything was spot on the writing, acting, the music in the background as well, I also commend Bradley Walsh for being able to show the heartbreak Graham has for not being able to help the woman his late wife was such a massive fan of.

The sad thing back then people barely speak up or stand up for others. That look on everyone's faces especially from brother's face just broke my heart, you can see his eyes became watery. At that point you really have no power to do anything other than just watch in pain. That's really the worse/sad part of humanity.

I can't remember in my whole time as a fan of this show, Doctor Who doing something like this. Rosa Parks was a fuckin boss! And I'm so glad that Doctor Who showed its premise of time travel to show a place in time so awful for the black community.

No one is paying attention to what actually happened. She sat behind the line which means she was in the black section and not the white section. That means she was sitting in the back of the bus. Then the driver moved the sign to force her to be sitting in the white section.

@@doesntmatter1324I mean the way it’s depicted on screen is really powerful, so much so that it moves me to tears. And Rosa, in that moment, was powerful. She suffered from a horrific act representing the racist oppressive society she lived in but in that moment she chose to do whatever she could to quietly defy. Which is powerful.
@@lila133 the way its depicted on screen is wrong. Remember, we are talking about the show, not real life. In the scene, Rosa walks past the sign and sits in the back of the bus and then the driver moves the sign behind her so he can claim she's in the front. That's some bullshit and you know it.
If every politician in this world now and future watch Doctor Who , the world will be a beautiful place I must say

Why is doctor who in virgin media channel
For over 2000 years, the Doctor has fought injustice wherever they found it. And this scene tears me up, because now, they have to be part of the injustice for history to happen.
This scene alone cemented the whole episodes as being in my Top 5 Doctor Who episodes, for its historical accuracy, to the acting of the characters, and to this perfectly portrayed scene and what it teaches to young audiences everywhere. The only real downfall was the underdeveloped villain of the episode.
It has no place being in Dr Who , a family show that’s supposed to be fun..please Rtd Bring back the fun and the Sci fi ….WHERE WAS THE SCI FI in this episode…it may as well be a BBC Drama
@@DaraGaming42 No place? Teaching children important historical events in a show about TIME TRAVEL is very much in place with Doctor Who, after all, thats what they always intended the show to be when conceived. Aliens like the Daleks were a compromise.
