Anne Meara, Anne Shedeen and Andrea Elson played grandmother, mother and daughter in this episode. Anne Meara was 20 years older than Shedeen who was 20 years older than Elson. Therefore, Shedeen/Kate fits right in between the other two by age. Meara was born in 1929, Shedeen in 1949 and Elson in 1969.
12:24 "Why do you keep comparing me to 'E.T.'? I'm nothing like 'E.T.'. You know, someday, Willie, someone from Melmac's going to ask me what you're like and I'm gonna say: 'Well, did you ever see 'The Nutty Professor'?" 😂🤣
I am from India. Alf used to air in 2004 on local cable, I used to watch after coming from school. Imagine how Alf left a mark on my childhood. It's nostalgic and tragic.
I was surprised when i read the review as to y this series came to an end. They said it was "boring" or became "boring". Nonsense I am old and watching it in 2023 and also when i was growling up and i find every episode very entertaining and DIFFERENT!. Sad to hear ppl say it became boring, I do not believe that. Ppl just had more option of series to watch :)
true at the time there was so much TV theres so much more now but at the time it was wild that there were competing media: tv and movies mainly and the beginning of video games and a wider taste for animated content. no internet. its a bit of a cliche but there was something nice about those "simpler times". at the time it was even a novel thing that people could record TV and movies on VHS, which is how i remember watching this episode as a kid.....
i remember my dad recording this to VHS and watching it several times. i would remember so many little gags as a kid but watching it as an adult its crazy how many little jokes i never really understood or appreciated like Dorothys immediate distaste for ALF its funny how shes only scared of him for a minute and then starts getting annoyed with him
I love Alf his voice is perfect to any situation..is very coherent and direct to the target....I watch now with my 9 years old son and we have a lot of fun......and ...Stop poking me ...hahaha and ....Willly to Alf..juce..?😂😂😂❤😂
Kate: ALF, ALF, get back into the garage. My mother is still here. ALF: I've had it with the garage. And I've had it with your mother. This is my home. This is where the bathroom is. Lynn: ALF, grandma's in the bathroom. ALF: What does she have? Squatters rights? That does it. I'm gonna have to file a grievance.
Good mothers (most mothers are good) do everything for their children, when the time comes for the children to be patient with their mother, the children don't have it, I call it INGRATITUDE!!! It's amazing how some adult children really treat their mother so badly and don't care about their mother's company... I always treated my mother with love even when she was difficult and bossy... I wish I had my mother coming to my house bringing gifts and making a delicious dinner... My mother is in heaven...
But will Dorothy... ever? It still shocks me how the woman lied to her own family to become a permanent guest in their home, after her own obnoxious behavior got her roommate to kick her out(see next episode)!
Anne Meara guest starred in this episode as Kate's mom. As I am sure we all know, she was married to comedian Jerry Stiller, who later appeared as Frank Constanza on Seinfeld who openly hated Jerry Seinfeld's parents. Jerry's mother was played by Liz Sheridan, who played recurring character Mrs Ochmonek on this show.
Today, Anne Meara is more known as mother of actor Ben Stiller, than for her and Jerry's half of century long comedian careers and real life partnership which lasted until her death in 2015, followed by Jerry in 2020.
As A.L.F. reaches for his corn on the cob, he appears to have trouble grabbing onto it. This is because the Puppeteer, Paul Fusco, was having trouble locating the corn, as he couldn't see from under the table.
His autopsy it was ruled lymphoma and he was cremated and he was buried at Westwood memorial Park in Los Angeles California and he was married to Linda and he had 6 dozen kids named Archie and Bentley and Sarah and woody and he had a star on the Hollywood walk of fame and its a true story and rest in peace George Maxwell wright Willie Tanner amen

I am from India. Alf used to air in 2004 on local cable, I used to watch after coming from school. Imagine how Alf left a mark on my childhood. It's nostalgic and tragic.
ALF was my after school show back in 2008 when it aired on WGN. There is something just so relaxing about this show.
In Zambia Africa we watched it in 1990.
Samehere 😅

But will Dorothy... ever?
It still shocks me how the woman lied to her own family to become a permanent guest in their home, after her own obnoxious behavior got her roommate to kick her out(see next episode)!
Max Wright also has passed on
Very sad news recently re: Benji Gregory’s unexpected passing too.
Anne Meara guest starred in this episode as Kate's mom. Jerry's mother was played by Liz Sheridan, who played recurring character Mrs Ochmonek on this show.
In fact, she mentions Crazy Estelle. Jerry's wife on Seinfeld was called Estelle and was played by actress Estelle Harris.
Today, Anne Meara is more known as mother of actor Ben Stiller, than for her and Jerry's half of century long comedian careers and real life partnership which lasted until her death in 2015, followed by Jerry in 2020.
That's quite a crossover I never expected.
Go for it Wili😂
