Tbh I don't get the pick of actor here. The dad looks way to old for his family and his chemistry with alf (along with Kate's) feels toxic than loving, I hate how people suffered behind the scenes.
@@grendel8342 Hilarious you say this. The actor looks very close to what my dad looked like in the 80s, they had similar faces and I was about 6 years old. 😂 Max was born in 43 and my dad 44. Alf was mischievous, it made the dad test his patience but at the end of each episode they all ended up in a good note and that's all the show was about. Damn right!!! What's not to love!?!?!?! Recently, I have been having hard times sleeping... tough times, depression, horrible nightmares... I came across my old plush ALF stuffed animal a few weeks ago, and as pathetic as it may sound for a 44 year old man to sleep with a stuffed animal, ALF and me hang out and I hug him till I fall asleep every night these past few weeks... 🤗🤗🤗
Love how ALF sits right there between the cheesy wholesomeness of shows like Growing Pains and the mean sarcasm of something like Married... with Children. It takes the best of both worlds and makes a funny, clever & sweet but not mawkish sitcom out of it. One of my favourite shows when I grew up.
I loved this show used to watch it every Monday night at 7:00 pm during the 80s growing up, Monday was usually a rough day for me in those days but at night this show got me in a better mood

The syndicated version leaves it a bit of a mystery how they know it was ALF. In the original version, they hear "Stop in the Name of Love" (but that seemed to have been taken out at least partially for copyright reasons, but also perhaps along with the other things they take out to make more room for commercials).
@@adriantrelaMost likely licensing bullshit. That’s why the Dieter Sprockets clips on the SNL channel use different music for the outro and dance numbers.
This TV show is so underrated but hilarious. Look at the expression on Kate’s face. Priceless. Bring everything outside the house lucky that he didn’t take the kitchen sink
I think it probably was coincidence and there couldn't have been a crossover because they are usually only done when both shows have the same or some of the same producers.
half the fun of me watching this show back in the day was because like a few other 80s shows i was probably in love with the daughter in this, and as something who grew up in the 80s and watched family ties, a different world, the cosby show, the wonder years, kate and allie, different strokes, alf, out of this world, the waltons, little house on the prairie, etc, and being a teenage boy who started to discover girls i was very possibly in love with a lot of girls on television, let alone on films.
@@dachen2375half of Lucky is still visible but an instant later he's completely gone. They clearly did the explosion in a different take. Obviously they didn't want the cat on the set when they sent Alf thru the window.
I loved ALF - I watched the show and reruns often- which I recognize these are not the “Full Episodes” - missing punchlines. e.g. “ha ha ha, nice zinger - I will have to relay that to the other man servants I’ve befriended.”
That small actor died a few years ago. If you look up The Doors’ “Strange Days” album cover (1968), you’ll see a small man/dwarf on the cover with two or three other regular-size circus people. He’s the small guy.
