***** i agree.I find marvel to be "better" on movies but damn...the batman trilogy and this one(even if not great) are some of the greatest superheroes movie out there and the music is for something.
***** butt hurt fan boy spotted... there is more to a movie than its music you know right? dont get me wrong i like MOS more than half of marvels movies but MOS had a great storyline awesome actors and, of course, music by Hanz Zimmer but this movie was produced by Christopher Nolan and Christpher Nolan Uses Hanz Zimmer in LITERALLY ALL of his movies... (See entire dark knight series) also marvel hasnt made music like this becaasue they are hiring the wrong people to make the music for their movies, ALSO, marvel sold out alot of their storylines and copyright claims to a few of their characters too so Marvel has no control over what they do anyway. WB and DC have been affiliated with each other for almost three decades now so DC can do what they want with no problems... so basically im saying that I agree with you but just try not to sound like a fanboy when trying to prove a point...
It's great but better than Williams? Keep dreaming. Listening to this, it could apply to anyone heroic or epic. William's score can ONLY make you think of Supes.
I think the real problem is that people aren't ready for this interpretation of Superheroes. All three of the founding trinity in the Snyder-verse are very human characters. Superman is perhaps the loneliest person in existence, struggling with self-doubt and trauma from the invasion. Batman is a victim of PTSD and is so full of rage and hate that he almost killed a true hero. And Wonder Woman is bitter and jaded towards humanity after seeing a century of horror and violence. For decades we've seen these characters as demigods. As paragons of truth and justice. But this challenges that belief. These aren't perfect beings. They're people. People with fears and hates and loves all their own. And you know what? I love it! I love these new takes on these characters. If people are uncomfortable seeing their heroes in this light and take it out on the movie, well their loss! I can't wait for more epic scores, epic stories, and the epic new vision of the Justice League.
The Justice League film was ok, not great but not terrible either. Maybe if DC continued to release more solo superhero films it would’ve stood a chance against the Avengers movies.
@@kgatch113a You do know it's possible to say something good about the DCEU without bashing the MCU, right? You may not like them, but that's just your opinion. The original Avengers only had 1 woman and they only added 1 more. The MCU has nothing close to a female centric roster. Literally the only major female character going forward in Captain Marvel. Man of Steel and Bvs are the two most underrated comic book movies ever made. I say that as a fan of film not as a fan of comics. The amount of hidden details, themes, symbols, and ideas on religion, politics, and the media are incredible not to mention the great acting, music, visuals. action, and clever deadpan humor. Not to mention they feel like they were real movies made by an actual person with a distinct style of film making rather than a generic product made by a corporate yes man. Suicide squad on the other hand was a mildly entertaining mess.
This song is for all of us who have lost an angel and live with the pain every day. My dad always bullied my mum, would call her a fat useless pathetic bitch...I'd often see her turn away from me so I'd not see her crying... He tried to kill her one time... She was an angel, she was SO loving and kind, the sort of person who would give her life to protect the innocent.. As you can imagine, seeing her suffer like that has made me despise bullies, if I see a person being bullied I will be in the bullies face and be confronting them. Seeing her suffer made me strong, it made me realize that bullying in ALL forms is wrong, she taught me to love all life no matter what shape it comes in. +Ladarian "You will give the people of Earth a load of shit in their pants. They will race to the bathroom, they will stumble, they will fall, but in time, they will join you in the shower. In time, you will help them to receive enemas."
Superman's humanity was told in three minutes in this. Childhood uncertainty with the lone piano luluby, building confidence with some moments of doubts in the alternating tones, and finally it blows with full orchestra and full percussion
As a composer myself, in terms of who to look up to and admire in the modern age of composing? Hans Zimmer. He uses a perfect fusion of traditional orchestral music in combination with modern DAW's and analog gear. The really cool thing about this song is that it's written like a serous of movements. The song feels much longer than it actually is in terms of intensity. They sure pour a hell of alot into that time - it's a perfect modern take on the Superman theme. John Williams Superman music could break out at any time during a modern Superman film and feel just at home. They both love horns and dramatic swells. Superman's been very blessed.
I heard a version of this on Soundcloud when it first leaked. Comments on there are timestamped so they appear at the moment in the song when the comment was made. At 1:31 someone had just said "I'm flying" and for some reason I'll never forget that. Great track, great soundtrack, all-time great composer.
The thing i love from the film the most was how the struggle of superman can be applied to any person, not necessarily the having powers part, but the will to act, choosing to do the right thing, being a good person.
super man has kryptonite as a weakness and not being able so save everyone who needs saving. He does his best but he can't be everywhere at once. That is his true weakness
This score by Hans Zimmer is gripping, emotionally, and hopeful which is what the Man of Steel movie should have been. It's what Superman should have been. Anybody else agree? Like and comment.
Example of senseless conversation: compare "Man Of Steel" and "Guardian of the Galaxy". The first does not have an ounce of comedy (thank God), the second is an almost pure comedy. It's like comparing "Matchpoint" and "Take the Money and Run", both from Woody Allen. Personally speaking, Man Of Steel is a great movie, in general, and one of the best of its genre in every way: musically, visually, script, story focus, adaptation of the character, etc.
Funny, I thought it actually failed in almost all of those areas you listed off. Especially in adapting the character of Superman, I feel it's frankly offensive in that regard.
Spike Prime Not with the idea that I have about Superman. The people behind MOS knows enough about comics, it would be strange they made a disrespectful/offensive version.
Raskolnikovtzs Honestly, I don't feel his character here really reflects the one I've read and seen over the years. Superman is a hopeful, optimistic, positive character who helps people with problems, whether they be large or small. The character of this film is a morose, depressing, miserable and dreary person with very little in the way of hope or optimism, despite the movie going on and on with its bludgeoned-in messages. And Jor-El's speeches were so overwrought and pretentious. The movie goes on and on about Clark being some saviour, to the point where they literally have images of Jesus behind him... none of which actually work because Superman is not, and never really has been Jesus, and it's stupid to try and make him that. Allow me to share my favourite speech from Superman ever, taken from the pages of Superman: Secret Origin: "I want you to stop looking for some great saviour. Lex Luthor isn't it. I'm not it. You are. All of you are. I do what I do because I was given a gift, but all of you were given gifts, too. Use them to make each other's lives better. Show the world that Metropolis has a heart." That short speech has more nuance, meaning and relevance to Superman than any long-winded speech in MoS has.
Spike Prime One thing is the tone of the film, too serious for some people (not for me) and another the psyche of the character. The pre-Superman seen in MOS is not depressing at all. I think what we see in that movie is a being who doubt, who spends half of the movie looking his origins, a being almost physically invulnerable except his heart.
Raskolnikovtzs I can see we both have radically different viewpoints on the film, and though I have many problems with the film beyond what I mentioned, I suppose the central one would be I don't personally like this interpretation, or this introduction, to this new Superman as a character and feel it's a disrespectful and unfaithful translation of him from a personality standpoint... I can see that you do like this version, and to a certain extent I understand why. It is a bold shift in terms of how the films have portrayed him, and an attempt was made to analyse and reinvent Superman in a new way. However, I feel the execution was botched, the dialogue faulty, the visual style dreary and dull, and the tone far too stuck in that one note for almost the entire run-time, leaving me with almost nothing to latch onto and like. I hope we can leave this conversation with an understanding and respect for each other's viewpoints :)
Hans Zimmer is amazing...he has done SO MANY WORKS. Kung Fu Panda was enough to put him in my top 10, but now he made music for a Superman movie? Awesome! I love comics!!!
This is why I love this movie so much. It taught an ultimate about making a difference, saving people's lives, and creating a better future for everyone.
"Be well Norman McCay. You have watched the Titans walk the earth and you have kept stride. Perhaps you're more like them than you realize. You exist to give hope." The Specter
John William’s Superman theme is makes me feel the type of hope where I can look up and know that I’ll be saved. Hans Zimmer’s Superman theme makes me feel the type of hope where I know that there’s a better tomorrow, that there is a bright future. Both themes embody the ideals of Superman, and I can’t pick one over the other. I love them both and wish someone could somehow combine the two
This song inspires me to stay sober forever.

Thank you Hanz Zimmer for this masterpiece! ❤❤❤
the piano part at the start is emotional
Regardless of the movie I still feel this is the perfect piece for a Superman just learning about who he is
Love this score, it goes along to one of the greatest superhero movies ever, and not to mention the best interpretation of Superman: The Man Of Steel.
For me the best Superman actor since the original! This track is beautiful 😊
"Love them, as we loved you."
"Fly son. It's time."
The thing i love from the film the most was how the struggle of superman can be applied to any person, not necessarily the having powers part, but the will to act, choosing to do the right thing, being a good person.
i have a job interview tomorrow and nervous. listening to this to get pumped up.
I love Hans Zimmer so much. Did an amazing job here dood
An ideal of hope.... "No one stays good in this world."
Nice.
so far the best Superman movie, by far, period
Best superhero move (for me at least)
If I could travel back in time to watch any movie in the theater again, it would be MAN OF STEEL
Song has been inspiring me to go hard on the Squat Rack for the past 12 years
super man has kryptonite as a weakness and not being able so save everyone who needs saving. He does his best but he can't be everywhere at once. That is his true weakness

This score by Hans Zimmer is gripping, emotionally, and hopeful which is what the Man of Steel movie should have been. It's what Superman should have been. Anybody else agree? Like and comment.
Thankfulness towards life, towards yourself, and the courage to do what you have to do, gentlemen. Have a good year 2023.
Fly son, it's time

“You just have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be, Clark. Whoever that man is, he’s going to change the world.”- Jon Kent 🥹
This song will stay for ever in our hearts and minds, it will be Man of Steel song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeees this was the soundtrack I was looking for. I love "flight" too but I was specifically looking for this one.
Allow me to share my favourite speech from Superman ever, taken from the pages of Superman: Secret Origin:
"I want you to stop looking for some great saviour. Lex Luthor isn't it. I'm not it. You are. All of you are. I do what I do because I was given a gift, but all of you were given gifts, too. Use them to make each other's lives better. Show the world that Metropolis has a heart."
That short speech has more nuance, meaning and relevance to Superman than any long-winded speech in MoS has.
Que nadie se meta con mi papito the man of steel
Hans Zimmer is the best in my opinion
kevin barahona
Here here. Best movie music composer!
So hype for justice league let's goooo!!!!
Too bad bvs was carp
+Par Sa Crap? No. Extremely underwhelming and disappointing? Yes.

1:59 Shit is getting serious!
Lmao
My favorite part!
I love them both and wish someone could somehow combine the two
If we got a final flight sequence akin to Spider-Man’s final swing sequences with this theme, it would have been legendary
