The Pistols were really a great ROCK band....drop the punk tag...they rocked. Steve Jones is a criminaly underrated guitarist.... his Fire and gasoline album is a banger.....I saw The Pistols at the screen on the Green London.....they were awesome.....listen to the guitar here..........Great stuff.
One of their early original tracks. Fantastic drumming from Cook, driving bass, tons of guitar tracks by Jones, and great vocal and manic lyrics from Rotten.
@@Owlstretchingtime78 Realized my mistake once I posted the comment, meant to say side one of an album! Still have the vinyl but only listen to the cd.
Great reaction ! He does that in another song called 'I Wanna Be Me" with the line"..a second of your life ruined for life..." It's very clever songwriting.
What you said about the fourth wall breaking made me think about the bit I love in Holidays In The Sun when he goes "I gotta go over the Berlin Wall, I gotta go under the Berlin Wall, I don't understand this bit at all"
Great band. I chatted to Glen Matlock (original bassist) of Sex Pistols in early 2021. I am soon to be getting John Lydon's autograph too! he was Uncle Johnny! C was here!
Yep, I agree with your point about the non-rhyme line being there to say something to the audience. Rotten was transparently uncomfortable with the band (quickly cobbled together by managers, quickly promoted, and almost as quickly disappeared), and his lyrics do reflect a rebellious, sarcastic take. Regardless, it still works for me.
Justin, you need to check out John Lydon’s next band Public Image Ltd. at some point! Spectacular experimental post-punk and dub leanings found specifically on their first three albums. Please give them a listen after you complete your Sex Pistols journey
Just here to echo the comments of everyone else - the Pistols were a great rock band, powerful song, great vocal and manic lyrics, fantastic drumming. Is there a better punk album? I know others will disagree (hell, I usually cite Generation X and Zen Arcade as better) but this was just what music needed in 1977 and still sounds exciting today.
Glad you’re liking the Pistols. Lydon is obviously the most ‘impactful’ (I guess) element of the band. But Steve Jones is amazing. His guitar is so distinctive - just grabs you by the $@#&s and then let’s go when it’s done
May I please recommend the album Stand Strong Stand Proud by The Vice Squad. Lead singer is Becki Bondage. Hardly a bad track on the album, in my mind the energy and enthusiasm of the music is easily an equal to the Pistols. Thank you.
Energetic! "Aerosmith ROCKS" without the...variety? Guitar drum n bass sound great but the slightly one dimensional vocals bringit down a notch or two, but Rotten was the Essential Component Shirley?

Criminally underrated? Call the ratings police!
If they existed......I certainly would🎸

My favorite track. Thanks Justin!
What a great song to end an album with. "You got a problem, the problem is you", an equally great insight, which few appreciate.
This album isn't over.

I can live another day with bangers like this still in the universe
JP is clearly getting the hang of this punk rock thing, which shows just how open minded he is.
We used to pogo our butts off to the Pistols, Ramones, Vibrators, Rezillos et al back in the late 70s

When I was in my early 20s in the 80s we wore this album out just cruising around cranking this with the windows open and freaking people out.

Gotta do ‘Submission’ next!!
That's my favourite track too, but like every album he's going in order!
First line I ever learned to play on bass
Two sides of bangers.
One of the tracks they wrote after Glen Matlock had left the band, they all contributed to this song and used the four chords ABCD deliberately

No no. You nailed it bro! Awesome!
This way they are one of the biggest groups of all time great live and pil

'fantastic' is a bit strong. Aggressively solid is more suited to Cook's style!
Do "mickey mouse is dead" by the subhumans. Proper belter of a song.🇬🇧👍
Although now he's just done the 'From the Cradle to the Grave' album I guess the whole 'The Day the Country Died' album is too much to ask for.
Nice!
At the very end, “problem” starts to sound like Rob Lowe to me.

Not equal. The Pistols are the best. :}
I actually hate the punk tag because this is just a great rock album by any definition and the lyrics are great too.
I wanna be me - Did you no wrong - Satellite, all worth a reaction. Non are on Bollocks, but are of the same high quality.
You either luv em or hate em.
I happen to love them,..since the first.
I love them so much even though I hate Maga vibes Rotten I can at least respect he put some thought into his "delusion" unlike the majority
One of the few Sex Pistols songs I genuinely love. Megadeth do a solid cover too.
Energetic! "Aerosmith ROCKS" without the...variety? Guitar drum n bass sound great but the slightly one dimensional vocals bringit down a notch or two, but Rotten was the Essential Component Shirley?
Powerful song. Love the Pistols.
No connection here, however, can you give the Toy Dolls a try esp. "Olga, I cannot."
hoping you'll swing back to jade warrior soon
Problem problem problem Prah Blem.
He rhymes "order" with "order" but they're two different meanings of the word. A little play on the word I guess.
Justin you should react to a cover of a Stooges song they did titled No Fun. Much better than the original too!
Decent track, but not as good as 'Submission', the albums finest moment!
Submission wasn't on the album.
Maybe not on the British release, but it was on their U.S. release.@@sexpistol7712
Yes it is it's on around 9th track on the album@@sexpistol7712
I seriously don't get it. You are the best reactors out there, but you continue to listen to the worst music.
You're absolutely right, you seriously don't get it.
