Can the DJI Neo fly freestyle?

- One of the biggest questions is can you free style it? To answer that question I attempted what I have done with the avata at a familar spot. Long and the short of it the dji NEO struggles with anything acrobatic. You can absolutely fly it like a tiny whoop tho

This video was done on stock rates which will affect the speed of a roll. Flat out in the top 20 % of the battery will be the best performance much after that it’s sorta mushy.

Although we all recommend that you guys add way more power and a fpv mode for the Neo 2 :)

I think it will fly better if you remove the top and bottom prop guards-they seem easy to remove for FPV flying.

The good thing is that for the individual who’s never owned a drone before, this would be a cost effective, and user friendly drone for them to use. Great video Ken.👍🏾

Just pre ordered one from B&H. Bought the RCN3 controller at a deal from someone who bought a Flymore combo in Canada and didn't need the controller. I so hope they make this compatible with at least Integra goggles at some point in the future. I have all kinds of fpv drones to do serious stuff with, just want this one for casual flights and it's compactness. Also being able to do some flying with just the phone control if wanted. For the type flying you are doing, if you haven't tried it, the motion controller excels.
I love the video and even though you can’t do great acrobatic moves like with other higher level spec FPV drones, I think the Neo is great for beginners to practice the hell out of it and perfecting their flying skills then they’ll be ready to choose from a plethora of FPV drones that kickass, so I think that alone to get and build the confidence of being a better pilot is worth the price point. Thanks for always being straight and honest bro!👍🏾👍🏾

most videos i've seen, they fly it without the propguards. it's an extra weight and takes a toll on power. try it without those

I think when the drone is out for a few months people would do motor mods like u could do on the first avata and apparently that would make it have more power
Motor won’t change the power that’s going to come from the battery voltage which this lacks

I’m honestly surprised the allow full manual 😂 maybe they will remove the feature😂 I hope they will improve as much as the drone capabilities can allow

We want the mini avata 2! Capable with the goggles, controller 2 and the goggles, controller 3. I know you have it DJI, so stop holding out and making us wait. Yes I know you are that good.
Would it fly better without that mesh guard? Make it more like the Avata 2. Might get better air flow

This had no power, at 100% you aren’t ripping on it. Period
I wish more people would check out JOPRO's videos. Night and day from folks expecting this to work like their DIY 5in monsters.

While it cant flip, roll or dive for its life im pleasantly surprised how well it flies in Manual if you treat it like a a whoop. I must have crashed it 20+ times today into the trees and mud and it survived like a champ. 100% on your comment in its weight preventing damage and the wind, its just lacking power when you need it to pull out of anything last minute. BUT you can push it once you get used to how it behaves around things and the battery life compared to a whoop is insane. It does feel like DJI is manipulating the power to the motors continually as its hard to get used to what power there is as its not always there when you think it should be , But that being said, This may be the best manual mode learning drone out there if you keep away from the freestyle moves.

That Rocksteady is weird, it has a zoom like gyroflow and it seems to be a lot of zoom.

Hi ! Real question that I have difficulty understanding since I have the Neo, they indicate 18 minutes of maximum autonomy but why even with a 100% charged battery, the screen never indicates more than 8 minutes of autonomy remaining?
So weak, but still doable and fun enough for manual

In the rates, you still hat atti restrictions on. Turn that off abd it will become way more agile
I seen someone doing pretty decent acro with this an it looked like great fun, for sure its not build for true acro but still the features are great

Turned Atti off, that recording is from a settings video we’re doing. Atti is the first thing I typically turn off for manual

I noticed you had M Mode Attitude limit checked ON in the settings. Would that have interfered with your roll?
We turned it off before flying , that screen grab is from a settings video we’re doing. Again listen to what’s being said not assume
Can you try this again but you need to turn off the M mode limit in the rates page. you didn't have full manual mode on

THE NEO will stand in for DJI "Virtual Flight" Simulator and Liftoff. At 135 grams, it wont have much mass behind it to destroy itself. If they ever ship the damn thing!

I already saw a guy flying the Neo on Manual like it's an FPV drone. He did change the rates though, so I think you just did it wrong man...

Looks like we got another one of those toy drones from DJI.. at least it’s better quality than that other little one they used to have.
I know I am late to the game but really could use your help. Have the EVO 1 and despite my best efforts can't figure out why the controller doesn't read the SD or show the camera (The SD is the one that came with the EVO, updated manually and it worked great. Now took it out and am having this problem. Have read it could be a software issue or a hardware one. As you know there isn't any Autel help. Thinking a factory reset but can't find how to do that either. Any honest help would be greatly appreciated. God Bless:)

A 135g 2S, 2 inch whoop with prop cages is gonna fly like a pig. Period. You can't ignore basic physics. Sure, it'll dive, flip, and roll - like a pig would dive, flip, and roll. Sloppy, clumsy, and squealing all the time.
If you really want to fly FPV freestyle with a 2S, 2-inch whoop and still hear yourself think, get an analog Mobula8. No cages, same power & props, half the AUW. Giddy up.
Fly the Neo for vlogging; it's really good at that. FPV? Hard pass.
Are the goggles mandatory for Manual Mode flying? Or is there any way to use the Fpv controller 3 with a phone as an ‘fpv’ display.

I’m confused. Are you sure this thing was in full acro mode? It looks like the in between mode that the DJI fpv drone has. I’ve seen other videos on yt that are wayyyy more responsive.

DJI Neo has 2" props and it weighs 135 grams. No wonder it flies like a pig :-) My 2" quad weighs 75 grams with battery. It's freestyles like a little rocket!
