My hot take: Reaves should be starting for the lakers. Man's been straight up hooping.
Edit Update: I F#$KING CALLED IT!
Facts my brother
Need that energy off the bench that’s why he’s doing so well
Not a hot take. A fact.
He’s been hustling his ass off this season for sure. The lakers big tripping for not starting him.
Or maybe everyone is trash on the Lakers or inconsistent
My hot take: Poku is just a skinny version of LeBron, MJ and Kareem combined
What was the hot take?
I agree
@@Sajjad09 the "skinny"
@@Sajjad09 Implying Bron, MJ & Kareem are in Poku's league is a hot take.
@@Sajjad09no one understood ur joke except me😂😂😂😂
Mikal has been better post trade than kd but people can't truly believe mikal is better than Kevin Durant
The suns really missing him too
Mikal? Mikal bridges? Better? Than KD? Man you fucking tripping dawg.
@@erdemeebilgee3584 bro literally said hes not better than kd. Can u read?
@@loganmattoon5284 mb dawg i just woke up
KD played 3 games after the trade right? What are we talking about?
Anytime the heat are counted out they pull off an insane run, and I'm all for a re-run of the 2020 eastern conference finals run 😂😂😂😂
Odds are always against our heat man we are soo underrated but what they don’t see is how we been clicking lately
They're not the 1st seed anymore. It's a different situation this season
@@qu1etdude And the 2020 Heat weren’t a 1 seed either
@Uhm?… you mean the only year herro and duncan robinson were not scouted and took a lot of team surprised.
The Heat have a terrible offense.. They aren't going anywhere in the playoffs
Relegation would only make the crazy inequality in the NBA worse. The way that big names force themselves off teams or create super teams in free agency makes tanking the only option for mid to small market teams if they want to be competitive let alone contenders.
The best thing you could do to increase parity would be make all free agents “restricted”. Any player that opts out i.e. fake retire to get around this is unable to sign with another team for 2 seasons.
There is no "parity"!!!
Is LA equal to Cleveland???
And Charlotte on par with Denver??
"If you want to be competitive... lose"
Modern NBA, guys.
Rewarding failure - what could be the problem..
Nets traded away their picks... them being bad only benefitted Boston (namely in Brown and Tatum)
I’ll explain calling football soccer thing.
It’s basically calling basketball handbal in some random country just because they made up another sport called basketball
Relegation probably wouldn't work with the NBA as it is now, because of tanking (or rather, the reason for tanking - the draft). Soccer/football can do it because these leagues don't do drafts if I'm not mistaken - if the bottom team of the EPL gets relegated, they aren't designated a good young player to take into the English Championship with them, and likewise the team that gets promoted from the Championship doesn't get allocated a good young player to play with them for a year, before they are potentially relegated again.
Instead, signing players all comes down to money. A team decides it wants to get out of the second tier? They find more money and sign better players. A team can't afford to keep up with its wealthier competitors? It might be forced to stay in a lower tier. There's a reason the same ~six teams always top the premier league, and it's not because of a winning culture - it's because they can afford to stay better than their competition.
If the NBA did this, you'd have to come up with some mechanism that would allow NBA-level players to stay in the NBA even if their team got relegated - and can you imagine how hard it would be for, say, the Rockets, to get back to the top tier if Sengun, Green, Porter and Smith were all allowed to join teams that weren't relegated? At least with soccer if a team gets relegated, if there's a star worthy of the top-tier there that doesn't want to spend one or more seasons helping the team climb back up, they can force a trade.
Half the NBA.
Sod the draft.
Cos Charlotte have been bad for years AND suck at drafting/few want to play there.
Scrap the salary cap
If you're to try a new, try a new system.
But don't say it won't work cos you've tried some Frankenstein Monster build!!
Premier League has TWENTY teams.
So I'd suggest the "2nd tier league" be the bottom 10 teams - then they're TRYING TO WIN in order to get to the "NBA" (instead of tanking).
Scrap the salary cap - no SANE reason Dame should make "LeBron in LA" money in Portland!!
RARELY IF EVER has a relegated team "Beasted the lower teir" - because "English Divison 2" =/= "G League"!!
@@darrengordon-hill Basically, if you want relegation to work, you have to scrap the draft and let teams go after players they want themselves. Salary cap can help maintain parity if they were to go that way, but even so, just being a "destination team" versus not a destination team means that the same teams would likely be strong year in, year out.
I mean, imagine if Banchero got to choose which team he wanted to go to - he could've gone straight to somewhere like the Celtics and made them an even stronger contender.
Grizzlies-Warriors in the 1st round would be a legacy series for the Grizz, as a Grizzlies fan I do not want it to happen but as a fan of the NBA I want it to happen
This has been Butler's healthiest season as a Heat player...
Jimmy back to Chicago for DeMar ....
nah
another great video, slowly becoming one of my fav NBA UA-camrs
my hot take: Any one who is a a real die hard Joker fan shouldn't want him to win another MVP bc the amount of pressure it puts on him to succeed this post season. Imagine he loses to the lakers in the 1st round or 2nd the slander would be horrible
they need to trade jimmy for picks to cavs (praying for this to happen)
Nah nuggets need him more.
That first hot take is intriguing. Denver ALWAYS folds, sac although great this yr it's 1 yr (see heat bubble run) & gs deft will defeat mem they have their number this might actually happen
I’ve been thinking about Jimmy on the warriors for a bit, I’d love to see them trade a package including Jordan Poole and u gotta include kuminga and picks as well, this is a trade that only happens if heat want to blow it up. But I think that’s a good start to a package considering what kd went for.
Herro and poole on one team for a season just sounds like bad times lol
@@alexescutia4805 yea if they blew it up I’d imagine them trading herro but u right
That dumb tho
Think about Portland as a destination for Jimmy. They could trade Simons, shaedon sharpe and picks for Jimmy.
@@shaquillecrosse5626 Jimmy getting paired with a all time shooter either way I like that one
“…there are 3 teams kind of in a tier of their own in the east, the Boston Celtics, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers and not necessarily in that order.” Imo 1 and 2 is contentious but Philly is definitely 3.
we aint trading jimmy bro, noone wants an old heat player. we prob get dame anyway
Good lord did this become a cold take
In the U.S., association football is called "soccer". People who don't understand the history of the various forms of football are the only people who "get mad" when you call soccer "soccer". The word "soccer" is a short form of "association", which is the form of football it was known as in the 19th century (association football). American football was known as "gridiron" football back then. Rugby is also another form of football that developed in the 19th century. In the U.K., the two main forms of football were sometimes referred to as "rugger" (rugby) and "soccer" (association). Since Americans had their own form of football, they picked up on these informal names and called association football "soccer". Since then it stuck, and it makes sense, since it's the less popular form of football in the States.
Suns, Warriors, Mavs, and Lakers are all the bottom half of the West, its is highly possible the top 3 will not get out of the West. Warriors still have Steph and a veteran team who know when to turn it on because of experience, and Mavs have Luka and Kyrie, all at their prime.
76ers fans really do make it their job to have the worst NBA takes out of any fanbase
nah that’s the warriors fans job
Kings in western conference
It should be a probation system. If you end up in the bottom three, you're on probation if you hit the bottom three again within the next two years you get relegated down.
I want to touch on the relegation question. My take:
Will it fix the tanking problem - yes, absolutely. Teams will be discouraged to tank since they might be stuck in that religation limbo you described
However, the problem with tanking is not tanking itself. It is that tanking creates matches that are not interesting and dramatic enough to watch.
That being said, the two main things that NBA fans appreciate in their matches are - high quality and drama. The quality of the players and teams will drop with relegation. That is innevitable. Not all the talent will be in the NBA. Some of the very good players will be in top G-league teams since they will be contending for promotion and will be competitive enough. Top talent will still be in the top NBA teams but the disparity between the best and worst will be even higher.
On the other side, drama will be way more. Teams will actually have to fight for their spot in the league. That will make it so that most of the matches count. In football leagues there is this middle section of teams that do not fight for anything. They cannot be relegated but do not have a chance to achieve that top spot that will allow them to represent their country in an international tournaments. That will not happen in the NBA since more than half of the teams participate in the playoffs. If there is a 6 teams playoff for relegation, only 1 team will be safe. That is a spot too tight to rely on getting and holding it. Upsets will happen all the time.
It is not Panacea type of solution. It depends on what you value in the NBA. It will do some good and some harm.
the thing about relegation is that after 2 years, a relegated team might struggle to dominate the G league because there'll be increased competition with teams trying to make the NBA.
0:27 damn he goes against my take... I still think the top 4 of the western conference standings (come playoff) will be the final of 4 playoffs for the western conference...
Butler to Denver would be a good trade. But Butler psiho don't match whit Nuggets game
jimmy trade takes are so bad because it’s obviously people just theorycrafting a fleece trade for him onto their favorite team. so unrealistic it’s not even worth discussing
I think a good team that Jimmy can play are OKC or NYK. Those teams culture can meet Jimmy's needs
So let me get this straight. Trade jimmy off the heat because they’re not good enough allegedly and trade him to the Knicks when they are only 3 games ahead or the okc thunder who the heat are better than right now?
@@tj-23 just saying if they want to move on from butler those two organizations can benefit and butler will appreciate the culture also.
@@tj-23 or those two team are good fit for butler if the heat wants to move on from butler but I think the heat will keep him as long as they can
Could you imagine Butler on the Nuggets though? They would be clear favorites.
I don't agree with the take on the Nets entirely. If they are going to go a on a deep play off run, its not because of the scoring ability of Mikal Bridges, but more on the team defense, active hands help defense, they are a purely effort team; they do have scoring talent, but they are more effective offensively with ball movement, where the ball finds the open man.
Grizz have been great with players out upset very unlikely with everybody coming back except BC I don't even see how ppl think it would b
Buckets, Dame or Klay for Lakers
Kyrie should stay in Dallas take a more team friendly deal and they should get depth
Build around Bam
Stupid take.
I like the parity in the west. Could be an explosive first round
You put too much trust in the Nuggets eliminating the Mavs in the first round when they have split their regular season head to head with the Mavs with two of those games they traded one point wins. Luka and Kyrie are different animals in the playoffs, while Jokic and specially MPJ have yet to have that signature game in the playoffs. Jamal has his bubble god mode and if he can harness that again then maybe they could put away the Mavs out in the first round but knowing both teams, it'll be an offensive warfare defense be damned. 6 games atleast if they ever matched up with each other
Paulo is going to be the best player in the league in a few yrs. His first yr is better than lebron's first yr and he's more adapt for jump shooting than bron was. He also has high defensive potential as well
You start the video completely discounting teams getting in via the play in
How you feeling about trading himmy butler now!! #playoffjimmy
After how he just played in the finals I'd trade him for Tyrese Maxey in a heartbeat
@@DeadPoolLilCuzin1567 jimmy did better numbers in the finals than maxey against boston in the second round LOL... under 19ppg, barely 40%, in fact, you're not allowed to talk unless sixers can make it to a ECF or else you just sound dumb like this threecone guy.
Honestly I like the idea of kicking out the bottom teams
I get that the Grizz have been a bit of a shambles since Adams went down, and worse since Ja started spiralling, but that first take - oof, no respect to what the Nuggets or Kings have done this year. Yeah, the Nuggets have dropped a few games in a row - but who hasn't this year? They should win at least one series, especially with home court advantage. The Kings are a bit more vulnerable, but that's not due to how well they've been playing this year; that's largely due to a combination of two things: playoffs inexperience, and their success largely coming off of offense, whereas defense tends to be the thing that gets magnified in playoffs.
Good takes, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the kings lose, as they can’t stop teams scoring.
Hillbilly Mamba has been impressive.
Coby White and Demar Derozan and a pick for Jimmy back...?....🤔
OKC should trade for Butler, win-win for both teams
Whoever comes out of the east wins it all
Euroleague does relegation and promotion too.
Simons, Sharpe and 1st rounders for jimmy buckets to pair him with Dame
Miami Heat used to blow up their roster and rebuild
For mvp. I always vote for 2 way players. I've picked giannis the last 2 seasons. Jokic is great, future first ballot hof, but he's not a 2 way player and 2 way players have proven themselves to have higher value than a well rounded offensive player. Defense wins games still in 2023. I forgot.to mention I have switched my MVP pick from giannis who is now second to Joel Embiid, I'm putting Jokic and Tatum 3rd. I can't decide. Tatum ability to lead, facilitate, play 3 levels and play defense I want to pick him but we have never seen Jokic and I think that's why people salivate over him. I gotta see him in the playoffs with a healthy nuggets team
Is it a general thing about defense or is it cause jokic is a center?
I remember when even thinking the East was better then the West was blasphemy.
they not trading me bruh
I think Brooklyn is too wildy inconsistant to make it past the first round. When they get it right they'll steal a game or 2 from whoever they're against, so they're not getting swept like last years Nets, but they struggle to string good games together. Next season with a few more moves as much as they're expected to keep being mid to avoid the picks they gave away being too good, I think they'll be super competative with this group and a preseason together.
Since Kendrick made the MVP “race” a topic of discussion, the rankings have changed. Ppl don’t wanna be considered racist which I don’t think is fair to Jokic, and I’m black🤷🏾♂️. I will say that many ppl have deserved to 3peat at MVP and haven’t for the sake of parody. Embiid SHOULD get it because he deserves it just as much as jokic and hasn’t won.
You don't know how the play in works ? Dallas will win the first play in and play the kings. Luka and Kyrie can beat any offense by themselves. And Lakers have a chance to come out and play the nuggets in the first round. That's how these upsets will happen
you dont really get what getting promoted/relegated does do you? Atleast from how you explain the problems with it. Tanking would not be beneficial as when you get relegated you also loose the economy, the players, and usually a good number of fans. Along with the honor. Promotions usually means the opposite. free agents/ relegated players etc moves to the promoted teams or any other. As they get a economy boost. problem is most likely g-league infrastructure. Stadiums and so on. But the whole system is suited to a business and not a sport. So we get a bad end product. 82 games where none really matters.
Jimmy is retiring in Miami. They’ll trade Lowry, Herro, Robinson (basically everyone except Bam) and keep Jimmy till he hangs it up. He’s had his most success there and they’re not gonna do another Dwyane Wade and let their heart and soul leave/trade him. This is obvious to everyone that’s a Heat fan lol.
Bro is looking majestic 🤭
The Heat need to trade Bam. Jimmy clearly IS that guy. Bam gets outplayed by almost every opposing big.
Idk…I feel like I’d give it another year before the Heat blow it up. In 4 seasons we’ve had a finals run and an ECF run. I don’t wanna overreact to this sub par season and make a panic decision like the Lakers did after the 2021 playoffs but at the same time I completely understand the reasoning why blowing up this Jimmy Butler era in Miami seems like a good idea though
Try sending Houston to the g League lol or a New York Team
The west is weak, lot of teams star players have been injured for long periods of time
Low key I kinda hope my suns trade for butler. Trade ayton for butler. Imagine a lineup with butler at the point, booker, Durant
Heat would never go for that lol
delusional
Jimmy fits on the mavs
Jimmy Butler and Dame??
Yessirrrr I was futured 😃
Jimmy butler is carrying the heat
Why listen to stupid clueless youtuber lol. Not to mention OKC fan lol
Where?
Trade him to the nuggets for mpj and aaron
Jimmy Jazz ----->you heard it here first
The Heat have wasted Buttlers career,by getting all these G league players. I wouldn't trade Buttler, but would trade Herro,Lowry,Duncan,Depo,Sturs,Vincent,Love, and free up around 65 million, and get a true power forward, point guard,a SF,another power forward, plus,Jovic,Cain,Martin,Highsmith,Orlando Robinson, along with Bam,Buttler,Yurts. But we all know Riley won't get,or spend the money,to build a Championship team. Good luck Jimmy.
Far playoff run after far playoff run ain’t wasting his career bro hadn’t been out the second round his whole career before Miami now he’s been to multiple ecf and a finals
@@alexescutia4805 This year they will get bounced in the 1st round. And Bro that was the past, they haven't showed me nothing to prove they belong in the playoffs.

Hot Take: Miami should blow it up. Jimmy Butler a Milwaukee native played at Marquette just like Jae Crowder and Wes Matthews. Bucks trade Khris Middleton, Grayson Allen and a First for Jimmy Butler. Jimmy is on a 200 million contract and Kha$h Middleton's contract expires after next season. No point in Miami keep paying him if they aren't gonna be a contender. Let's go Bucks!
it’s gonna take like 4 firsts minimum and they still wouldn’t go for it for grayson allen’s bum ass 😂
They probably wouldn't take that. They would want at least two first rounds and a decent young player.
😂
Trade him for Tobias Harris
She like milk
If warriors play the nuggets, lakers play the kings, mavs play against Memphis and everyone is healthy then I think the top 3 seeds in the west will all lose in the first round
Oof.
Jimmy to the blazers for simmons and sharpe🤔
early
Butler is the most overrated player in the league
