I came here looking for a review of this bottle, which I am buying as a gift for a friend. Thank you, and thank you for the One Piece shout-out! great show
I feel like this was created to push the 15 Solera upscale. In my area the regular 12 is $45, this Sherry is $60 and the 15 is now $75. One and done for me, it's in line with Glendronach 12, Aberlour 12, Glenfarclas 12, Tandhu 12 etc.
Interesting. I did not think of that, but it tracks.
They have enough stock to always put out and "OK" whisky. I wish they would push quality though and release better whisky without, well crazy pricing. Some of thier top end stuff is really good, but priced really high. Thanks for the review, cheers!
The old Distillers Edition was 15yo and higher proof but pulled from the US market for Travel Retail only.
100% agree
I’ve enjoyed the Glenlivet 14 yo, finished in Sherry cask. Price wasn’t bad either.
No one should hate Glenfiddich or Glenlivet BUT if you drink a fair amount of whiskey variety, you may not "like" it because it is pretty one note for the masses. Which makes sense.
Agreed

It’s delicate for sure. Need to spend a little time with it. I don’t like it as much with water, honestly. I also get a stronger honey/toffee note when I nose it up and down, and a strong cherry cola when I nose it side to side. Weird, but interesting. Worth the 50 bucks a bottle, definitely.
Probably better to pay the extra and get the Glenfiddich 15 ?
Bart, the shirt is ok, but not at the level as the BOOM T-shirt😅. Great video, thanks Scott, thanks Bart.
Boom!
I enjoyed the 15yo solara 👍
Purple Nurple! 😆

It does sound like a life in sherry casks, but it does not specify how much time in the Amontillado cask. Glenfiddich & Glenlivet don't have any standard bottles that attract me and I've had my share. If their Independent Bottlers, then I'll take a look at them. Great review.
Thanks
Think this is set at price point to replace the 15 yo.
I wish it was at least 46% , but small positive it's 43 not 40)))))))

Nose was kinda flat, smelled more bourbony to me. Taste was ok, I got some sherry but not as much as I was expecting. Honestly I dont think it offers much over their regular 12 year bottle.
