- Recently I had an individual ask about a nail tutorial. She admires how I keep my nails. Well, since I had to put new nails on anyway....
I am no expert but I certainly can show y'all how I apply my nails and what I do it with. It's a bit disconcerting to show my flawed hands in such clear and closeup detail. But this is me, doing what I do. LOL. I hope it helps someone to learn how to apply glue on nails as well as to make you relaxed and sleepy while listening to soft speaking and tinkering.

You rock! I first got acrylic nails put on for my wedding (August 1980) with the intention of removing them when I returned from our honeymoon in Hawaii. While in Hawaii I just loved how great my hands looked with the nails and nobody asked me “what happened to your hand?” which I was always tired of hearing. In the 4th grade (1960s) I had a left hand injury and had my pointer, middle and ring fingers nearly severed but they were saved by a skilled hand surgeon. They have a scarring and my middle finger nail was damaged permanently so I don’t have a smooth nail on it, it’s thin and has many ridges. To make a long story even longer, by the time we came home from Hawaii I decided to keep the nails and have been wearing them since 1980 with no interruption. My late husband used to say that I wouldn’t miss a nail appt even if I were hospitalized because I’d go there on a gurney and attached to an IV. Lol. It’s my treat to myself each month. I now wear acrylics with color gel on top and they last me 3-4 weeks which is great and I added getting pedicures a couple of years ago so now it’s my hobby.
Wow! That’s a long time, Suzy! So, have you never taken them off to see how your nail beds are? Mine were a wreck. Had to quit the nail salon.
@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction I’ve never removed them in their entirety. My manicurist removes nails she feels need to be redone when I’m there getting a fill of the acrylic so I see how my nails look. They wouldn’t be very smooth to be sure but they aren’t very damaged. Probably take a few months to grow out an entire natural nail. My nails are paper thin naturally, they bend and tear easy so I like the acrylics and will keep them till I can’t any more.

Yes, it is sad to see my daughter go. Both daughters actually and my granddaughter. Your daughter moved away from where you live?
I moved away after marriage to another continent for work reasons. It's been 16 years, I have 2 children and I miss my family every day especially since I am a mother too❤ Best of luck to your daughters🙏
Hi Rebecca. What I was thinking while watching this is people don't know how something as simple as putting nails on yourself don't think twice about doing it. With having a stroke and being left with only one hand left to use can be so frustrating to me. Nothing against anybody of course it's just rather sad for me. I envy you girl. I know that must be such grief for you, Rebekka. It is the simple things that we take for granted. I feel that impact right now as I recover from total knee replacement surgery. Before that, I was limping and I never kneeled down. I’m probably going to have to do the left one next year. Getting old and/or being ill is so hard. It’s a thief and a robber. But thank God we have a promise of new bodies in Christ when we shall see Him face to face. 🤗😘❤️❤️❤️
Yes you're so right my sister. I never thought I would have a stroke at my age,(58 on Thursday the 18th) or at any age for that matter. Things come up so unexpectedly. And please don't get me wrong when I say this to you. But because of your own discomfort and pain I know you can truly understand what I going through too. Hi Rebecca! It's been a while since I left you a comment, but here I am still looking for kiss nails advive from you. Thank you for the tutorial, I trim them too. However I would like them to last a whole month in a perfect world 😅 Salon manicure looks amazing but of course it is more pricey. I think it's worth it but I dont allocate that kind of budget to my manicure in this season of my life. I hope you are doing really well ❤
Hey Jor! 🙋🏻♀️ it’s so good to hear from you. After Covid hit and I was forced to go to HomeKit nails, I couldn’t bring myself to go back to the salon. There’s at least a couple of reasons. One is that I just did not want the damage to my nails from having acrylics on for so long. Second, what is the cost. I had to go back every two weeks to get a fill so that they would look nice and current. so basically, I am saving hundreds of dollars by doing this by myself. And honestly, I love being free of the nails a lot of the time. So much that I like to do will damage them. No matter what kind. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to the salon.

I’ve worn kiss press on nails before but it didn’t last long in the shower and that the glue won’t last longer, But now a days I get my nails done and offer Nail extensions with acrylics and gel nail polish.
Thank you for that information. You sound very experienced. I bought Static nail glue because I wanted my nails to come off more quickly. It was advertised as a less harmful and easy-to-remove glue. I liked using something that brushed on instead of oozing out all over the place. I don't love wearing nails when I'm not making videos. So I needed something super temporary. Therefore, I have moved on to adhesive impress nails. They're not damaging the top of my nails and they stay on through washing the dishes and taking a shower. 😂😂 Any advice on how to remove adhesive tab nails more quickly than with just soap and water?

You could soak in oil and water to remove them
That would work pretty well with these nails. But it does take a lot longer than acetone. I love this glue that I’m using because water and washing dishes will help them all come off within a couple of days.

Thank you, Arwen. I started doing my own glue on nails exclusively when covid hit us all. Going to go back to acrylic here soon because I need nails that I can really work in that won't pop off. Renovations on our home makes it tough to deal with glue on nails 💅.

How long do they last?
It depends on how much glue you put on them and what kind of glue. As I said, in the video, this glue that I’m using is purposely designed to have a shorter span of time. But if I put on more glue, it will last up to two weeks. And remember, it’s no big deal if a nail falls off to glue it again.

@@funkibunz4420 Well, one blessing is that I have no pain whatsoever. It’s just a slow and normal progressive arthritis that comes with old age. I’m 62. Thank goodness I do not have rheumatoid arthritis or anything that is debilitating or painful.

Why this effort, why the very long nails, I think everything moderate is more beautiful.
This is my opinion and for sure everyone does what he likes.
I really enjoy acrylic nails, because it lengthens my fingers. I think it makes my hands look prettier. However, I am too practical to wear these most of the time. I’m too active a person to put up with such obstacles. Therefore, I only wear them for my videos. I definitely don’t wear them this length. This was just a tutorial. In my next video you will notice they are much shorter.
