If you understand that a CD transport outputs the digital signal to be converted by an external digital-to-analog converter(DAC), then you already know what a network transport does. It handles everything you need to stream/serve music minus the conversion of the signal from digital to analog. So if you see the term “transport,” it just means you’ll need to provide it with a DAC. Thanks for asking!
Have had a HIFI Rose RS150 for about 3 years now...KEY item in a streamer is usability of app...HIFI Rose app is very wonky and not stable over long term...nothing is more frustrating than this...this is the downside of such a feature rich product...such a feature rich product requires a very complex app to support all the features...I also have found their support to North America is not great...would not buy again
That is Why you have the remote then when that goes wonky you walk up to it. Unlike the cheapskate bastard node 2i which has never gone wonky on me or required a remote or me having to open up the cabinet to touch it. I'm sure your rose sounds way better though.
This is so bad! The presenter does not understand potential buyers of this machine, talks about it as if it was a lifestyle product instead of a true audiophile hi end streamer...
@@joeythedime1838 I really don't think so. This is a very specialised box doing just one very particular thing. So unless you are an obsessive audiophile you would not care for it at all.
I have one on order, should be here soon. Finally a high end streamer WITHOUT a dac.
What dac are you using?
It doesn't matter if you use the digital outputs!
It doesn’t have an OLED screen. I have one and it does have an amazing screen, but it’s an TFT LCD
Hi , great rewiew , great streamer , strait forward , thanks !!!
So no dac, but you don't cover the outputs?
VU meters still not in sync with the music?
I get what a CD transport is transporting. But a network transport?

@@upscaleaudio so how does this differ from a streamer? Semantics?
Great, but how does it sound?
Great presentation! You need to be the face of Upscale’s video.

Interesting experience. I was thinking of going with a 130 and separate DAC. Today I have a Cary Audio DMS-700 streamer/dac.
Their support is leaves a lot to be desired

Have you listened to this streamer. It does sound great. I have put some ear time on RS130 with several DACs and it performs at a high level.
@@georgechronis3169 I agree.!
I think this product bridges the lifestyle product market with true audiophile performance.

@@zaldam Well I am thinking of a HIFIRose RS130 and Chord Dave, so I guess an obsessive audiophile.
