I've been reading Krishnamurti's words since I was 19, I'm now 73 and still not entirely sure of my understanding of his words but at least living a simpler life without being a burden to anyone.
"Don't study yourself in books but, you look at your own life" JK words and "The observer is the observed" was a statement that inspired me to begin listening to JK until now.
Back in the early 80s, a friend mentioned in passing that he was attending a Krishnamurti seminar. That was my first and only exposure of the world teacher. Then in the late 90s, I purchased several books of his. I didn’t really understand any of his teachings but I read them anyway. And I kept reading them. Fast forward to now, I still have those books. They’re just a few of the things I’ve kept in my life of 65 years. Thankfully, we have many videos of this great teacher on the internet. Thank you for posting this video!
Hi from India. Thanks for video. If u visit Krishnamurti foudation in Bangalore valley school or chennai, adayar, you will find people are of same wavelength n peaceful, wise and broadminded outlook yet humble to learn more...
He is a greatest original thinker in the world. He delved deep into the Truth and unveiled new dimensions hitherto unknown even to the highly educated. Unless you ponder again and again you cannot perceive what he meant to drive home. Highly evolved soul beyond one's comprehension.
I am right now here at pepper tree! And they did some upgrades now. I dont have words about my experiance here in ojai. Downtown ventura is beutifull too.
Ah aaah ! Wonderful, as after his renunciation to be a guru, have disciples, fame, etc., and after he gave back the money, castles and many properties offered to him, he experienced hunger, poverty, molestation by the guy supposed to take care of him, and uncertainty. Krishnamurti was not an « organizer » and not enslaved by possessions.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I had been to the retreat in 2012 and remains one of my most memorable times on this planet. It was the month of March, and it was raining, and the whole Ojai valley was as quite, serene and beautiful as any place could be. I did not take as many pics as I would have liked - followed JK's teachings of living in the moment :-) - until I started writing a book, and suddenly needed to remember the place! Lo and behold, I find your only video! Thank you so much! Mind if I take conversations in this video as inspiration for scenes in the book? Thank you in advance.

I wish I could follow him for a single day to know him, for master teaches without teaching. I don't like the sound of him having his own staff... but I guess it was forced on him, he used to say "the speaker is not important" and "one can't find truth in knowledge" which are books, ha was critical about it. Many people called him a hypocrite and it is easy to see why, I think all spiritual teachers called out as hypocrites, especially alan watts who was considered an alcoholic by those close to him.
"Theism atheism christianity islam communism capitalism , etcetera . They are all separatists and wrong . Good to believe in absolutely nothing . Just be alive and enjoy your life , calmly ." Words by Jiddu .
I think K would be bemused. It is a house and home. Not a shrine. But rather nice to receive such ease of welcome rather than " sorry but this place is private etc ". K would probably say " forget who lived here and just look at it!".
Not bad considering he didnt pay for any of it. Money, land, taxes, wealth, etc where all handled by other people. I like alot of what he has to say, but he was really naïve to think that people are going to eagerly change or that a relatively small grp of ppl can "awaken" the rest of us. We are still violent perhaps not as violent historically but it is still there. We continue to live this tribal divisive conflicting society. We still hold arms and armies. Because well if we dont arm "they" will. If we dont defend ourselves the tanks will roll in and take what we have. Such distrust. The problem is well it's probably true. THere are those who will take what you have if you let them. We have shed blood sweat and tears for what we built. THat is not so idly just pissed away. K never had kids or a family to worry about. Freedom indeed. Most kids to raise. Mouths to feed. This can be a very unforgiving world quite apart from human society. Do you expect people to just go off somewhere and die quietly? Unless he lays his life down and dies for it the way he tells others to, it rings hallow to me. I feel K never really lived in the same world most people are forced to contend with everyday. K lived a relatively secluded life. He lived and benefited from this western society that he in the same breathe condemns. He probably would say "well lets change it". That's easy to say when you have amazing fertile land, large property for growth and nurturing of chickens, trees, gardens, etc. Food he probably took for granted and mostly had other people farming or buying from grocery. It's easy to say when you have an amazing house like this just literally handed to you by rich white people who are as as K says disordered and lost as the rest of us. Did K enjoy electricity? He certainly enjoyed cars and driving. DId he mine the metal? Mine the coal? Pave the roads? Construct the vehicle? Maintain the car? He even had a driver. What luxuries that most of us have to work our lives for. He was a trust funder. It took care of him his entire life. He benefiteed from this trust. He waves his finger at the rest of us while benefitting like this. Despite what he's saying. "Lets change it for gods sake". It's not that simple. Change it how? Topple the dollar? That CANT happen. People are not ready to let go of money. You cant pull the foundations out from under this country. You think things will improve? God no. Talk about disorder. It would be CHAOS. Our country is still among the top five in this world. It is still the land of opportunity and abundance. Could we do it differently? Sure. How? Listen to K talks? Very few if any understand what he is rambling about. That's why so many kept going to his talks. Well maybe ill get it this time. He gives no answers and perhaps rightly so since the answers are not to be had by one person. If we want to have peace, then we all have to step up and make it happen.
His world view was very simplistic and common sense. Probably very truthful. Unfortunately unrealistic. He was nothing more than a regular man who some powerful people groomed to become , as they believed , a “ world savior “. He struggled to maintain that persona. Attracted attention around a time when people were desperate for a savior. Didn’t live too bad for such a simple man.
As K said himself, if what he spoke about was just a worldview or philosophy, then it was pointless listening to him or anyone else. It is only worth listening if what was stated was the truth or facts. But how do we know if what he said was the truth? We don't. That is why, as K repeated again and again, ultimately each one of us has to find out by himself.

He was a fan of detective stories

Like a “pilgrimage” . The opposite of K’s teachings... Filming is low quality as well.
