About 5 years ago I started putting self love in to practice. I quit smoking. Got rid of bad relationships. Quit drinking alcohol. Got back in to the dance studio. Started a workout regimen. Changed my diet. Changed my sleep schedule. Started therapy. I “date” myself; take myself to movies, dinner, and other events. Travel with intention (yoga retreat) and try my very very best to keep self talk positive.
It is hard work and sometimes scary but soooo worth it.
The other day the instructor to a workout video I just finished said “thank you for showing up for yourself” I started to cry.
    Show up for yourself ❤️
UPDATE: May 1st 2020. A little over a year from writing this comment. I just wanted to share for anyone who needs to hear it.
All of the changes I made helped me come off of antidepressants that I had taken for 21 years for anxiety and depression (of course with the help and guidance of a doctor and therapist) I was also able to come off of medication I was taking for I.B.S as well as birth control pills for terrible periods.
I have have been medication free for one full year 😊

loveing your self is not about looking in the mirror or taking a selfie thinking how hot you look or delivering your self in a way to act and look as you think others think you should...
Self love is more like self respect in the fact we have been given the gift of life...
Love your self enough to not drink to much or poison your body and mind with toxic things... love your self enough to take care of your body, not for vanity but for the health and vitality of your body...
Taking care of your body and mind because life is a gift and the fact that you are here is a mirrical...
You are a mirrical, so love your self and others around you deeply with nothing but respect.

In high school, I always asked other people for their opinion before I make a decision. I don't want other people hated me. I tried so hard to make other people happy, but I'm not. I feel so stress, anxiety and crying alone. No one knows. I let people insulted me, as long as them happy. I said to myself, "It's okay, as long them happy, I will be happy". Unfortunately, I'm not. After I finish my high school, I learn to love myself and put it as my first priority. Now I appreciate myself and I don't care about other peoples opinion. Why? Because I want to be happy, I want to be my own self.

Last year, October to December, I was in a relationship where I started to lose myself and my problems ran deeper than my spouse, yea we had our issues but the relationship interrupted my healing process and I was not where I wanted to be so I had to let him go even though I really loved him. I had to start my self growth journey for me because I wanted to be somewhere mentally and physically. Now, in February 2022, I am finally healing from my break up and childhood trauma. I took on journaling, manifestations, working out, self love & business seminars, affirmations, college applications and I feel myself growing as a person and as a women. I continue to remind myself sometimes we all have to lose before we win and I have gotten closer to God and he has blessed me in ways, that I am forever grateful for. Some days I miss my ex but I remind myself that I am doing this for me and I am at peace and happy with the life I am living now. All I can say is stay positive, motivated and pray❤️. Thank you for letting me know I’m on the right path.

Once I stopped getting mad at my parents and other people who hurt me and stopped putting my energy there, amazing things happened. To come to a place with yourself to accept who you are within is so beautiful to me. Losing myself was the biggest struggle I ever had to deal with . And then to try and express yourself to hopefully seek help but instead be told how I’m using this because “ I wasn’t getting what I want in the moment and that there is nothing wrong with you.” Imagine not feeling safe in your own company . A world full of people and still feeling alone. Learning to love yourself before loving other brought so much life to my world . And I am happy to say that I am somewhere that I dreamt about for years .

i knew i had the strength to pick myself up but i didn’t know how strong i was.
i believe that happiness is something you create for yourself by your own.
personal growth has to be intentional. it doesn’t happen by accident.
the more you focus energy on getting to know yourself, staying alone, the more you realize how happy and stable you become. you become the person you want to be rather than the person you are told to be.
without self love you take away from the ability you have to pour into others’ life from kindness to love to helpfulness…
the relationship i have with myself is the most important relationship.
am i giving value to myself? know your worth so the universe knows too.

Beautiful, deep, and reflexive journey thru this speech. So much truth, honesty, empathy, and respect for what life means. And it starts in ourselves. Such a mythical connection that we can create with our souls and feel it with others too. I call it "the awakening". Magical

I started not loving my self when I got into middle school, and it gotten worse since then, mostly cause I don't have very good social skills, and quarantine made it worse. So I'm trying to love myself, workout, doing everything I can to feel confident. So thank you.

I am aware of my emotions. I'm thoughtful and polite. I use my senses to the best of their capability. I'm good and I do good for others. People love me for my attitude. I'm a clean and calm soul. Anger, frustration, and disgust are no longer part of my behavior. I accept people as they are and I love myself before anyone else.🎈

Self-love for me is basically all about how much you LIKE YOURSELF.
I have been using the affirmation "I like myself" the past 2 weeks and my interactions with other folks have been awesome so far.
They were saying that I am witty and funny.
I learned that affirmation from Brian Tracy's videos.
    Pretty cool affirmation 😍😍😍

If we could understand why someone as beautiful as yourself had such a lack of self love, then perhaps we could help a lot of other people that don't have half of what you poses. Congratulations, you exude confidence and you actually look the part of what you've described yourself wanting to be, a model, in more ways than one. As a role model you now have a tremendous responsibility to act accordingly; therefore the best thing you can do, is to expand the the love of self or self love to all sentient beings that share our planet with us. Help save the planet, share the love ❤️

This was.. a life changing rant about this kind of subject that I deal with. It's something that I am having trouble finding, and listening to this video really inspired me to find my self love. I actually talked to my mom about my self worth, and my insecurities, because I saw pictures of myself that my friend gave me of me and her. I hated, and still do hate the way I look. But, tomorrow is where I start, I'm sick and tired of being sad and feeling these emotions in which I don't want to feel anymore. I'm only thirteen, but I'm so tired of my negative thoughts, and it's not going to change if I don't do anything. I need, and a lot of other people needed this video for inspiration. Again, thank you.

    - dont try to please everyone
    - you are you, your happiness (not depend on someone to make u worthy)
    - dont live for some weird standards
=> be intentional of personal growth process
=> love yourself first and inspire to others’ lives, add value
--> where u are currently VS where u want to be
