Essendon was Melbourne‘s major airport prior to the opening of Tullamarine in 1969. The Beatles arrived there in 1964 that was the biggest news possibly to happen there.
Unfortunately the Link flights now operate out of Tullamarine. A real shame as I traveled with Link because they used Essendon. Great Service at Essendon, Wollongong and Brisbane, I think they moved to Tullamarine due to their link with Virgin for transfer passengers.
Great video! I have flown with that airline on this route, and really enjoyed the experience myself :) Beautiful scenery along the way I am hoping to try out other routes with Link soon (maybe CBR - HBA next?) At least you got to the airport just in time for boarding after JQ's delay 😌
@@YoungAussieFlyer I understand. Well if you do come and fly with Air Chathams, I hope to be your flight attendant onboard your flight. I am a flight attendant for Air Chathams.
Have flown Link a few times in this and the BNE-WOL routes. A lot more reliable than their predecessor. Would love them to go back to their original schedule. Morning down to MEB and back in the later afternoon. New terminal at Shellharbour is a winner as well.
Great review, I personally love Link Airways, and honestly consider them Australia's best airline.
Really? I know it's good but the best?
@@Osbar_ just my personal opinion but to me yeah, though really every Aussie airline could be considered someone's favourite
@@TheHobartAviationFan cool
Totally agree!
Choice of snacks is a really nice touch. Never been with Link, but thinking I should keep them in mind :)
They’re an excellent regional airline!
Another great vid❤
Nice mate. I hope you visited HARS too!
Thank you Paul! I didn’t visit this time but I have visited many times in the past
Great review of link airways, I found this review really helpful as I’m travelling with link airways very soon from Brisbane to Canberra.
Thank you so much again! I hope you enjoy your flight to BNE I'm certain you will!

Yes I am aware
Really curious about taking flight from this airport. Maybe i’ll try it next year
It’s a good airport, especially for those who want a quick ride to/fro Syd Bne or Mel
Brilliant review YAL, definitely looks like a unique experience flying out of Essenden without the security!
It really is something else, I always find it bizarre when there is no security…there has to be a reason
@@YoungAussieFlyer Meanwhile in NZ there is no screening for flights under 90 seats even out of the major airports!
How is this legal????

I loved the SAAB 340B I flew on Air Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. Beats the Bandierante 110s. So noisey.
I’ve always wanted to fly the EMB 110 - ngl I really like the aircraft design
Great video!

I so want to try their CBR-HBA service or potentially their Coffs Harbour to Brisbane
You should fly and try Air Chathams of New Zealand on their SAAB 340s.
I’ve been wanting to try them! It’s just very hard my with work

Alas you can’t have everything you ask for, I just wish JetGo was still operating
What about air north is still operating?
I shall be flying air north this weekend!
I love how they give you all that food always a nice touch not like Jetstar they give you NOTHING🙄
What do you expect when you can pay as low as $39 for a one way flight?
That is true but when you pay extra for more than 7kg its often not much cheaper than rex or virgin Australia@@YoungAussieFlyer
