Hideous Airline employ Australians to crew the plane.. I love Singapore Airlines anyday over poor old Qantas its lost its way because of that Queer CEO who once ran it..

Back in 2022, as part of a visit to Australia from England, I took one of these flights from Sydney down to Bendigo Victoria and it was superb. The crew were so friendly and informal, the service was great and everyone onboard was chatting to each other. This was probably the best flight I have ever been on. The fact that it flew at 18000 ft meant that the views were fantastic. My journey to Australia was in a First class cabin but this flight beat that hands down. Will be going back to Oz again in 2025 and will be taking the same flight, I am really looking forward to it :)

Looking forward to it. Didn't realise you could fly from the bush capital to the Goldy! I remember flying Cairns to Canberra on the 717 now that was an experience!

Australia's largest city, yet still doesn't have rail or tram connections to the airport.

Looks like a long trek to the baggage claim in Perth T2.

I've flown Rex only once way back in 2021 from Sydney back down home to Melbourne, it was quite an interesting experience, they did feel rather like a generic airline, they were extremley tidy though and the prices are quite reasonable as far as Aussie standards are concerned.

It took many years before I did my first flight to Perth from Melbourne. It was with Ansett on a 767. I was meeting a school mate who lives there. I had not seen him since 1977. But the airfare was OK. Unlike the early days when TAA and Ansett and Qantas had airfares in the $1500 price range. Australia is not a cheap place to explore. That's why I spent my early years of travel offshore. Showing my age again. Cheers.

What a great flight review as always, after flying rex from ADL to MEL they are definitely up and are a very good airline. Hopefully a bit more competition on this route brings the prices. My only thing about the flight is the times which is probably out of their control as it is based on when they can get slots, secondly I completely agree with you with the lack of food, at least on flights to Perth they should offer something more than two small snacks, especially at the times they fly at in the evening. Keep it up!

Aaahhh... PNG. The Land of the Unexpected... but always be prepared to expect the unexpected ...like flights taking off without some of us left behind during the check in process., beetle nut cargo given priority over passenger baggage, etc, etc . Used to travel in an out of POM between 2007 and 2009 from Singapore and then onwards to Popendetta, Alatau and Kaviieng. Flown on Air Niugini's 767, Fokker F100s and Dash 8. Still brings back good and bad memories but will always cherish for along time to come. Thanks for taking us on the trip.

Love the 767. It used to be the work horse of Air New Zealand from Melbourne to Auckland and on to the Cook Islands. And i flew Delta 767 from Atlanta to Orlando. Qantas from Melbourne to Auckland. No winglets in the late 90s. I saw Air Nugini 767 at Melbourne. I still have the photo. Pre digital, remember film. Cheers. Yes Ansett had them too.

I’m so glad you enjoyed our state and city, the clam chowder as well 😊. I will always opt out from any budget American domestic airline, (Spirit, Frontier, American Airlines) get into my car and drive thousands of miles instead of having to deal with substandard flights and expected inept basic customer service needs we get here in the US. Good choice on Alaska Airlines, but as basic a choice for ‘first class’ as one can get in America. A very far cry from Emirates I took in December. Looking forward to my Air New Zealand flight to Cook Islands in September 😊 a very hefty fare in premium economy, but according to the reviews, almost worth it. Thank you for the review!

Wow, so this airline has gone full budget mode. No seat back entertainment, even on new aircraft. Also no dividers between 'business class' and the plebs!
