- Since we originally launched The Amp in 2018, the landscape of guitar effects has changed - Milkman Sound is excited to introduce The Amp Stereo - a high headroom analog stereo (or dual mono) amplifier in pedal format. The Amp Stereo is designed to be an amplifier for stereo effects, wet/dry, multi instrumentalists, or whatever you can think of to plug in. Available July 25th 2023
Loooove how this turned out. Thanks so much for having me out for this; the amp stereo is incredible.
Is it weird to say that seeing you playing in the demo was the last straw that made me press order? I love my Amp 50 and can’t wait for this
@@noahzeidman508 I'm right there with ya brother!!!!
@@cheintz44 got mine today and it’s so, so good
@@noahzeidman508 I'm ordering soon!
@markjohnstonofficial I love that they got you to demo this… perfect pairing!
We are in a golden age of gear 😊
If I were touring this would be the centerpiece of my pedalboard. I'd probably use it in a studio too. These things sound absolutely great. It was very smart of Milkman to get into the pedal amp field because this is the future. Everything's going here.
Thank you sooooooo much for making a high headroom amp! A pedal format, stereo, high headroom, tube preamp amplifier. This is exactly what I’m looking for in amp. My search is now over. I can’t wait until I can afford to buy one. Amazing job, and thank you again for bringing this beauty into the world!
It does sound great - and it does so without tubes. There are no tubes in this box!
@@evanjohnson2961 yea I found that out after I posted that comment. Tubes don’t make or break a product for me anyway
You’ve outdone yourself, Tim. I can’t wait to start using this.
Excellent tutorial so useful good job.
Thanks for including the baritone in the demo, handles it great! I'm sold!
Any idea what baritone that is? Looks nice
Smart. Very smart. 👍
Man I need one of these, this is insane
Wonderful job on this! Congrats
Looks amazing. Will be copping it soon
Needs Midrange controls, Presence controls, Effects loops, and a line out effects loop before going into a speaker IR simulators pedal
I agree!!! Definitely needs a midrange and presence and effects loop. That’s what I was was expecting to see here.
I agree 100%! Needs Mid EQ, Presence control, STEREO EFFECTS LOOP!!.... & apart from that stereo 1/4" line output (with a switch that turns On or Off the Cab Sim) & also another stereo output with XLR output connectors with the Cab Sim....but somehow these options are never built-in to these kind of devices.... So i guess, i will have to wait a little longer for that dream stereo pedal size amp for my poor stereo pedalboard....
Nah. It doesn’t. It’s perfect just like it is. There are plenty of modelers that have all that out right now.
Back to the drawing board {:
@@lankududniteshift with all those features, it would have to be a lot bigger and probably twice the price. Or a trade off for having a power amp section. But I like the power amp since the 1/4” outputs are balanced. It also doesn’t need an effects loop because it’s extremely clean/high headroom - wet effects should just go after distortion or other amp modelers
The only thing missing… the ability to switch between Left and Right or stereo (both)
Say you were running an IR-X and IR-D (or two other separate) preamps on the same pedalboard.
You might want to just run one or the other… or blend them together… or have FX with only one, for a wet-dry setup.
I guess you could do your guitar into an A/B/Y switcher then into this… but man that simple ability built in would be the shizzy!!
Can't wait! Cheers, D
Absolutely smashed it. The market has been crying out for this.
Looks great Tim! I have your The Amp 100 and every time I take it out, without fail, someone says "MAN that sounds GREAT!"
Been wanting someone to do this for a
wet/dry/wet rig.
Same .. I still need to figure out this phase thing, I run a 2x12 with a plug and play plate ... Don't know how the wiring would work with it. Any takes?
Oh, you got Mark in your video? You arent messing around!! lol Looks nice.
What a tool. Very cool. I’m always impressed
Just got mine today!
Yet another stellar product from Milkman...bravo!
This turned out amazing!
Wonderful! I want one. 🎸
I hope i can afford this . Seriously practical stereo set.
They’re priced at $799 right now
Tim is the goat. 🤘🏻🦔
Some of the upper harmonics are a bit scratchy but the form factor is incredible. So easy if portability is a must.
*WELL DONE!*
Damn! Can’t be the price either! 🤘🏻❤️
Love the demos of these. Gonna have to check one out
Wow the demo and vid are stunning! very cool
I have the 50w version. Love it to death. But stereo? Awesome stuff and I'll be trading up!
I love this sound!! so beautiful!
Need one!!
Sick
Considering what a kind of massive P in the A running a stereo rig usually is, this is really cool.
Nice. Be great to hear a demo of the amp without effects! How does it differ from using the the preamps on an audio interface and daw software for home studio use - what are its inherent characteristics/attributes in terms of sound? Is it just high headroom clean with a basic eq and cab-sim (not a bad thing!)? Thanks.
Mark Johnstons channel has a massive review of it where he goes over it completely dry, how he decides to gain stage it, and how it interacts with his board etc
But his basic review of it was that it’s an incredibly flat, extremely clean (barely at edge of breakup when driven from the pedal itself), pedal platform amp.
please consider upgrading your basic milkman pedal amp to the 300w icepower module. I have found the existing module you currently use to not have quite enough power for many group situations.
Want sure how it was actually stereo for my effects, but upon further investigation and seeing it has ins for left and right, it should be proper!
sounds great! when will it be available in the uk? seems like it was in store for about 5min and nothing since then
Curious, how does it take pedals like ToneX, HX Stomp & etc; ?
🤘😈🤘🔥🔥🔥
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You should put a link in your description.
can I hear stereo in headphones with this amp? I tested The amp 100 before and it was amazing.
Mark did a wonderful job with his demo. Congrats! Did he use either of his preamps or any preamps at all into the pedal? Or was that strictly his guitar/FX straight into the amp? Well done!
hype
Great video and awesome units. Can I run wet/dry rather than stereo? (splitting my signal chain after my drives, so the dry goes to one channel/a amp and the drives + wet effects go to the other channel/amp).
100%! The two channels can be totally independent like this
@@noahzeidman508 fab, thank you.
That's actually kinda cool. Pretty affordable way to have a stereo rig and also use my guitar cabs!
Interesting! I don't see the stereo amp for sale on your website!
Just purchased! Can we look forward to a decksaver or nah?
I use a bi-amp set up : basically split my signal to have guitar sound and bass sound. This Amp Stereo looks rad, to have 2 amps in on pedal. Is it possible to bypass one of the 2 channels / amp ? @milkmansound
May be a stupid question, how are you running overdrive pedals in front so that they can affect both sides? Using an ABY splitter?
Does it accept line level from the fx loop of an amp? in order to use it in a W/D/W rig
If I just wanna use this for recording only. Should I get the stereo or the 100?
I’ve always recorded 2 takes and panned left and right for stereo. I understand this would make it easier but does it sound better? I would appreciate any and all input / advice. Thanks
Can you plug the speaker outs into studio monitors or does it have to be cabs? Cheers
OK, heat dispersion, I live in the tropics and we do 2 hour set, will it catch on fire? I'm not being a smartass, it's happened (think Marshall TLS)!
Will this be a multi tap as far as power goes? In order to use anywhere overseas without power conversion??
Where is the slide guitar demo?
Nice, but $800 with no FX loop? Maybe I missed something.
Wonder if I could run this amp into my OX?
so do I understand correctly that this should go last in chain? so after all my pedals? how to assure that my signal is high enough when going through my pedal board (if this is after)
This is going to be available in europe?
Where can I get this in Europe?
My main problem with "the amp" is that sometimes I want to use distortion and the amplifier does not have an effect loop,
I understand it's still not possible right?
If the amp is clean, you don’t really need an effects loop - just place your wet FX after your distortion pedal
The additional headroom is amazing; as long as you’re getting your distortion from pedals (which is necessary since the amp doesn’t really distort a lot on its own), it works great with wet effects after distortion and right into the amp
Can this unit plug in the amp I have or does it require a special type of amp?
Wow, do we get to listen to you talk over us playing when we get one? Because that's just great.
No FX Loop, now what? Otherwise nice product!
Would this work with a QuadCore?
does this have an effects loop?
High headroom Princeton in a box?🤔
Great idea as always! However, I'll wait until you come up with something similar but with tubes inside instead of solidstate.
ain’t nothing wrong with solid state my dude
@@tompoynton Who said there is? I simply much much prefer the tube characteristics and attitude, that's all. Actual high voltage tube driven stuff sound more open, 3D, and musical to me. Cheers
Add tubes and you add size and weight and even more cost. As well as the reliability issues inherent to tubes. The whole point here is to have things light, compact and absolutely bulletproof. Perfect for a touring musician when space/weight are an issue, and when there are no roadies to lug shit for you.
Oh yeah I'm totally paying a thousand dollars for that.
Seems to be a great sonic toolbox, but having no FX loop (send-return), is a huge miss, and make a lot of musicians with a load of pedals/fx (like me) refrain getting one. You must have thought of this, so why did you omit this important feature?
A few reasons: the first one is that amplifiers with effect loops are inherently more unreliable than those without. The second is that in my experience with a high headroom preamp (no saturation) you do better running the entire pedalboard into the front end. There is no dirt to be had here to muddy time based effects. The Stereo is extremely simple and meant to go at the end of the line. Adding a loop would make this pedal less appealing in my opinion
@@milkmansound Thank you for your response. Interesting, as many brands choose a different approach, it certainly made me more curious on testing this out. What do you mean by "unreliable", more noisy, less punch, or?
Bass vi at 6 min mark?
Castedosa Conchers Baritone
this or UAFX dream?
NuX Amp Academy!!
.
1:10
But don't ordinary amps do that?
Somehow theres people that think that if you use 2 monitors you can hear a tiny box better.
Whose the guys playing guitar? Seems like a guy who's not even into pedals at all or anything...
Just kidding! i LOVE sECRET wEAPONS Mark.
let me guess..before i even check. it’s like $1500 …am i close? lol ..no thanks
Whoops.
Didn’t hear any chug.
