Thanks for taking the financial hit of buying all of the ebrake handles! In my experience ASD has the best tolerances. It just sucks that they make a handle that’s literally as uncomfortable as it could possibly be
Thanks heaps bro very informative Haha. I'm in the market for one at the moment so very handy knowing these things. I love my Part Shop Max one I have in my S13 but my 4 seater cefiro I wana change it up. We will see. Cheers bro
This is amazing content! I’m literally in the market for one right now. I have a question about installing a reservoir on an in-line style master. Is it possible to have banjo reservoir and replace that with a short SS line to relocate the reservoir? I don’t see why not but I’m not sure if that would affect the performance of the master. Obviously try to keep it above the master so that it doesn’t run dry. Is that a good idea? Considering this for packaging reasons in my 2014 mustang
If this would have been a week sooner video I probably would have bought that knock off ASD one cuz I was looking at it but I wasn't sure on how good it actually was
Fielding do you drift/drive in sim? I saw that fanatec e-brake haha. There's a huge drift community on assetto corsa (the original not the new compitizione one) that would love to drive with you. There's already a bunch of pro 2 dudes streaming and making content on there too because of everything going on so you would fit right in!
great vid bro, are you planning on making some simulator drifting vids during the quarantine? would actually be sick to see a real drifter compare the 2 and have some fun on assetto corsa or something like that
The "pretty good bang for the buck one," was that the Osias or was it the Kyostar brand on Amazon? They look the same but i don't know which one he has.
I run a small one man engineering / cnc machining shop. I designed and developed that hand brake in Australia. It was tested in the revs rotary drift car and our dirt circuit car, before I started small batch production runs and sold maybe 20 overseas as a premium product. It had no free play at all and run replaceable nylon bushing and a hardened ground pin. At that time it was one of the only fully billet hyd brake on the market. Unfortunately a customer sent theirs to China and copied it exactly (except the quality of machining and materials) and even used my business name to sell them for a fraction of the price. I couldn’t buy the race quality slave cylinder in my kit for what they are now selling the complete, cheap Chinese knockoffs for. The latch was included as our dirt circuit club pits is on slight slope and the handle can be reversed to run in a standard handbrake position.
I need one for a parking brake that last at least long enough to chock the wheels. Which is the advantage of one with a reservoir? Is it easier on the Master Cylinder? The obvious disadvantage is the possibility of spillage or getting in the way of something.
that one that is 90-100 that copies the asd i bought and built a real working hydro for my sim with, uses a 1000psi pressure sensor and a wilwood clutch slave, and a DSD control board, so far its been great. nit tjay rubber thing in the master lip/cap somehow expanded and it touches the bottom of ther master, not sure if its supposed to uncollapse and do that but makes it hold less fluid then i thought it should,
Awesome, I was planning to do the exact same thing with the knockoff ASD. Can you show me the parts list you used please? This is the parts list I built, can you tell me if it's correct please? imgur.com/a/qsPk8I8

@@FieldingShredder Love chasebays stuff but one complaint I have is my reservoir tends to leak a bit from the bottom. They were nice and sent me a replacement o-ring to fix it but longterm can become a pain.
I'm thinking about purchasing the chase bays handbrake. Would it be crazy to drill the hole bigger and use a sheared bolt with a lock nut for perfect fitment?
2 minutes into the video I got super disappointed because I thought you were going to mount them all in your car and use them lol.... But you don't : /////
Really appreciate this video, thank you. I've been looking at the knockoff ASD handbrake as a replacement Fanatec handbrake for my sim rig and so it's nice to know the quality is up there. As I don't actually have one or worked with one in a real car, I'm unsure on what fittings to use for the brake lines. I'm UK based so bear that in mind, but can anyone point me in the right direction please? Should I use AN3 fittings? I'm confused.
@@chrisdillon512 bleeding was easy, just the same as if the handbrake wasn’t there , it felt good but definitely get hawk go plus pads from the get go , handbrake didn’t work to well until I got those
Do you recommend a certain type of brake pad to work with the hydro I just have cheap no-name pads I think maybe from 1aauto And they take forever to heat up and start working
I just installed the gktech budget inline hydro in my g35 and it's super stiff and i basically need to pull on it with both hands super hard to get it to lock (obviously not ideal for drifting lol), I'm pretty sure it comes with one of those universal 0.7 masters, anyone know if this would be a bleeding issue or if the master is just junk?
@@byLpz leverage was my problem, I had it mounted pull up style in factory location and my bucket seat was blocking my arm from pulling it up all the way. I attached a pipe to it to lengthen it and it worked perfectly. Also replaced the master with a wilwood 0.625 so that might’ve helped too.

I’ve been trying to reach out to them to see if they could make rubber inserts for the holes on the ebrake handle

Great video maan! All the info I could’ve used before buying mine... and then having to custom make my own haha
Quarantine content is tough to make and great job dude keep doing what you like 👍🏻👍🏻
i go wow everytime you launch off the starting line in Hyperdrive. what an amazing display of driving.
I thought I recognized the name. You are by far the most impressive drifter I’ve ever seen
Liked, subscribed, commented, and watching your video lol. I can't believe you bought all these things, I kinda don't believe it lol.
I cant believe I watched this while thing, i dont even drift!
Same here lol
@Sari3n he meant to say whole vid not while
I have a very nice handbrake and it lays the master on its side as well. Bleeding it was honestly easier than a upright master.
Much needed info! Great breakdown
This is so helpful! Thanks
😍😍😍 she drifts
Luv ur channel

How can I find it he knock off asd $90-100 one?
No problems with the orientation here, bleeds fine. My ASD pass through is completely upside down in my Z to hide and not hit the brake lines.
No Parts Shop Max? They're like the OG decent cheap setup.

Thanx Fielding!!
Is there a 2 way hydro e brake? Like pull it to lock the rear and push it to lock the front (like line lock)?
Def checking out that chase bay one. The z is super tight and that looks like a forever handbrake.

i like the last one ebrake pull back stile thanks for the info i am building drift car rx7 fc reakky good info thanks
Planing on building my own as I'm cheap and is something to do. Going to combine some cheap ones as none of them fit for what I'm going for.

My older chase bays had some slip in the same area. Maybe not as much. It doesn’t really bother me

Is there any lightweight handbrakes that use the OEM brake cable

I prefer stand-alone or dual caliper setup personally. I like independent control of foot brake and hand brake :)
