Hello. We have lemon thyme in our yard. Some are already flowering in June. I have not pruned yet. My neighbor daid not to prune once its flowered because the seeds will be destroyed and they will not grow back next year? I thought it is perennial and will grow back regardless of seeds?

We have been having a really hot spell here in Sofia (Bulgaria) 30 + and it seems to be killing off the Thyme I planted a month ago. The centre of the plant is completely woody, the only parts surviving are where I layered some shoots that were close to the ground. The medium the plant is in is free draining and quite deep.. I water the plant twice a day. what am I doing wrong.
