I kind of enjoyed the slower paced combat but my impressions were “This needs a lot more development time”
The combat gives me steel rising vibes.
I got asked to play this on Lurkit and I thought the concept sounded cool, so I gave it a shot. I didn't have any of the frame issues you were having but my god, the speed of combat, the stiffness, and overall uninteresting enemies lulled me to immediate death. The area past where you stopped the video has some of the dumbest enemies and fights I've played in a souls-like and it caused me to stop without finishing the demo. To the games credit, it's got some really pretty scenery and I do think that the Italian theme is unique and could add something, if it was a better playing game to build off of.

I cannot believe Vaati is pushing this game. Honestly, and I’m not one to always assume the worst, but it seems like everyone praising this game in anyway had sponsored videos. It’s so amateurish and feels really bad to play. My one hope is that Iron Pineapple calls it right because yikes. Then you’ll have all the souls junkies pretending it’s great and screaming git gud. I’ve played every souls like I can get my hands on and this feels like the cheap steam deep dive shit with a prettier coat of paint. I’m really disappointed.
@@ikedogman1I really disliked how much the new lords of the fallen was pushed by souls UA-camrs. Incredible overhyped game with tons of mid bosses. The only game they have really been right on was Lies of P imo

Maybe the industry should take a break from making souls likes all together.
I'm always on the look out for new heavy souls related games as it became my new favourite gaming experience in 2022 when I got stuck into elden ring from sunrise to sunset, then realised what I had been missing out on from passing up bloodborne, demon souls and the dark souls series back in the day, now that I've heard Mr Miyazaki won't be in the scene for much longer I do hope other studios keep the legacy going, lies of p was great and I enjoyed lords of the fallen even with the annoying and frequent frame drops 😅

Thank you for taking an honest look at this game because it feels like nobody is. It’s frustrating and feels like something weird is going on.
The game feels like it should be coming out in over a year with new animations and balancing and everything else. It was supposed to be releasing this month. Yikes. I think people are just licking its balls because it gives them more “souls” content but I think it’s bad. Looks good but plays horribly. And I was really really excited for it. Lots of positive vibes in those sponsored vids.
If people play this two months after Shadow of the Erdtree and still pretend it’s passable, I’m declaring shenanigans.
Something about the combat reminds me of Hellpoint. Though to be fair, I did thoroughly enjoy Hellpoint..even if I did play the buggy frustration that is the Nintendo Switch port.
I think Hellpoint and Steelrising are both better feeling to play than this. This just looks prettier so it’s getting away with more. I honestly can’t believe that people are even pretending this is passable in this state. I can’t get past the first boss because I get pushed backward into a wall when I parry and then I can’t see anything but the inside of a wall. Over and over again it keeps happening. This game was supposed to come out this month. I cannot believe that people are licking this games balls. I wanted it to be good really badly, but it’s not.

@@ikedogman1I mean idk why that’s happening to you but I’ve beaten that boss a few times and it’s played fine. No streamers I’ve seen have had that issue. Maybe move away from the wall
Just played it today and ngl I forgot there was a parry lol. Probably made the final boss a lot more painful than it was 'supposed' to be. The game looks pretty, enviroments and whatnot. But as a soulslike the combat is rough. It reminds me of what people told me mortal shell was like. Now I personally thought Mortal Shell was pretty good in its own slower style. But this one just doesn't feel good to play. It's a shame because the Italian theme is cool.
It's too bad, because I was pretty intrigued by the more brightly-colored setting and the energetic vibe of the trailers. Seems like this game might have a tough time catching on, but we'll see.
The colossal great swords absolutely suck ass. I hope they speed up the animation
