Any game that releases a demo is a huge win! definitely will be checking it out.
I am Italian, and i ll gladly give a shot to this game, want to support the community. Won't be judging by comparing to colossi like ER/BB/DS cause the budget is different
My god it even has the soldier of godrick as your tutorial boss. Sign me the fuck up.
You literally take his Him pronoun away and become Him!! I love the Many Masks persona this game gives you. It's very unique. The story is also very compelling so far.
People need to understand that this game is not AAA... It's the first game of a newborn INDIE studio.
Depends on the price. If it's the same price as a AAA game it should be judged as such. We'll just have to wait and see where it lands.
@@GoatSays the price at launch is 49,99 euros/dollars.
Stop making excuses
@@mrwhocares3931 yesterday i saw a live about the demo of this game and it was awesome, it has its flaws of course but as i said, it's still a demo.
They will release this on september 19th, they have all the time of this world to perfectionate it
@@mrwhocares3931 excuses for what?
I always give these games developed by smaller studios a fair shot. And I also cut them some slack when it comes to things like animations and not judge it exactly the same as big budget games.
Yes souls-likes are becoming more popular these days, I for one am not getting burnt out on them. I strive to find games that follow from soft in the 'games that are easy aren't fun' direction. I've really been enjoying developers taking note from this and adding in their own takes on it, lies of p was absolutely amazing for a new ip and gives me faith in other studios following suit. The rewarding feeling in these types of games is just unparalleled and has me 'chasing the dragon' for more
Lies of P released on September 19, 2023. How much of a kick in the teeth would it be if the Lies of P DLC was released on 9/19 to celebrate the one-year anniversary?
Upon release & even in retrospect, LoP is/was a very nice, polished well optimized… esp from a smaller, less known studio.
LoP is my second fav game ever, prolly the best non-from souls like out there, the story telling, weapon-changing system, bosses, VA, everything is just right.
It's funny you said that I just read an article yesterday about the releasing a DLC this year LOL
@@drexalte69 what is your #1 fav tho :D
@@dory3096
Elden ring, also I am bit biased towards it as its my first ever souls game. It took me 105 hours to complete the whole game. It really reminded me of one of my fav childhood game (warrior within) and the whole play through was some of the most fun I ever had gaming honestly, I don’t recall having that much fun in so long. It also absolutely ruined every other open world games for me, I tried witcher 3 and just couldn’t even complete half way through, currently on my 2nd play through of ER XD
The Stutter when exploring an area for the first time sounds like classic UE5 shader compilation issue. The good thing is, this can be fixed, by pre-compiling the shaders on startup. This is a fairly extensive manual process tough, but what better use of their time they gained by delays than this?
8 hour long demo? 😮
Yeah May 22
Lies of p was about that long, so that's great news for sure.
Looks great. Excited to play lies of the erdtree: shadows of the fallen
Im playing
Shadow of P: Lords of the last Ronin song
I'm currently playing Lies Rising: Lords of the Erdtree.
Dude, that's crazy. I'm also playing Lies of the Shadows: Rings of the Fallen
They should make it 100% co-op playable. That'd be sick as well as give it more attention.
Phantom Blade 0 is one I’m looking forward too later this year
Same...has it been officially confirmed to release in 2024?
@@mattm7798 a demo is confirmed for 2024, so we will probably get the game early 2025 if nothing goes wrong.
@@clawez1420 That would be awesome.
Yesss yesss and yesss!
I kinda dig these 'under the radar' spin off games. It looks promising.
On PS the standard version is at 50$. At 40 it would be a Day 1 buy from me. Now I'll check out the demo and if I'm satisfied I'll propably get it (after I see performance reviews). I just want it to be better than Thymesia or Steel Rising. Putting out a demo is a great move. It's what created all the hype for Lies Of P this time last year.
First souls-like that I really want to play, mainly because of the art. I think it will have a hard time when compared directly with Elden Ring, but it looks fun.
I mean Elden Ring is the ultimate conclusion of a long path of success, this one is the first real game of an indie company, any comparison would be unfair.
@@valenesco45 True, but everyone will still compare them, fair or not.
@@danbuterfeels more fair to compare Enotria to Lies of P and Stellar Blade. I agree the art and setting of Enotria is selling the game for me
Thanks for your coverage. I had seen some uncommented gameplay from the demo and I was VERY concerned about the performance issues. While your explanation of what was really happening does not fill me with relief, it is good to know that this is an asset loading issue not a overall performance issue. I did have my eye on this game and I will try it now that I know it is worth giving it a shot. I don't expect perfection from AA studios, so this may land well for me.
I'll def be checking out the Demo and play on getting it if I like it. I won't be rushing to it due to reason you said like other titles coming out. However I do think it looks promising.
I’m definitely going to try out the demo and see how I like it.
I'm so glad they moved it again.
Originally being in the same window as Shadow of The Erdtree spelled bad reception in-terms of quantity, moving it to August which is the window for Black Myth: Wukong (another highly anticipated soulslike) also spelled some bad reception. Now it seems the game is in the right window.
Wow they did something right that the last 2 big souls game didn't do despite it being in Sekiro
Showing the posture meter which would've been really really helpful in Elden Ring and Lies of P
Something that Lords of The Fallen somehow actually did right as well
Performance for me was terrible. Had my cpu running at 100% and 30fps on lowest settings. Not sure what the problem is. I feel I should be able to get a smooth 60fps on my 2080 super with an i7? Anyone know what could be causing this?
This game is fucking heavy or it has a very bad optimization.
I played it on my 4080 and the vga has had a really hard time playing smoothly at epic setting in 4k
@Viktorprj19 I just logged onto steam and there was a patch so I'll test it later. Hoping its fixed
@Viktorprj19 I have tested the new patch and it is no better. I decided to play on playstation instead which is much better.
Excited to try the 8 hour demo on the 22
Yes! I will try and decent souls like and this looks promising! I hope the demo carries over into the full game if I’m putting 8 hrs into this…
I just played the demo. Its pretty rough, imo. I feel like in a parry-centric combat system, enemy animations and design are REALLY important. They're not good here, and it generally feels pretty jank to me. The level design is nice, though.
For those wondering, the price for this is $49.99 US. So it’s a proper AA price.
My most anticipated game for the latter half of 2024! Already pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition for my PS5. 🎭
Why?
@@bmsuperstar1 what do you mean why lol? It’s a Soulslike. The Devs are releasing an 8hr Demo, so they’re confident in their product. I can easily list off way more!
@@gri22lybear Why did you pre-order? Did you get it dirt cheap that way? Will that edition not be available later?
I fail to see the logic behind that decision.
@@bmsuperstar1 bc it’s my money. Very simple. And I choose to support these Devs.
@@gri22lybear It's your money? That's not the reason. You sound like a fever year old, if a five year old could have "his own money".
How are you supporting the devs with a pre-order? They already have a budget for their game.
You don't really know what you are talking about. You seem to be kind of lost.
Souls fans have been eating GOOD the last couple years man
We block and parry with our left arm?
Italian indie game studio, that's impressive. The game still needs lots of polishing but as far as visuals and style go they nailed it.
any news of Black Myth Wukong?
got delayed again?
It’s coming out late August and I think there will be big news for it coming up I heard
1:24 that first time Ds2 Majula experience ?
Seems a bit stiff on the animation parts whenever anything is attacking
Definitely gonna try the demo but I'm just not sold on this one yet. Something seems off
The price sets the right expectations, I think, so I'll get this day one for love of the genre and in support of the effort.
as someone who loves the souls genre and makes a point of trying any and all soulslike that come out i felt as though enotria was solidly okay. The mask loadout thing is a cool idea but if you cant change your loadout mid journey then it kind of defeats the purpose as you have to go back and rest to change anything anyway.
Basically you have 3 you can set up and swap between however your stats stay the same so if your specing into strength then swap to a magic loadout sure you can equipt some magic buffing stuff but for the most part its still not going to be as strong as if you had just speced all into magic.
The magic itself takes WAYYYY too long to charge up theres two paths you can take in the skill tree one that charges then slower but they deal more damage and one that charges faster and they deal less. i picked the charge faster one in the last boss of the demo and in a 10 minute fight of constantly hitting the boss i managed to use a total of 2 spells out of my 4 IN TEN MINUITES! and furthermore then deal way to little damage for then to be worth waiting over 10 mins to use.
The animations just arnt there the visually or technically the closest souls like to match from soft is lies of p and enotria feels like its half of the way to lies of p.
Combat is slow i mean REALLY slow i tried to use the greatsword and it was basically unusable as it takes 15 seconds for a single swing.
Level design is really good thats the main positive from this demo.
Bosses were pretty cool but again without the proper animations even the coolest boss can feel average.
One thing this game does better than any other non-From Souls-like I've seen, is the sound and impact of the action. It looks and feels really, really good. Also, the amount of loot is crazy good! High hopes for this one.
Not Italian but I’m excited to interact with Italian mythology
You said you were getting 80-90fps on average.
There's an fps counter in the top right that shows the fps, and it looks as though it's locked to a 60hz refresh rate.
I did lots of testing and locked and unlocked it so a lot of footage has different settings depending on what ended up making the edit
I'll give it a fair shake.
Italians have a unique artistic vision. I appreciate it, so I will be waiting for the release with interest.
Though too much reliance on parries is a big minus for me. Sekiro was great, and it popularized parries. But all games trying to repeat it, get it wrong, in my opinion. So I'm now annoyed by this after effect of Sekiro success.
How can you compare this to lies of p
i'm italian so i'm very curious about this game
No multiplayer?
How does it compare to Lords of the Fallen given it’s also on the same engine
Is this the new lords of the fallen? Looks like it
looks good
Seems good! It's good they moved the release date twice.. would be sucked going against ER DLC and Black Myth on Aug 20th
I don't know I expect something like steel rising - if world building is very good - or - if combat is very good - lies of p... inaturally this one is Italian so world building will be better than in lies of p u can already tell it has a certain consistency and stylistic coherency in how architectural styles are packed together... even tho I am not sure characters from commedia dell'arte should be hanging out in a medieval village but hey... Plus at 8:03 that's clearly mount Cervino, I went there skying in the summertime as a kid of course I am already sold on Enotria...
This game should be priced $39.99 USD tops. It’s doesn’t appear to be as good as Another Crabs Treasure, and that was $29.99
very smart move, moving the release date from June 21st
I already hate the blur after the parries just by watching this. And I think the stutter is a problem with Unreal 5 compiling shaders. Probably the full game will have some kind of pre-compile to fix this (we hope)
Shader stutter is the bug bear of modern gaming on PC. Consoles don't get that problem.
@@GameOverMan76
They do. Lords of the fallen is a mess on console.
@@originalityisdead.9513 no it’s actually not
@@ProblematicSloth666
Yet it is. I've got the game on PC and PS5. The framerate is a mess.
@@originalityisdead.9513 I got it on PS5 and haven’t encountered any issues on three playthroughs
I played it for almost 15 hours and while it is fairly enjoyable, I'm stunned that they though it was ready to ship by August. There is a rather large list of issues with the game that I think they will be hard pressed to address by their new deadline.
Quite a lot of souls likes just faceplant right out of the gate because they just rush to launching and I don't want that to happen to this game.
Feels like a slightly less clunky steel rising
im on Xbox S|X and just recently lost my job from my type 1 diabetes so not only can i not afford this game or any other souls game that i would like i also cant even try the demo. Why no xbox demo? I love we are getting more souls like games. This is my fav. genre in gaming.
Will this be another Lies of P or another fail? Combat seems slightly janky...
So far my only complaint is that the animations are honestly pretty bad, though i think its going to be better in the released product. Other than that its only minor things, this games gonna be cool
my only concern and I hope they fix the time to consume healing to much faster, most of the time the enemy is fast as hell and no time space to heal at all
The stuttering is the same we had with Jedi Survivor
No significant stutter on my rig: 13900ks + 4090.
Looks a lot like Steelrising. Will likely play, just probably not day one.
5:55 that's a common problem with ue games... epic still hasn't fixed their shader compilation stutters
Didn't find a demo on PS5 today... sooo?
free demo or a preorder bonus?
Free demo.

As a dev myself the comments truly make me despair, people are so negative towards others time effort and hard work.
YOU, "As a dev myself" need to man tf up. Because if seeing negative comments for something that's not even made by your team, gets you so pressed like that? Well, goodluck to you man lol
@Kyle-Marxluxia thanks for your contribution to the world...a near perfect example 👌 just what the world needs another sh1t lord.🤣
UA-cam and the internet are generally negative and often mob conditioned. But it’s not representative of reality, people claim to hate Diablo and starfield, yet both have have millions and millions of players. Don’t take it to heart.
@Fextralife the reality is the vast vast majority of people either on the Internet or IRL have very little to no understanding of what it takes to design, dev and test even the most moddest of games. Anyways thanks for the comment and the vid on this game, looks cool and interesting IMO.
@@secularspectator Cry about it lol
Ouf. This looks much rougher than I hoped it to be.
Gives me heavy Thymesia Vibes.
To be honest I’m definitely playing this even though I always say I’m done with souls like lol
I know this is going to sound weird but it looks very unreal engine like lol. I cant explain it but it looks like a tech demo.
Luv your new video im not having a good day today my uncle is in the hospital 😢
I hope he gets better soon
I played 20 minutes last night. Doubt this beats Lies of P but not horrible. Combat feels somewhat disconnected. On the fence, need to resume tonight.
Complaining about a souls not explaining enough of crazy
it's shader caching issue.
This usnt coming to xbox if im not remembering wrong
It will come to Xbox as well
No such thing as too many GREAT soulslikes.
“Hit detection feels almost nonexistent…” 😞
Wait for sale demo was extremely disappointed
It looks great. Plus it's Italian so fucking sign me in (I'm Italian)
I will play the demo I like souls likes 39.99 pound is the price
Italian Lies of P? I’m here for it. I hope it has good performance on launch. UE5 makes me a little nervous on that front
Another Dark Souls at home.
Really depends on the difficulty/gameplay. I was looking forward to Lords of the Fallen and then found out you didn't have a dedicated jump button for the rubbish platform parts of the game. However it looks good, so no reason not to play the demo.
Tried the demo and I can't just see the point of the game existing. It's like someone tries to copy Dark Souls or Lies of Pi, but is subpar on all aspects. I have been playing Nioh currently and the quality and feel of combat is not even comparable. Too bad.
Yeah, for me this game just proves the quality of Lies of P is as good as From's.
Kinda reminds me of steel rising
The animations look pretty rough tbh, attacking and interacting with objects looks very weird.
I have a feeling its going to do much better than ppl think i just heard about it a few months back and been watching for uodates i agree on enemy attacks however I seen footage a few months back in the animations were way worse so I can tell they went back and put some time into making improvements and that could also be the reason why it has been pushed back I don't know but these games tend to do better than people think even though it isn't from one of the regular Developers I have a pretty good feeling about it not going to be game of the year or anything but I think it will do pretty well
Most of the animations just look like they need a bit more polish. The movement just looks strange, kind of "glidey"
4 hours and Demo done with. Good visuals, good mechanics and ideas. This type of game needs flow and responsiveness, and it's not delivering so far, slow animations, clunky movement and attacks, very tech demo-y, like an unreal 4 showcase, and the motion blur, the fucking motion blur dogwater made me wanna quit at times. It has potential but at the price they're selling it? Not gonna turn a profit guys sorry to break it to ya
Man, I somehow really dislike that 1handed basic animation, it feels sooooo overextended... :D Otherwise pretty good
an 8 hour demo?? wtf lol
the enemy and player weapons animations sure are lack luster , everything depends on the core gameplay now
why does every soulslike nowadays have to do parries?
It gives me lies of p vibes
Will still be playing Black Myth if that isn't delayed tho, shame
Played the demo and it all felt like it was all on a delay. Just not for me.
You know how there are developers that pioneer a type of game and then over many years others come along and refine the genre? I feel like no one to this point has been able to capture the "souls-like" magic as a whole quite like from software's games. Lies of P was the best attempt and yet there is still something about it that feels like a tier down.
Enotria looks like its just another imitator in this state. Its like Thymesia without the combat innovations
Like X-Com. There is always just something off with the clones.
The foundation of this game is cool but the jank animations throws it off so much.
Not great, not terrible.
Will definitely support this , we need more souls likes .
Another souls game Jesus Christ
I played the demo for a couple hours the other night and it doesn't seem too bad.. the parry surprisingly tight and responsive. The movement seems a little janky but for this developers first game, it's pretty impressive. Especially since it's a soulslike. I'll definitely check it out when it releases
How dare you compare this crap to Lies Of P?
