    Carrying a couple of Liposafe bags would be a great idea. Inexpensive peace of mind and pretty much a must these days.) Thanks for the video

      Yeah agree. Lots of bags available on the market for batteries/devices in thermal runaway. And not too expensive. I would definitely have one in these type of aircraft. You never can tell the quality/health of batteries carried and used onboard.

    I really enjoyed your take on the various models. Yes, real world experience tops the brochure statements for sure.
    Out of curiosity, why do you use a ForeFlight number with ATC?

    as Epic owner, flew Meridian, TBM prior to buying, I say Epic wins. Full fuel payload of 1100lb where Meridian and TBM are half ore less. speed is always 308KTAS+

    I think all the mentioned different aircrafts are each in its own category. And that is due to either differences like power, size, etc. For instance TBM latest series with 850shp vs Epic e1000 with 1200shp, that is a huge 350shp difference! (...).

    The Carbon or any composite for that matter just needs excellent element protection. With technology, paints can be designed to compliment the composites and give them a much longer life. As far as micro cracking. Any fastened/connecting point should always be over engineered. Made far more robust than what the original formula states. Then work out the rigidity of the remainder of the plane. There can never be to much stress testing. Mike Patey has an excellent video on the topic of Carbon air frames and how he designed his personal plane ( Scrappy ). The structural carbon on his never sees the sun. He has a secondary sacrificial layer that is not structural to take the elements. He also goes into the proper protection and paint.

    When the Epic offers FADEC and auto land, Daher and Piper might have a tougher time selling planes. Then again I wonder if those comapnies’ service networks are advantages.

    What I like about the Epic is the airframe should age better for the continuous pressurisation/depressurisation cycles because it it won’t expand and contract like the metal frames/skins do, which ages them and causes the life cycle limit. Should be a longer or no limit on the Epic fuselage.

    A single-engine turbo prop that will give you 370 KTAS is Pilatus PC-21. Unfortunately, it is not available for civilian use.

    You need to dump those GoPro and upgrade to DJI, that’s what we did had WAY too many issues with GoPros!
    Love the pilot perspective on the different models, how are you enjoying the Phenom??

    • @MrLincMer
      @MrLincMer  Рік тому

      It seems to be a different issue every flight haha. But this one could have been serious. How did you find the video quality of the DJI’s compared to GoPro’s? Also, does your audio set up work using DJI cams?
      Thank you! I have more videos planned that go into more depth between the models.
      From the rare couple of flights I’ve had in the Phenom, I’ve enjoyed them! I appreciate that it has a somewhat roomy flight deck, that the engines are in the back which makes for a quiet flight deck in flight and the feel of its sturdy airframe. The ergonomics of the instrument panel and the flight control yoke make you feel like you’re in a spacecraft of sorts.

    Why is the reason you are flying solo -no passengers? Just curious

      Many of my flights are with passengers, but I usually only record my solo flights.

    Would you say that a DA-50 is comparable from a pilots perspective? Other than speed…

    • @MrLincMer
      @MrLincMer  Рік тому +1

      The DA-50 is more comparable to the SR22. It would be fun to compare a DA-50 with the TBM, but it wouldn't be a fair comparison.
