  • Inside The $6 Million Epic E1000 GX Plane
    0:00 - Intro
The Epic E1000 GX is a six-seat single-engine turboprop aircraft capable of reaching speeds of over 333 knots and a rate of climb of 4000 feet per minute on less than 50 gallons per hour. Here is everything you need to know about the Epic E1000 GX.
    0:40 - Cabin
The stairs of the Epic E1000 GX themselves have been aesthetically and functionally improved, and a small button near the hinge point of the door provides power to the interior lights for 10 minutes, lighting up the path to the cockpit. Entry is via a rear airstair door, up a center aisle through the facing club-four passenger seat array. The spacious cabin of the E1000 can accommodate six passengers. The cabin dimensions include a length of 15 feet or 4.6 meters, a width of 4.6 feet or 1.4 meters, and a height of 4.9 feet or 1.5 meters.
The spacious cockpit and cabin offer generous head and best-in-aircraft-class legroom that can comfortably accommodate pilots and passengers as tall as 6'8" or 2 meters. An optimal combination of padding, pitch, and roominess, reclining leather seats each equipped with side pockets, small-item storage, headset jacks, power ports, air vents, and fingertip-adjustable LED reading lights.
There is no separate luggage compartment cutting into the fuselage area. There is, however, a space behind the aft-most seats where luggage can be placed, and flexible rear-seating configurations allow for easy inflight access to luggage.
Once airborne, the pressurized cabin's sophisticated sound ,and climate-control technologies deliver next-level comfort to both crew and passengers. The large windows are electronically dimmable, offering precision control over light, glare, heat ,and UV rays. When parked, the windows automatically dim to the darkest setting, keeping the cabin cool on hot days.
    2:58 - Cockpit
Once you’re seated, the Epic E1000 GX provides incredible comfort, and the first thing you’ll notice is the generous headroom. The aircraft includes an all-glass flight deck dominated by a three-screen Garmin G1000 Nxi avionics suite. With crisper, swifter componentry in the displays, Garmin also added new features, such as SurfaceWatch to prevent runway incursions, visual-approach capabilities with a three-degree glideslope, and a selectable map overlay for the HSI, which can also display weather and traffic in the pilot’s field of vision.
The new E1000 GX features the updated Garmin GFC 700 Automated Flight Control System. It also includes synthetic vision displays, engine and airframe interface, automatic dependent surveillance broadcast systems, one-handed flight operations and integration with e-tablets and EFB devices, and GPS. The aircraft comes with Garmin GTS 825 traffic avoidance system, digital backup instruments, XM weather, Jeppesen unlock card, and radar altimeter.
The G1000 features two 10-inch PFDs, mounted on the pilot’s and copilot’s sides of the panel, and a 12-inch MFD in the center with a keypad mounted below for quicker data entry.
One of the most unique things on the panel is a small screen below the windshield called the Wedge Annunciation Panel, or Wedge for short. The Wedge serves as a status panel to use before takeoff and landing. This miniature checklist activates when the takeoff/go-around button on the power lever is pushed and held. Anything not configured properly is shown in red on the status panel. Once the airplane is set up correctly, all of the items on the Wedge are displayed in green.
    6:46 - Engine and Performance
The Epic E1000 GX is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67A turbine engine with a TBO of 3,500 hours and a flat-rated mechanical power of 1,200 shaft horsepower, and a Hartzell 5-blade composite propeller. This combination is able to push the E1000 to a maximum cruise speed of 333 knots and up to a maximum cruising altitude of 34,000 feet or 10.4 kilometers, with an average hourly fuel burn of 50 gallons or 190 liters per hour.
The Epic E1000 GX has a maximum range of 1,560 nautical miles, which is 1,800 miles or 2,890 kilometers. The E1000 can take off in 2,254 feet or 687 meters, has a maximum rate of climb of 4,000 feet per minute, and a landing distance of 2,400 feet or 731 meters, all while maintaining a maximum take-off weight of 8,000 lbs or 3,630 kilograms.
    8:06 - Purchase Cost
The base price for an Epic E1000 GX is $3.85 million. Due to the newness of the aircraft, preowned models are currently very hard to find.
    8:16 - Operating Cost
While the total fixed cost is roughly $160,000 per year, the average hourly operating cost is estimated at $700.

It’s not $6m, closer to 4.25 and a lot of this video is of the LT, which is experimental.

No weather radar? It will make it difficult to fly through or avoid weather.
Furthermore, competitors offer a single lever FADEC. This makes a huge difference.

For that kind of money I want FADEC and autothrust.

As I said above BEFORE upgrades such as deicing system, interiors etc.
A small number of buyers take delivery of a basic E1000GX.

    It' doesn't reach speeds OVER 333kts .
333kts is it's listed max speed ...making it 3kts faster than the TBM , thus claiming the title of the Fastest single engine Turboprop .

There was simply no valid reason for the Epic E1000GX at $6M to install Dodge car seats - talk about awkward.
