More people would sub if we didn't wait 3 weeks for a 30 min video of 1 unfinished door handle and a bit of floor cutting 😂😅😅. Cmon man you gotta do better than that to get the subs.
Car vertical fails to give you information about the actual car as in engine, colour, HP etc. was quite disappointed since that information is easily available
put a nice rubber seal around the handle to stabilize and seal it, no cracking.
@@scottvacher73most people have a job that they have to spend time at. That and the fact that he is working on his project mostly by himself. He did have a video where they spent hours perhaps days doing the wiring harness. Would you sit through that just so you could watch his content? Nowadays parts for vehicles are impossible to get for a video timeline.
@@trealin4730if you can get it easy, then why are you complaining? Come on kids lighten up, not everybody is an expert at video production.
Every part of this restoration demonstrates your profound understanding and respect for classic cars. The way you brought this beauty back to life with such care and precision is nothing short of magical. Your passion shines through in every frame
That's proper custom work. People don't realise how long things like this take but when the car is finished these touches will make it look so good and most people won't quite realise why.
Exactly! I've spent months doing custom work on my chevelle that most people would never notice.
He literally said it only took a couple days
Wouldn't it have made more sense to weld a threaded bar to a plate, then use the 2 part 3M structural bond, to apply the mount to the backside of the door? You could even lay some carbon over the top to take some yield off the handle operation. That way you can still shim the handle height etc? Have a feeling you may encounter issues with the bolt breaking through the fiberglass over time.
Side note, as much as I love the GTR handles. Should have looked at the Fiat Barchetta ones as well, very similar but have a retro supercar flare 😊.
Personally, I would have "glassed in" an oversized piece of aluminum mesh to the inside of the door skin for structure and rigidity...
And, I would suggest that you add a thin rubber strip between the frame and the carbon fiber panels to minimize rattles!
The attention to detail is spot on.
The door handles are very sharp.
Can’t wait to see the next episode
Thank you Jack.
😎😎😎👍👍👍
Now this is a video of where the 90’s hot boy/mini-trucker comes out. Reminded me of the era of shaved door handles, tailgates, frenched in license plates, taillights etc. Or did you watch an episode of Bitchin Rides where Kindigs crew puts in his patterned door handles? love this type of custom work.
20:30 best moment of the video. That reaction was fantastic.
There is a british racing green M12 GTO-3R thats lived near me for about 20 years now, always catches my eye everytime I see it.
Best car colour ever.
Ignore the haters, I’m here to learn about the small details.
I’ve seen enough people complete a car in 20 minutes…I wind up learning nothing.
From this episode, I’ve learned a lot.
That cheer when you realised the door handle worked that was worth watching the video alone great video again.
Love it when the jack builds it notification comes up. ❤
I would form a sheet of like, 16 gauge aluminum, to fit behind the door around the handle and glass that into place, otherwise you can get stress cracks from the fiberglass flexing around the two studs you already installed. Just a thought from an old boat mechanic.
If you need another flush handle, that will not need to be cut out like the GTR ones. Go to kindig customs, he has created the flush handle before the GTR R35 came out. Those had been used in custom builds and always fit small areas
Yer they look amazing but I think they are very expensive. I can imagine jack has seen them before and didn't use them for a reason
Plus the fact that he has real GTR handles in them. Little bit of frosting on the cake.
Fake kindig handles are $600...
@WarrenCorlette, how are they "fake"?
@@WarrenCorlette I wouldn't talk trash about anything Kindig.
Jack! You better not leave us like this again! I’ve been in limbo for a month!
Yea what this person is saying!
they were in the UK
That was a reel or short content in that video
Happy see this long awaited video, Jack! I think you needed some time to get things right. I know you put in a lot of work and time. You're great at what you do and I believe we'll have a happy ending in this build
Can’t wait for part 137 when it’s done
That’s optimistic when you have one episode about a door handle and the other one about a windscreen wiper, it's going to be a while 😂
@@kamiltwardowski3495 for real my goodness
@kamiltwardowski3495 and yet be done for SEMA... I believe it as fab work gobbles up the most time. After that it's a Lego set to piece back together... a very big Lego set 😆
Yer cause real cars take that long to build especially when you are a perfectionist like jack
1 year content then he will rush before sema and still not 100%
You’re making something amazing out of this project car, the only thing I would reconsider is getting a heater core back, there’s so many non-functional UA-cam cars without wipers, lacking waterproofing etc. It would’ve been nice to see this car being way better than factory without a single function/option removed.
When doing a proper restoration with custom work, the smallest component can take a lot of time to get it perfect. I'm 53 with progressive MS that is causing muscle wasting on my entire left side, so I got a 1954 m38a1 24 volt jeep willys to restore. I was told that i needed to try and stay as active as i can to stay out of a wheelchair. I try to do most of the wrenching with hand tool's to work my muscles, and it gets rough at time's, because i have lost most of the feeling in my hand, and my dexterity is not so good. I have a tendency to try and get thing's perfect to, but thankfully i do love working on car's, which is okay if it takes me longer to get thing's done.
You are very good at doing all this detail work, and it helps keep me going watching someone else who is detail oriented, and putting in a lot of hour's to get thing's done right. I've been waiting awhile to see how this build is progressing, so thanks for getting this out. G-d bless.
I love this build, the channel is coming along really well too. But honestly, drop the click bait titles. They aren't necessary. It cheapest your channel and brand. Your appeal is the detail and care you put in to the work... None of us believe you ruined anything.
I agree, I cringed when I saw the thumbnail. I like these videos but the click bait isn’t necessary
Imagine thinking you can tell him what to do
Enjoying this build, so different from the common high end builds all over UA-cam
Such sophisticated work! You’re the true tinkerer, Jack!
Love the carbon fibre in the front section. Even though you're planning to clear coat and protect, will you do a rubber or silicone isolator layer between the frame and the carbon? It might be an idea to help restrict noise from/and vibration and also help prevent the frame rubbing through and damaging the carbon, especially if something like dirt from track days gets between the two surfaces.
Those door handles are very hot rod/ mini truck built and I love it. Cool to see the process.
The Noble is looking good, Jack.
I think that colour red on the car looks fantastic. I appreciate its not the final colour, but it does look well. 😁
Awesome design agreed, I'd like to see it in green or orange personally.
Nice touch, i like the gtr handles. My only concern is that the glass fibre has been bonded to paint, and i wouldve used a woven sheet, maybe 90gsm as a finish ply.
Also, love that hex weave carbon, makes a change from seeing 2x2 or 3x1 twill all over the place.
What a beautiful touch to the car
Nice work, Jack! This will easily be one of the nicest painted TVRs out there.
Jack your attention to detail is astonishing! Love the progress and the unique touches too!
Hi Jack, great job on the custom GTR door handle fit up! regarding the carbon fiber floor panels, way back in the '80s Ditzler (now PPG owned) offered a cermic 2k clear that was super hard and VERY scratch resistant. They actually put out sample panels to paint and body shops with 80 grit sanding pads for people to test scratch. This stuff was amazing! PPG now offers their "CERAMICLEAR" 2K scratch resistant clearcooats. May be worth looking into...might eliminate the need for PPF. Hey man, keep up the great work and super interesting videos!
17:50 really nice idea. Personally I would’ve used “big-head studs” good work and enjoying watching the progress of the car, the channel and yourself as a UA-camr
This channel deserve to get 1 million subs, amazing work and attention to details!
Great build jack, instead of using blue loctite to hold the nut in place why not use a nylock nut?
Loving the content and detail. This is the reality of rebuilding and customising a car it take TIME
A thought, make sure you have an external battery jumper connection so that you can unlock the doors if the battery is flat.
Jack - love this project and your work.
Keep going we ARE watching.😁
tell you jack, the way you incrusted the sponser is soooo intelligently done, we dont fast forwar cause we see you work, sponser should be more than happy and we can endure them as we do not want to miss your work, never saw that done on any channel, thum up for the most brilliant canadian, i am too lol
Another superbly ridiculous amount of effort in the door handles !! Keep it going god knows how you will ever finish it taking so much care and time in every single part !!
In the future you might want to consider taping off the important parts of things that you're grinding on. It only takes one tiny slip of the bit to ruin that door handle and a nice thick layer of tape gives you at least a moment of protection
I suspect the bolts fiberglassed on the door skin over the handles will eventually crack the fiberglass over time. Just my thought. More power on the build!
With the amount of "car guys" i watch on youtube, its nice to see someone do something they aren't sure is going to work, and be genuinely excited when it works how he hopes/plans it to. Kinda gives hope for the little guys looking to try something new.
If you can make the door rod that attaches to the handle from a stronger rod, do it. In my Noble and others that I saw, that rod would bend ever so slightly, and then the door would either not open or stay closed. It was a pain to get the rod out to modify it.
Excellent Workmanship.. Nice.
Not so spectacular progress, but this small details will rise this build above anything else! Good job Jack'!
Such a long time between videos and basically no progress.
This is where Jack differs from so many other UA-camrs, he actually shows the fine detail process it takes to get results vs blasting through episodes for content. I can't wait to see what he does with the Supra!
The "small" details always take more time to perfect, and jack is going for perfection 👌
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive nah he is always doing stuff for his daddy T and no time to do his videos.
I gotta say the organization of your videos is actually really high quality referencing old videos chronologically and all that. Truly amazing content through and through.
Man, I want those door handles for my build now!! This is such an awesome project
Congrats on the progress Jack. This car is really turning out Next Level! And you've got the best laugh in all of UA-cam. 😎
Elsea and Jack both posting videos today, let's go!
Like the work Jack and its starting to look great, would be worried the glass is too thin and will crack easily above the bolts though
I know these custom pieces are so time consuming but it’s really cool to see you get creative and make your thoughts a reality! Love those handles, those old ones look so dated now 😂
AMAZING work Jack. Easily my favourite build on UA-cam right now.
This is awesome, so are you. But I'm in team skeptical right now. The finish of this part of the build is gonna what makes it.
Nice detail, It give a lot of style at your car. This is kind of detail pepole don't give attention but those details adds-up and they make all the difference. You have a lot of talent, a real craftman!
That’s gonna be a bad ass light car.. Probably going to handle like it’s on rails!!
Hey Jack, should the handle open the other way i would think most people when opening there door do it with there right hand and not there left. You should have the push on the left with your right thumb and not the other way around.
Build is looking awesome. Perhaps you should CNC cut or 3D print a template for the door handle hole and a trim router and block sanding the hole. It is the only the way that thing will be perfectly cut. The choice of door handle is great BTW. Love the recessed look. You may want to put a seal or something to protect or keep water out from inside your door.
Smooth the area first, then mark with a fine line sharpie to make it easier to get a perfect opening. Tape a piece of plastic under a wet layup like that to keep the resin off the rest of the door.
Those door handles are 1000 times better ! Well done mate !
Awesome work, it's really starting to look good. Would it be more reliable to use metal panels around the handles, you could then weld bolt studs to the back
Looking good Jack!!!!!!!
This sort of thing is what makes a custom car custom... Not off the shelf and bolt on. Much respect,,,🤘
Great work. I hope you switched the handles to the other side, or at least flipped it upside down. you want the "thumb" press to be towards the back of the car. that way the driver opens it with their left hand. otherwise it's awkward for both sides if the press portion was to the front of the car
Jack. You could have fit the handle off the car. Make a negative of the door, use that to make a positive and that positive would be the new part of the door. Just get the handle position right and you're off. 😆
Awesome work the gtr handle is great idea. Probably make sure the bolt/studs are reinforced good. would be bad to come loose in the fiberglass. Especially since it’ll be high stress area opening and shutting door all the time. Maybe like you said some loctite or maybe like window weld? Or making some sort of pedestals for the inner structure of the handle to rest on taking stress off the studs (rubber feet bump? ) holding the handle when handle is pulled from outside. Different approach for mounting them forsure, space constraints I can understand. Just floating ideas.
I don’t know if it’s concern but can if the carbon broke on floor where feet are would that be safety concern? Looking forward to your progress excited to see what you’ll do with Supra also. Your one of the people when I see a post I always tune in. Keep up good work 👍
🤯watching the handle. 🤯stressed me out
Absolutely love this video! Stuff like this is really interesting as it makes the car a true one off with trick features that it could’ve (or should’ve) left the factory with!!
Good work Jack! We don’t know about the exterior color, but your choice of the gold for the chassis looks great against the carbon fiber. Good choice!
I ran into Jack a few days ago in Paris and he showed me a sneak peak of the color (I won't ruin it) but I will tell you it's perfect for the car. Nice meeting you Jack!
@@beg5063 Thank you! I like thrillers. I liked the orange that he saw in the UK on his body kit, so anxious to see his color choice.
Thanks for sharing all your work sir
I like the Happy Excitement that the custom door handles work.
Dude this car is looking amazing
20:33 Hell yes brother! 😂 Love these moments when working on something in life.
Attention to detail dude! Love it 😎
Love Noble and Lotus cars so much. I'm hoping to own an Elise or Exige very soon!
Really enjoying the series Jack, car is going to be sharp! I wanted to ask if you have thought about any sound deadening for it though? I think you are going to get a lot of road noise if not and may sour your driving it a little bit.
The gtr handle looks really nice, but i believe its inverted and the design behind it is to push with the thumb first and than grab the handle but for the right door im pretty sure that ive always gonna use the right hand and its going to be pain in the ass if you leave it like that 😅
Jack, this was an epic episode. I love the split screen for the car vertical ad and timelapse. I watched the whole way through. Make sure your sponsors see this comment! Also love the door handle fab. You're a body guy and it shows. Work carefully, be good to yourself and it will get done. 😎
Jack’s such a perfectionist I love it😂
some weeks ago i also had the idea to try it on my s15 silvia, and now boom jack does it thw handle swap haha
Yeah for the gold frame! I voted for it some episodes ago!
Nice your back on it. and seeing you out side the science museum in London the other week.
It was nice to meet you, thanks for saying hi!
Do you think it would have been easier using one of Dave Kindig's handles?
Love your content!!
Those handles are cool but I wanted the challenge of making the GTR handles work.
Just read this comment after I posted the same thing..lol
Lots of great UA-camrs out there but only a few can do this custom work so well❤Be good to meet you in the UK one day.
I love your attention to detail. Such nice work. I hope you are proud of your work, you should be.
love all of the details your are putting into it.... cant wait to see what else you have in store....
Next level custom work 🤙😀
I hear this Noble your working on was quite the super car of its day , very rare very good car .
Fantastic work as always Jack!
love it jack, plz keep it as original as possible, that orange one looks weird in the front nose
Glad to see you're making Headway on that but that gold tastic looks like mustard
Fantastic job on the details Jack! This will be a very real car at sema not one of those Bluetooth cars most people build 🤦🏼♂️
I can’t wait to see more of this build!
Great planning & execution!! Looking forward to the next vids!!
Good to meet you dude (at Goodwood). Cheers Mat Hammond
Hallo Jack, ich denke die Schrauben für die Türverrigelung brechen dir wieder aus, besser ist du schweißt die Schrauben auf Bleche und laminierst diese von innen ein.😊
Fantastic work as always Jack! Your attention to detail and the finesse you put in to every repair and tweak is just outstanding. I did want to ask if you specifically chose to put the handles in backwards because you preferred them that way or if was due to fitment issue? I'm planning to do a similar mod using Aston Martin handles on my own build and hope they come out as nice as yours!
That door handle mod is such a good idea 'that only a body guy would do', love it
Awesome work Jack!
Jack, there was nothing wrong with the original door handles. To get more clearance to the glass, could you swap the actuator cam from the passengers side handle?
I am a bid concerned about the gap tolerance of the handle after a paint job, we will see soon !
I love the content!
It’s going to be dark green or purple for sure
I would have used glue studs... You know for like boats, the ones with little holes in the heads. I mean they're designed for that rather than having to worry about testing yours so much. There.
Are also so many other custom after market door handles out there that would have worked for this with similar design look. I'm sure you could have found something that would have fit better and easier possibly.
