      Hi! Thanks for your comment, there are a few things that could be happening here.
      1. If your neck and shoulder muscles are very tight and tense, they will be harder to move separately. Take a few deep breaths before you start and relax the shoulders down.
      2. Focus on moving your chin/jaw rather than the neck. Even though its called a neck isolation, we're really controlling the movement from the head. You can also think about creating a pulling feeling between the left ear and right shoulder (and right ear and left shoulder) as if they're magnets being forced apart from each other.
      3. It's OK if the movement is small, some very advanced dancers don't have big neck movements, it depends on individual flexibility.
      4.The shoulders will move a little when practicing, as the body gets used to the movement, so rather than focusing on the shoulders staying still(which might cause frustration when the movement happens), focus on moving the chin and head and getting that distance between the head and shoulders.

    Great tutorial! I like the point u made about focusing on the head not the shoulders. It’s far from perfect but I literally got the basic movement in under a minute. Thanks!

      Actually that probably means you're doing it right! A lot of the time a basic move by itself will look weird, but when it's done as part of a dance or as a detail, then it looks good.

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  Рік тому

      @@yukisato5490 it's OK if the shoulders move a little bit, as long as they're not tilting or leaning too much. Another way to think about it, is to focus on moving your chin away from the opposite shoulder, like they're being pulled away from each other on invisible strings. It's also OK if the movement is very small at first! The muscles will loosen over time and make it easier 😊

    when I have to turn my head in the choreography (for example, when they switch their hair from one side to the other), I have a problem with dizziness. is there any way to get rid of it?

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  11 місяців тому +2

      Unfortunately dizziness isn't really something we can fix with our moves. I also get dizzy super easily though, so what I can recommend is drinking loads of water when dancing, and giving yourself specific points on the wall in each direction to look at as you move to make yourself feel a bit more steady. Hope that helps a bit.

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  Рік тому +2

      One side is always easier than the other 😊 Neck flexibility is a hard one too, it can take a lot of practice to build it up, but you can definitely do it!

      @PinkKPopAcademy  Рік тому +1

      Thats OK! It's not natural movement for our neck, so it takes a while to get used to! Even teeny tiny movements are a start, your body will get used to it with practice 😊

    Wait why are we calling these moves K-pop basics? When it’s hip hop in general?🤨

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  Рік тому +2

      For the purposes of UA-cam they are K-Pop basics because that's specifically the genre that people are on this channel to learn and because over time they have developed their own K-Pop edge to the moves. However as they do mostly originally come from hip-hop I feel it's important to inform people of that as I teach so they are learning also about how K-Pop has developed as a style over time. 😊
