I love non looped ambience - I know a lot of the time it's not listened to long enough to know it's looped but I do appreciate the 'authenticity'

More downtown open windows like this please! Literally the only thing that helps me get any work done since I started working from home. Best ambience channel on YT by far. Specifically ones low enough to capture distant voices vs just traffic 🙏

My childhood home, thank you. I always loved the "corn cob" twin buildings, as we used to call them. I lived on the North side by Winnemac and Paulina, the John Hancock building was visible by our back porch.💕

SO different than New York lol. I live 90 min north of Chicago and can vouge for this surprising chill silence overall. The buildings people lights and energy talks a big game - but its really not that chaotic. Just an aqua blue hue in the sky and amber roads. Maybe its the lake Michigan effect. DT Milwaukee is the same way.
As an european, it's ironical because I always thought Chicago and NYC were similar 😅
@@benjad92 they are similar in some ways like out of any big us city I have visited I would say Chicago is the closest to feeling like NYC but NYC is still much bigger
@@benjad92they're not really. Chicago is much smaller, less hectic.
It's chaotic during rush hours and on weekends like any other big city. Same as it ever was.

Living close to home (Chicago), I do manage to get back every couple of weeks, but when I'm here in Rkfd this gets me through the times when missing downtown. The noises with the view are sublime.....just needing to hear a bit more of people talking- that's okay tho

So fewer people now compared too when I lived there in the early 90s.
It's actually more populated than it was then. This might have been a Sunday or something.

Yes and no. It's facing West, looking at the Chicago River. Most consider the loop as beginning at the river. Some don't.
