Keep travelling! Morocco is such a beautiful country so it's people. I was there backpacking in September for 10 days with ZERO hassle at all. I met generous, kind, honest and helpful locals in the entire trip.

Do you think all people who said good things about Morocco are liars?
I wonder how can you give yourself the right to make a whole video speaking about the few bad experiences you had in Morocco and say that Morocco is one of the worst countries you had visited after Cuba???
Why don't you try to recognize that it was your falt because you have not made enough researches before coming to Morocco? All the beautifull words you said in your previous videos about Morocco, you destroyed them in your last video.
If you aim is to get more likes and subscribers in your chanel, it woud not definitely be with this (Sorry for the word) awkward way.
I've travelled to other countries worlwide and all what i try to remember and tell people about are the beautifull things that happen to me though i suffered from many problems but i keep them for me or i can advise people to be aware of.
I don't deny all what you said is false but missing a train (which can happen to anyone in all over the world) or be ripped off by people is not a pretext for you to say the bad things you said.
I challenge you to come again to Morocco and if you don'y know how to organise your travel to it, ask me for that and be sure that (If you are brave and honest) you will make another video to apologize about what you said.
There are many tourists who come here and never someone gave himself the right to judge it and said it is bad. In the contrary, most of them have the idea to come back and discover it better.
So try a little bit to be more mature anf frank about what you said.

I loved your vlogs until I got to this one. I had to go back and watch all the other ones you posted about Morocco. While watching them again, I could sense preconceptions that this final unfortunate experience made them a reality in your heads. This bad experience, which ,as many other fans have noted, was unfortunately the result of a lack of planning, research and time management from your part. It has brought about a great deal of bias towards a country where you kept indirectly insinuating people were not "white" like you. That 's why you were relieved to be able to go to Barcelona where chances to be around people who share your race and creed were of course better. Unless you open up your mind to differences, situations like these may occur again and again.
Having said ,this is a great project and thank you for allowing us to be mesmerized by the greatness and beauty of countries of the world, even if YOU may not appreciate them!

I think you forgot to add that by Moroccan standards you are immensely wealthy!!! Most people there could not even dream of world travel! The cheap train was late, you missed your very cheap flight. You have been exceptionally fortunate to be able to travel so easily from country to country. You are, after all in Africa, not a first world continent. I think your expectations may be a little unrealistic!

High expectations, low budget make no sense. At least you guys survived for 3 days with $60 which is about breakfast here in the us for 2 people. Morocco is a great country where rich and poor can both survive. Stop complaining please and plan your trips ahead of time it's always easy to blame it on others.

    • @HMFamilyLife

Actually they were not complaining or blaming...they were simply sharing an experience they had while traveling. More travel vloggers need to have the courage to report what it is really like traveling abroad! Everything is not rosy like you see on videos! wake up and smell the roses. BTW with $60 a couple can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in the U.S...and more if they know the restaurants to go to.

If Morroco is such a great Country, why are you living in the US? If you think Rich and Poor can both survive there together, then go and live in you Home-Country. One more Question: Why are all Morrocans try to flee to Europe or USA like you, you pathetic Hipocrate, when Morroco is a great Country where Rich and Poors lives together happy ever after?

Hi Guys! My wife and I were in Morocco a few weeks before you were there. You're right about the street vendors (street people) always hassling you for money, but we went with a tour company and our guide really protected us from them, and we really had a great time on our trip. In fact, it turned out to be one of our favorite countries to visit. I felt sorry for you guys and understand exactly what you went through, and would highly recommend to others: NOT to travel Morocco on your own, but with a tour company.

I'm really shocked about your testimony about Morocco and the bad judgement you allow yourself to give to a country, only by a simple bad experience that anyone, even a local can afford. I had bad experiences in other countries, but when i come back to my country, i never tell others about it. I only say the good things because as a traveller, i believe that the main objectif of travelling is to discover the traditions and the way of thinking of these people. Morocco in not only Fez and Chefchaoun. As a moroccan living in Casablanca, i also get ripped off when i go to Fez but this does not mean that people of Fez are not good.I think You should make some researches and try to know by yourself about prices. Each tourist, when he goes to another country can afford these bad experiences but he must negociate and discuss about prices and try to approach people by talking with them, trying to compare prices, ask other people if prices are correct. So you are not obliged to accept the first price you are asked to pay. If you had this sens of communication with people and sens of searches, you would take the bus from Tangier to Fez and not the train because there are construction works of the high speed train (TGV) whith the speed of 320km, which will link Tangier to Casablanca, that's why there is such a delay. Put also in your mind that there are 2 kinds of people in Morocco: arabs and berbers. If you go to places where berbers live like Ouarzazate, Merzouga, Taroudant, Agadir. . . Believe me that you will be schoked about the big heart of people, their hospitality, kindness, simplicity, modesty. . . Though, they will not ask you for money not try to rippe you. I don't deny that what you suffered from is not real but sorry to tell you that it was your fault because first you didn't make researches about Morocco before coming and then you focused on false problems without trying to have an open mind. I don't want to tell you that you are racists but please try to change your ideas because they are mistaken. I always respected you because i was one of your first subscribers so respect my country please. Don't forget that you visited only 2 or 3 towns, so you don't know all Morocco that's why i think you, you don't have the right to give other people a false idea. Thank you for coming to Morocco and i hope you will come back again to know it by it's real reality and not the bad one you said in your video. My Respects to you.

Hicham Traveller Sorry Hicham , me too, i have travelled in many third World countries Peru ,Mexico,or China. But I can assure you that the feeling to be a just a ATM for the locals was the worst in Morroco . This is specially true in the Medinas! But do not worry , these annoying experiences, will not prevent me to go back because it is really a wonderful country!

    • @hichamtraveller6230
      @hichamtraveller6230 6 років тому

christo fat I believe that what ever a traveller can experience during his travel, he must try to keep it for himself not tell others about these bad things which may happen not only in third wold countries. This morning, i was staying in a cafe in the ancient medina of Fez and i saw many tourists enjoying their times. Some of them were even girls travelling alone without being disturbed by locals. What i didn't like in this video is that they allow themselves to judge all a country "Moroocco" whose creation was 1200 years before and which does.not have only 2 or 3 towns. Personnaly, when i go to other countries, i never talk about bad things because surely there many good things that i should enjoy instead of giving myself the right to judge this country only by its bad things

    • @hichamtraveller6230
      @hichamtraveller6230 6 років тому

imane elyakoubi Yes sure. I don't really understand how a traveller will go to another new country that he has never known before and focus only on bad things of this country instead of trying to learn, discover and enjoy times in this country. Before i go to another country, i must read about it and try to understand it. They thing Morocco is only Fez and Chefchaoun and thall all moroccans (arabs and berbers) are bad people because they are not white like them as they say. I was really respecting both of them because i was an old subsciber to their chanel but now i really don't respect them

If I had a bad experience in a country, city or region I would feel completely comfortable sharing my opinion. You can't deny that @wayawaymag are veteran travelers and definitely have the experience to give an opinion contrasting pros and cons of their visit. As a traveler, albeit only 4-6 weeks per year, I like to have varying opinions so I can make my own informed decision on where to go and what to expect. If I only got sugar coated reviews... how does that help me? Believe it or not, their vid didn't deter me from visiting Morocco. I'd still like to go! But because of them, I am better prepared for the cultural differences and possible pitfalls to avoid. I'll piggy back on what I learned from them and do even more research to minimize frustrations. Thanks Josh and Ash!

Funny that you think that Morocco is similar to eastern European countries, because a lot of Ukranians, Polska, Russians etc.. Enjoy their time here and they don't seem to notice the "harassement" of the vendors.
Anyway, I think each and everyone have their own unique experience. And statistically some will have the best experience possible while other will experience the worst, and I think it's a general rule for traveling anywhere.

Hi guys! I really wanted to comment on your experience in Morocco as it saddened my heart to hear you had this experience. I've heard you many times say you got ripped off but honestly i feel like it wasn't even that bad? The food you got in Fez for 17 dollars was an honest price in my eyes, you were sitting alone on a terrace, got served 4 different side dishes and 2 fresh main courses. The taxi thing at the airport - it's indeed a fixed rating price of 150dh or sometimes even more.
Anyways, I went to Marrakech last summer and I think you would have gone crazy there as it's the top city as far as "ripping tourists off". I could give you tons of tips how to deal with this, but honestly I think it's important to not let it get to your heart which it sounds like it did with you guys. As far as taxi drivers, try talk to them, make jokes etc and trust me they will lower the price for you. But if you stay in your bubble they will try to scam you it's that simple. You went outside your bubble when the CTM bus didn't have any places to Chouen and low and behold someone helped you out with another bus :)
What I'm trying to say is: try to have an open mind while travelling, don't think everyone is trying to rip you off because then that is the attitude you will give off to other people. Perhaps also try to see it from a local's point of view, I'm not sure if you've googled poverty rates of Morocco but I think that would put things in another perspective as well.

Please save some money before you travel. you paid $25 a day for two people in a hotel, and less than $1 a for the soup, and you still complain. Here in New york, trains are daily lates, subways and LIRR. stay home, or go camping if you cannot afford hotels and food. every time you say that you didn't eat the whole day. what ? you want free food, go and buy it.
Next time you travel take a tent with you, also fasting is good for you health

  • @Mcfluffy99

These last couple years trains in Morocco have been out of control since the only rail ways company is focusing on building the high speed rail way for the new high speed train that supposed to be in service mid 2018 linking Casa blanca and tanger reducing the travel time from 6 hours to 2 hours. and as a Moroccan it annoys me and rages me seeing tourists being riped off i feel sorry for your bad experience with that type of people. Morocco is not a perfect country we have a long way ahead to overcome some big fat obstacles. never the less you can still enjoy the country if you can live with those issues.

I traveled in Morocco in 1969-70 and it was still "authentically ancient" amazing. These two are typical of a small % of Americans. It is very difficult for me to relate to these two whiners. Maybe not to the same degree, but I had some of the same issues happen to me travelling right here in the US. Plus, no need to go outside here to be harassed by people trying to sell you crap. From unwanted junk mail, annoying phone calls (nope! the national do not call registry does not stop all of them), to people trash diving to steal your ID. Different countries have different dynamics, but the issues are pretty much the same everywhere!

Each country has its positive and negative sides and so does Morocco. I think that you weren't ready to deal with a new country like Morocco since it was your first time to visit here. You should have at least made friends with local, they would be a great help.... during your videos in Morocco, I haven't seen you talking to any Moroccan which means that you didn't pay care to know about what are the suitable means of transportation... if you just asked a simple Moroccan about about trains, he would advise you to avoid it... I remember in 2012, I host a Japanese person here in Morocco, she came from Spain on a flight to Marrakech where I was waiting for her at the airport. She stayed with my family for 5 days, she was extremely happy that she regretted wasting time in Spain before coming to Morocco. When she was leaving, she said that her stay in Morocco cost only 110 MAD = 12 USD.
My advice to you, is that next time try to make friendships, because Google or GPS cannot help in places like Morocco. Thanks!

I tried first class many times, and there's always something that wrecks the experience, last time i took first class tickets was in the 2016 summer, it was hot so i figured that first class would be cool thanks to the air conditioner, but it was freezing in there and i didn't have anything to wear because we were dressed lightly, i got a headache afterwards. Second class is cheaper and you'll get the same things pretty much in terms of comfort. i bet if there were a third class it would be at the same level of comfort as first class, with more people and lower price.

You need to understand that the people in Morocco have a rough time and like you guys said yourselves they depend on tourism. So If they can make a couple more dollars by trying to sell you an item they will , its just so that they can survive and provide for their families. Its the reality of the situation. I also felt the same way when I visited Morocco but I also made some good friends who very decent. Travelling is also about experiencing different cultures and situations and this is one of them.

overall i would not base my decision on their opinions because they are NOT objective and it all comes down to Money.

I'm a Moroccan and very sad to see you guys having a bad ending for your trip in Morocco!! It was supposed to be a happy ending to remember it in the future. I've travelled around the world to many countries. I sure learned one thing: when I'm in North America, Europe, Australia or Japan, time is money. In other countries such as Morocco, time isn't money. I would suggest giving yourselves at least 6 to 8 hours time gap between getting to the airport and your flight departure, especially if it's the first time to that airport regardless where you are. You only had 2.5 hours left between the Fez train station and the airport without that stupid train delay. I live in North America and still go sleep at the airport if I have an early flight to make sure I will not miss my flight. I also give myself 4 hours at the airport wherever I'm in the world because of one saying: "Be ahead of time to be on time!!" It has worked for me so far. Enjoy the rest of your trip around the world!! I enjoy your channel. You're a great couple and wish you the best together!! Cheers,

You guys should watch other vlogs about Morocco, and you will notice that you almost wanted everything for free. Planning for one day long trip by train is a challenge with the railway system under construction. I think you should have fun and forget about money or people want money and all that stuff. Enjoy the weather, enjoy the food, help the needy.. those people who harass you are everywhere in the world and you have some at your local mall trying to sell you stuff.

I only have one advice for you guys, I get that you wanted to experience everything by yourselves without asking none, however I guess there s no harm in asking.. if you had asked any moroccan, s/he would recommand going to fez by CTM instead of train and that because it is known that long distance trains tend to have reputation of late or delay frequently, and as my mother says it is always better to reach early than to reach in time, moreover, i get that you were annoyed by all the people asking for money/ to buy something - as moroccan, i get annoyed by that as well- but does that really overcome all the good and fun experiences you had in morocco? I am quite curious as to know your answer..
all in all your videos were good and fun to watch...

Exactly what you said! The whole point of travelling is going outside your bubble, socialize and ask locals it's that simple. The begging thing; I feel like they forgot they went to a country that's in Africa for one and has tons of poverty. You can't blame the poor people for trying when they see 2 blonde young persons. When you get to travel to a country like Morocco, try to give back as well to the poor people, buy them food or whatever because the gratitude you will get out of that is a new experience you will not forget quickly.

I’ve never commented on a UA-cam video because by in large it’s pointless. But you guys portrayed this beloved country in such a negative light. I spent a month and a half there and although there are some systemic flaws, welcome to the developing world. If you can’t handle things like delays and people begging from you to feed their families, then stay in Europe I guess. This series on Morocco was my first and last time watching your videos based on your negativity and stereotyping of Moroccans, some of the most hospitable people in the world.
PS your whiteness does equate money whether you’ve got it or not in a developing country, thanks to colonialism. Something to be aware of or maybe educate yourself on a bit before traveling.
I’m only leaving this comment in hopes that you two will read it and be more thoughtful, patient, and aware of your privilege as you continue traveling outside of Europe.

Keep on going - tough days happen and then fade. Just so you know it could be worse. I had a flight delay in Malawi one time that made me miss a flight out of South Africa back the USA by the time I finally got home only 1 late it had cost just shy of $3000 for flights hotel food etc. So many tears were shed in the process. But I did go back to SA a year of so later and had a great time. Full disclosure that did include about $100 for a 60 min phone call to my parents when I couldn't get internet for skype and just needed to vent but at the moment I just had to.

Awesome vid. Very real. Much appreciated. The truth about being hounded for cash and/or getting ripped off is enough to keep me from going to Morocco. We spent some time in Jamaica and - outside of the resort area - had the same experience. The sellers there were very vocal and very aggressive. "Hey! Come over here! I saw you looking at my stuff! Come here!" All day long. It made it impossible to relax. I've heard Egypt is bad that way also.

  • @farouklemyesser2987

The reason the big white taxis charged you a lot is because they usually take 6 people and they share the full cost, you were alone in the taxi which means that you had to pay what another 4 people would have shared with you, if the price for the whole ride was 120Dhs 6 ppl would have paid 20Dhs each. And the reason why "les petits taxis" the small taxis did want to take you there is because there are set paths for the big taxis they can't take you everywhere, they have to go from point A to point B and comeback, the small ones on the other hand can take you anywhere you want only within the city, plus meter taxis always cost more. Also, there isn't only the train that you can take going from a city to another, you can take an autobus (CTM offers the best service in morocco, there others, but with less experienced drivers and the ride isn't as comfortable), or a big taxis. And there are 2 types of big taxis, old cabs, like the mercedes you were in, or new cabs, which are better quality and have more space might be a fiat doblo or a citroen berlingo.

A pretty fair characterization of Morocco. When we went I soon learned to assume everyone is trying to rip you off. After you assume that everything is good, we relaxed in our raid away from all the con artists outside when we needed to. You can also haggle and get great deals if you want. I left laying about $30 Canadian for a hand made leather bag that would have been at least $100 here. The orange juice is great, make sure to never buy a rug in Morocco.

My boyfriend went to Morocco years ago with his memere and her travel friend from London, and his mem said it was the only place that she NEEDED to have a tour guide. That helped them so much to not get swindled, or I guess not as badly swindled. There were still beggars and even one time these two little girls tried to distract them so that other people could steal their wallets. His memere is so unafraid to barter as well, she never backs down, even when everyone else would be too intimidated, but she also speaks French, which helped so much. That made it a mostly good experience for him, but obviously most tourists traveling on a budget will not have room for a tour guide. I feel so bad this happened to you guys! Props to you for not throwing a fit like I might have lol

    Hi Guys,
Unfortunately these practices also occur in other major tourist cities. I myself am of Moroccan origin and have for example never been to Marrakech. I do not go to these kind of tourist cities (Fez, Marrekech etc). There are too many tourists and unfortunately this has a negative effect on the sellers/Taxi's there. The vendors see tourists as money instead of as a human being. Unfortunately, this kind of people ruin our beautiful country.
As a tourist you have to try to look through this and try to find the locals and enjoy the surroundings.
Visit the north-east or south of morocco. This is a completely different morocco (without tourists). Here hospitality is at the top. You should never take the train to get anywhere on time. Grab a touring car. It is cheaper and much faster.

I guess its often the chain of events, not one single thing but one bad thing leading to another. I never been to Morocco but I believe even with all the bad experiences there are still plenty of good people there and amazing stuff its just shame you guys were unlucky and had such a bad trip all together. It all worked out in the end and its always a life experience you learn smth from. Most of us had some horrific travels and situation when an amazing trip suddenly turns into a nightmare and we all learn from it to make sure it never happens again. I remember back in the days without smartphones and internet available everywhere, almost no money left, I got stuck in Paris as a teenager in the middle of the night 2am, New Years Eve. Same thing happened almost, the metro got shut bc of some incident, I got lost trying to find a diff connection and almost missed my coach. Thank God some complete stranger, a local guy, helped me and I managed in the last minute to get to the station. Since then I never travel without a credit card and always leave plenty of time to get to my transport especially when I travel international. Always plan ahead and make sure I know a potential alternative just in case and avoid night travel if I can.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas with family and recharged batteries for the 2018.

hey guys! according to your videos in Morocco, I think that the trip was not that bad at all!!! And obviously you paid normal and fair prices for your meals. 70 DH each for a couscous and a tajiine is not that much and the portions were very good! You went to very cheap restaurants in the medina, and prices are much higher in other places of" higher standing" restaurants including in that part of the city. The price of coffee in Fes is between 5 DH and 50 DH according to the place of your choice! I don't think that you can eat correctly for 7 bucks each in the US!!!
In Morocco there are 2 kinds of taxis, the big and the small, in Fes the big is white and the small is red, the white one witch you took to the airport, is like a shuttle, and can transport up to 6 persons while the red one can take only 3 and can not go outside the city. The fairs are double after 8 pm. You paid the fair price!!! But you could have paid only 3.5 DH by bus, or booked a shuttle (by internet!) if you had well planned your trip!

Unfortunately when boarding closes the plane doors quickly follow and the plane is officially departed even though It could still be at the gate 30minutes later. Opening those doors and letting someone in would be breaking about 50 international aviation laws and not to mention pilot and cabin crew would need to Re do all pre flight checks.

This video is very misleading and does not represent the travelling experience in Morocco by any means. Sure you missed your flight because the train broke down, but you could have avoided this mess if you have done your research and planned ahead of time like any experienced traveller would do. Not to be judgemental or anything but you guys are still amateurs and very stereotypical about things. I have visited Morocco many times and I sometimes I had to go through some unpleasant experiences there but that doesn't cancel all the enjoyment I had throughout my stay.

  • @tireqqaa7068
    @tireqqaa7068 6 років тому +31

Been following your videos for a while now but this was just completely off putting. You definitely get what you pay for and trying to be extreme cheapskates is what led you to this.
Trains get delayed constantly, so you putting your faith onto a train schedule is your own wrong-doing. That specific route is under heavy construction. I’ve taken plenty of Amtrak trains in the US, never has the train been on time - an hour late was the earliest my Amtrak has been. Internet in Morocco is relatively cheap, they’ll literally give you a sim card when you first get off the plane in the airport so you just expecting internet everywhere is pretty odd. I’m extremely disappointed in you guys. I get that you want to travel the world but it just comes off as you trying to exploit a poor country for your own benefit. You would be much more comfortable paying much more than what you paid in Morocco, in Europe without batting an eye.

Hey, moroccan guy here, obviously it's not your fault for missing your plane, but as a local, I found it pretty predictible that there would but a problem regarding the train. Your airbnb host should've told you so, but oh well, sh*t happens. anyways I really enjoyed your videos and I hope you have, to some extent, enjoyed your stay in our country .I definetly have a new apreciation for Morocco after seeing it through your eyes , so keep the good content coming and good luck on your future adventures !

All I saw in this video is negativity about the country,Morocco is such an amazing country and its people are hospitable and wonderful. You keep saying that you got ripped off to mind you I'm Moroccan I live in the US and I can tell you based on the prices you mentioned that's not a rip off and regarding the people that try to sell you stuff that's their source of providing for their families you can just decline or say no and keep moving that's what I personally do. I would suggest that you have a better budget and planning next time you travel so you won't have as much problems.good luck.

the White taxis that's same rate (120 Dirhams=12$) for moroccans so they were not trying to rip you off.. talking about Taxis in Germany i paid once 45 Euros for a 10 minutes ride "from the Airport".. i had the same experience also in Warsaw "Poland.
the fact that some see you as an ATM, i also experienced that in my own country :D it's kind of, a weird feeling but unfortunately it's true.

In England, trains get cancelled sometimes not only delayed. Pay and you can a private jet in Morocco. Nowadays, traveling is a very costly hobby. The world became an international village and money can open roads and solve problems. If you do have money ,and you still would like to travel, get a sponsor.😎

Seeing all your videos in Morocco, seems that it’s a wonderful country and that you had an amazing time. But the only thing that you seem to remember at your conclusion is how bad your trip was because of some people tried to scam you cuz you’re tourists, knowing that happens everywhere in the world, i personally was scammed in Italy and Turkey...it’s a shame that you didn’t mention how glamourous and magical this country and most importantly how friendly most people are so shame on you...

Totally agree... I'm Moroccan, and I can't travel to another city for 2 nights without expecting to spend at least a 100$ by myself. Their expectations are way higher than what they're willing to pay. It doesn't make sense at all! Do some research before your visit. It helps!

You are basically doing the exact thing they were complain about by trying to tell them to purchase a guide. Not everyone enjoys or wants to be guided around and would rather do it on their own. I completely understand where they are coming from. When you travel countries like this you do constantly try to get ripped off. Even with guides they would try until guides would step in and argue with them.

I think your experience would have been much better if you did some planning, and researched how much things cost in Morocco. You went with the assumption that everything should be dirt sheep and it is simply not the case. Morocco is a historic mystical country with an amazing mixture of old and new. Sadly, you missed the entire magical experience and the chance to enjoy the land of the first homo sapien found fossils because of your "not so informed "opinion about Morocco and Moroccans. Don't expect a land to be gracious and welcoming to you if you are cheap and condescending.

You can’t travel without a contingency plan... delays do happen everywhere or you face unforeseen issues. As for taxi drivers from airport, the rate is set by the government and yes they are more expensive than the city taxis -the colorful ones (which they do not go to the airport by law). So no, they were not trying to screw you. Also, Morocco is not a cheap destination. You spent $300 for an extra day for two, that’s actually not bad (which includes hotel, food and flights for one day for two people). you can’t be traveling for free and expect everything goes to plan... deviating from the plan is part of traveling.

Hey, folks, sorry you had such a crappy time in Morocco; btw side note...you spent 2 weeks in Morocco and didn't do Marrakesh or Essaouira...or did I miss a vid? I live in the UK and travel to Morocco every so often and, yes, it can be the hard sell, but I've had that in New York! You guys have a wonderful nativity, and your enthusiasm makes me come back time and time again to your chanel, but folks, there's a certain savvy-ness (is that even a word!!!!) you need to when travelling - if you think you're being perceived as an "ATM", then don't be afraid/embarrassed to haggle to get the prices down. Don't get sooo irate about locals trying to sell you something - just say No (La'a Shokran) and carry on. I get it may feel like a tsunami of sellers, but remember, these guys don't have a Bentley outside their villa - they may get one sale that provides a meal for themselves/ their families.
Let's face it, you both had a really bad string of luck. You were sick, the trains were shocking (pls try taking Southern in the UK, then that 2 hours really ain't so bad) and the hotels and flights weren't as cheap as you were hoping they were.
I have family in Marrakesh, so if you feel that once you're over the trauma and want to give Morocco another go, then give us shout and we'll make sure you have a friendly contact, where you're not constantly on guard, and you can get to experience the kind, friendly and hospitable nature of the Moroccan & Berber people. Guys...still can't believe you didn't come to Marrakesh...

I like these kind of REAL videos. They give a true representation of some of the challenges of traveling in different parts of the world. I think it's good to show how, even seasoned travelers, can be challenged by some of the cultural differences so the rest of us can be better informed if we chose to go there. I know you made it OUT ok, because when Ashley was looking at her phone when you were in the airport it said November. But anxious to see if you did make it to Barcelona.

Very true. Travellers *should* do some research before going off the beaten path. Or book through a trvale agency, to travel with a group. Downside is you'll travel with complete strangers you may not get along with, but you'll be shielded from most of the "challenges".

Yep! Thanks Gayle! As always we like to show our true experience wherever we go. I think Morocco is more suited to Luxury travel and tours. A DIY approach (like we are used to) will just result in frustration. Which is a pity, because as you know we like to experience and embrace the local culture. Sadly, in this instance, the local culture just wanted to embrace our cash. :/ BUT it is beautiful there and we met many kind people along the way.

Edges Of Earth you can really have a good time in morocco i advice you to come to marrakech if you have a law badget try to rent appartments or cheap hotels , if you wanna visite other cities try to visit cities that are near each other (money and time) not being in the north and geting to the south as they did that costs lot of money , for food you can eat at snaks or street food . Its better to travel by CTM buses . .for people who going to sell you things or ask for tips don t allow them to show you tell them no thank you in the first place to stop them otherwise feel confortable to ask locales are friendly and they be happy to help you, that couple were coming with stereotype idea that made them pay a lot by the end not every moroccan is going to rip you off just few poor people who find that this is the way to earn money .sorry for my english😜
