That engine knock is the crank tapping the sump at the front section , run it and feel the sump , same thing happend to us it was because we used a thin gasket
Had the same problem drove motor home in the back of the Ute tray with stuff under sump to keep the motor level. Put the motor in, turned it over and had a huge knock. Took sump off, turns out on the trip home, we hit a bump and the sump caved in just enough that the crank was hitting on it.
Gday, the knock isn’t good but reading the comments has that sorted, bloody awesome viewers willing to help is fantastic, keen to see next weeks episode, cheers
that scotchbrite wheel most likely would have made the surface of the flywheel wavy and may cause the clutch to slip under load, it’s probably a good idea to get the flywheel faced by a machine shop
To get oil pressure you disconnect the plug to the fuel pump and crank for like 30 second then connect the fuel plug and she start just for next time 😂 love this vids
the weld on the inside of the sump for the oil drain?. otherwise the 10mm fuel pump could be flogged and isn't getting anywhere near enough fuel to the engine.

Bro! That’s exactly it! You’re a legend! We got a thicker gasket from bursons to try, it’s still not super thick like the factory one tho!
I’m glad that’s all it was man !!

Definitely rock the red side of the tyre. Looks sick
I recon do a good full rebuild paint cab since you doing all that effort
Gonna need those TD42ti longer oil squirters under the piston heads if your gonna chuck a turbo on a silver top
fuck no silver top love boost my last one was 30psi 230hp for 3 years until I sold it
Nice way to snap off the oil squirter and crack a piston
Definitely put the pump of the GU since its boost compensated
loving the series

Did you guys support the front of the gearbox in anyway or was it fine just hangin there?
Crank hitting sump
Total Tyres & Auto for the win 9:50
Do you have a size of the thread for the fitting used to feed oil to the turbo please?
I think from memory, 1/8 bsp into the block, then depends on your oil hose fittings from there! Hope that helps 👌
@@RoamLyfe perfect thank you
What’s the difference between a silver top td and a normal td
Silvertops were only non turbo and in the gq's blacktops were in gu's and sometimes came turboed and a few other things
Definitely red side out on Ron
First love your work brother ❤👍🇦🇺🤟🤟
Careful around the back of the ute boys. I think ole rex took a dump back there! 💩
Never clicked so fast 😂😂
same
I was wondering what happened to terry the Triton lol
Is the sump dented? Sounds like crank hitting it

@@biggles9604 the crank is close to the bottom of the sump. During transport and fitting it can get dented a little. Sounds just like this
Buy yourself an Aquablast installation
no flipping way i just brought a set of the exact same tyres with the red writing and 35's
I would of put the manifold on before putting engine in as the back stud can be a prick to put the nut on
Clearly I am dislexic and read the title of this vid to be " F@#$ING DESTROYED THIS NISSAN PATROL" 🤣🤣
Another ripper lads... well done!
Ex-eadie???
OrEx-eyed??
"If it wasn't for that noise, it would sound perfect", sounds like my ex

I came at the point where it shows how many seconds between everyone, you in fact. By 2 seconds, we’re first. Congrats. Lol😂
