Best game I ever played.
I played every souls game after I played Elden Ring, nothing compares to the difficulty and beauty of Elden Ring.
This made me strangely emotional. Elden Ring released while I lived alone, attending school and quarantined. For weeks on end, every spare minute I had was spent exploring the Lands Between. While the reality of that time is more nightmare than nostalgia I relished in the opportunity to play with almost zero distractions or intrusions. The DLC is the first thing I've been truly hyped for for years, I've even booked time off work for it. Props to FromSoftware for making such a fascinating world, can't wait to go back.

before Elden Ring I never played a Fromsoft Game in my life (ironically tried DS2 and hated it lol), after this masterpiece I don't think there is any other developer that delivers ART like them. The only game I've ever platinumed, truly a game that will be remembered!!

That’s the thing I would of jus said cool thought nothing of it too much but when I actually started to play souls game and pay close attention it was mind blowing I jus started playing through them all now I’ve completed them all several times and DLCs too

This was my first souls game and it changed my entire perspective on games. Before it was FPS and ADHD riddled gameplay, but Elden Ring forced me to learn patience, enabled me to focus more on open world games (something I struggled with for my entire life) it taught me a whole new way of playing games.
I’ve since beaten Elden Ring 7+ times, and I’m almost finished with my Souls Journey.

@@simongomes7250 i always loved fromsoft lore in their games but because the games are so liniar, so small main path no real exploration but in ER you have this lore accurate world without limits. You can go to every location in your own way and have a unique journey compared to other ER players. This is what makes ER unique compared to past fromsoft games. Best fromsoft game. Not even close

The fact that this is almost all actual in game footage is astounding. There’s a certain cinematic and picturesque feel to the whole game. The art design is absolutely incredible.

My friend played this on a laptop. It's not a bad laptop but not a top of the line either. The fact that something this beautiful can be so well optimized and still look so stunning is also a work of art.

Well optimised? I don't think we're looking at the same game. The game is beautiful, but the actual graphical fidelity (model, texture and effect details) are on par with games from 10 years ago. The engine just isn't great, so performance is severely lacking.

@@a5hen I've made like 20 different characters with different builds and themes across the ps4 and ps5 version of the game. I literally downloaded the game again on another version because I ran out of slots. I'd say it has replay value lmao
@@a5hen The sheer scale of the game is what kills replayability for me. The past Soulsborne games I'd just steamroll the whole thing in 8-10h on subsequent playthroughs while ER takes like 50h or so. Still, it's mostly a me thing as these days sadly I don't have much time for longer playthroughs. Also, my first run was memorable enough for me so I don't consider that exactly as a problem.
Nothing in gaming, hell, any media, will ever compare what it's like to experience Elden Ring and the Souls-Borne games for the first time.
Except Red Dead 2 and Skyrim😂

Elden Ring was my first souls game. I was glued to my computer for weeks after I got it about 2 weeks after launch. That feeling of exploring the game is indescribable. June 21st couldn't come soon enough!
The first game to make me feel this way since Skyrim all those years ago!

@LaCazaLP Don't play then, elden ring is an amazing game and the dlc will be even better. Totally worth the 40$ price tag it has. People also forget that it was originally gonna be 2 dlc but they combined them into one big one.
@@LaCazaLPthen you can miss out. I will happily support a dev team that takes their game seriously and pours every ounce of passion they can into it. This game is built off of blood sweat and tears and it shows in all the little and large details. If you don’t wanna support that, that is on you.

@@19okan I was pleasantly surprised and happy about the release date. There were rumors going around that it was still a while before release which had my thinking it was going to be 2025. 3 months is nothing although it will most likely be a really long 3 months lol.

No Maidens for 2 strait years
This is very emotional for me. I have been though a lot in this two years, lot of changes, important people entering and dissappearing from my life, but Elden Ring was always there for me. My comfort zone and my place to escape from the reality. I know there are a lot of other games, i have enjoyed other Fromsoftware games, but Elden Ring opened a whole other world, playing a game and at the same time enjoying a well made book. Thank you VaatiVodya for giving all of us your videos explaining lore, and showing all your hard work and love for the game. Two years of Elden Ring, but we'll have a couple more with the DLC!
I remember being bummed out that the Dark Souls series had ended, little did I know we would get something beyond any expectation I possibly had. One of the greatest, if not the greatest game I've ever played. Will definitely go down as a timeless classic. Masterpiece through and through and still have go just sit back and awe of the art style, scenery, beauty and hard work they put into this game. So excited for the DLC.

Remember how when elden ring first leaked people were complaining about the graphics by comparing to demon souls? Noone talks about demon souls now lol. It has better graphics sure, but elden ring has the superior art style
Honestly they should probably make game trailers more like this. It made me feel like playing again, and I cannot imagine how I would feel if this was the first footage I saw from a game yet to be released

Two years of Elden Ring. During this time I had the pure joy to discover and finish at 100% Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, and Sekiro. Now in 1 month, I will journey again in the Lands between. Though it won't be exactly the same as the first time, I know it will great.

the february 2022 was difficult to me yet this game helped me to abstract myself from reality for a while. this world is just perfect, the bosses, the music... man the game is just a pure masterpiece

I was really upset when god of war didn't win goty. Then I thought souls games were just not interesting and never tried them. Im laughing at how delusional i was. I started playing souls games in 2022 right after ER won goty.I decided to start from the beginning Dark Souls(sry demon's souls fans)it hooked me in never in my life have i read item descriptions but in that game i was so invested in the lore that i read every single piece of lore the game had. The bosses, the atmosphere and all the different types of builts you could experiment with fascinated me. I completed the souls trilogy (my fav trilogy rn) and i even loved ds2 though it had its flaws. Playing BB currently absolutly hooked. Heard that its the best soulsborne. I hope that the game exceeds my expectations. (Still havent played ER though im going in order so i get all the references)
Truly a masterpiece in the gaming world this game will never be forgotten and will inspire so many more adventures to come this game changed me as a man I love this game with all my heart and I will never ever experience a game like this ever again in my life opening the doers to king rage was the best thing I’ve ever done thank you for this masterpiece ❤
I'm currently replaying the game in anticipation of the DLC! What a masterpiece. Sometimes I see some Souls fans disregard it as the "worst in the series" but it's really not. This game is leagues above any Dark Souls for me. The exploration, the scale, the lore, it all means so much more to me
I've not been on elden ring since earning platinum on the PS4 version over a year ago but with the dlc I will start a fresh save soon & try to recapture that 1st time feeling ( sadly I won't) but I may have forgotten certain routes through the lands between so that's kinda close maybe...

A month ago I started playing the game again because of the DLC and elden ring is really a master piece.
As soon as I heard that I’d have to burn Melina alive to get to the ending I decided to go the FF route with the idea of needle in mind. She still wanted to kill me but at least my maiden did not have to burn..
I remember walking righ into caelid at the start of my playthrough and getting invaded immediately

I started playing Elden Ring at Christmas I fell in love with it
The only thing I want FromSoftware to improve is graphic quality. That's the only part where their games are lacking compared to recent AAA-grade games (and maybe try not to repeat the same monster/map designs..?). I hope their next Souls game is as good as, let's say, Horizon Forbidden West, RDR 2 or Alan Wake 2 in terms of graphics. One can only hope.. Anyways, thank you FS... Elden Ring was truly my all-time best game up to today.
