More than a year ago I had made this video, which became the most viewed on the channel. Both for the more controversial ending and for the title intentionally chosen for it. However, I confess that with the original video, I was not able to convey all the poetic and emotional grandeur that this game and this ending possessed. That's why this time I bring the definitive version and a remake of that same video.

And yet we still die in the end; those who were oppressed one day will become opressors, and there will still be wars waged no matter how hard we beg for them to end. for these people its all the same and there seems to be no end to the struggle either; the Golden Order failed to stay pure, its gods are fickle and flawed, the scarlet rot has cursed the land and to top it all off, even in death there is no true peace cause they can't exactly pass on. @accelerationquanta5816 Nihilism is true, but that doesn't mean it has to end in depression or ending your life because it's pointless. I prefer to subscribe to Soren Kierkegaard's philosophy of optimistic Nihlism. Life has no meaning and that is liberating because you make the meaning.

@@62cky4powerthirstThis is essentially Existentialism or a form of Absurdism depending on your opinion of it.
The reason Nihilism is not considered 'true' by most is because in many cases, it results in depression or suicide. In other words, its not a sustainable or practical way to live your life because humans are as chained to meaning as we are to emotion or will. Nihilism is akin to doing the first half of the equation but not completing the rest. Anybody with two eyes and a brain capable of deductive reasoning will quickly figure out Nihilism by the age of 14 in the western world. What is much harder to do, is to find the things that you hold dear to you and to live with all your heart for those things.
Accepting that the world is meaningless is the easy part. The hard part is forging something for yourself, some tie to this world or some personal meaning beyond that fact. A future is not given to you, it is something you must take for yourself.

the frenzied flame isn't nihilism it's antinatalism or extrem pessimism. one may even see the quest of the lord of Frenzy to destroy all life as a kind of existential purpose. from the perspective of the player character who chose the frenzied flame they are acting in the name of justice. to prevent all future suffering is a goal worth striving towards for those who see no alternative. it can be seen as something that keeps them going for if they failed all the suffering, despair afflicion every sin and every curse would continue. so it is a pretty negative philosophy even more so than nihilism since nihilism isn't inherintly good or bad it's just nothing, but it's not nihilism

The frenzied flame ending hits harder when you see the cut quest for Kale the nomadic merchant at the beginning of the game. I still view it as canon because the shunning grounds are the dark underbelly of The Lands Between, the side of the golden order that noone wanted to see, thus good reason to be so done with everything, to be done with life itself despite the natural inclination to hold onto one's own life. This is what despair is, and where many of the problems we face in life are born from and exacerbated by; our need, our want to and unyielding desire to exist as long as possible. And Dark Souls 3 showed what happens when you cling onto something for too long, it malforms, contorts and withers into a shell of its fromer self

The Frenzied Flame ending unironically helped me look at life differently. I have made a lot of stupid mistakes in my life and they always haunt me because they have made a permanent stigma out of me. As i was going through the questline i begun to think outward as well not just about my mistakes but the world's as well. There are many injusticies and crimes happening in our world both known and unknown, why should we press on when there is no hope or chance for a better tomorrow? Why should we fail why should we cry, why should we suffer, why why why. The Frenzied Flame ending made me feel at peace, it was as if everything had truly ended and nothing mattered anymore and i want the same for me as well, to feel at peace and not disappoint myself or those around me anymore, if i could die painlessly right now without anyone knowing i existed, i would die without regrets. I don't know if anyone will read this, i just wanted to right now my thoughts somewhere and in my moment of weakness this video came to mind and the comment section felt like the perfect place. A comment worthy of being written on the walls of my room to read every day before bed! So magnificent when I find someone who correctly interpreted the ending of the frenzied Flame. Most people take this ending as a reset of the world, even though there is no evidence of even mention of a reset. The end of the frenzied flame is not a solution to fix the problems within life, but rather, to erase the problem that is life itself. The source of all pain and suffering.
In this ending, we become god, not a creator, but rather, a repairer of the primordial error, a god capable of silencing the anguished and incessant song of the primordial yearning. All pain and anguish can now disappear forever.
There is no denying that our philosophical convictions directed us to this end. Just like you, I made many mistakes, mistakes that still haunt me and shape me as a person. This even led me to start writing a literary work inspired by my traumas, mistakes, and philosophical views of the world.
I don't know you, but I believe that people like us, tired of this miserable world full of pain; We chose not to bring anyone here. Like the lord of chaos himself, we are silencing the song of our species' longing. And we embrace the abyss of non-being.

And, the embrace of the absurd, the hope of being, is simply the root of all evil. If people weren't so hopeful about life, maybe we could abandon this ship as soon as possible and get rid of all the pain and suffering that life has imposed on us. Not necessarily with a direct suicide, but rather with a poetic suicide of the species by rejecting procreation. Simply say no to what happens. The frenzied flame ending is not only the most exciting, but the only plausible ending. Reject new births and merge everything into one thing, so that true death will fall on everything at once. And the story's conclusion is finished. "No more cycles. No more births."
I confess that I am also writing a work. But it deals with artistic and fantasy representations of my traumas, my afflictions, my deepest desires. Etc. With a good pinch of my contempt for the idea of being at the expense of the non-existential abyss.

Dear person who made this, this is brilliant. Lord of the Frenzied Flame ending was one of the most beautiful endings I ve ever seen in a video game. This edit you made, this is not just a perfect edit, it is a brilliant thought, a brilliant vision. You have managed to portray ''a new found divinity'' perfectly. Also hearing Teil ll was incredibly suprising for me because it is one of my favourite music pieces of all time. Im writing this because you need to understand that what you made here is enhancing a debetable idea, and make it glorious with the perfect use of visiuals and audios and quotes. Its a serious talent. Please keep it up and thank you for sharing your vision and thank you for this masterpiece.

I don't think humanity is going to build a true thinking, feeling, conscious AI with it's own philosophy on life: atleast not in my lifetime.

Frenzied Flame was never the solution. You are aware that the flame doesnt just purify, it tortures and maddens before it finally kills in one of the worst ways possible. Atleast the other endings ensure that those suffering from eternal life can finally die while allowing for new life to spring forth. But in what world would you have chosen this ending over any other???
The frenzied flame ending is just a submission to the greater will and the world at large. Its like saying "yeah itd have been better to have never been born at all, so we may as well just kill ourselves and ima take everyone else with me."
In other words its the 'I bitched out' ending because instead of returning death or making room for new life, you crush out its potential and deny anyone who is currently or yet to exist, the possibility of joy. Its made even worse because you are essentially justifying the GW's "mistake". Life is not the problem, the golden order, the elden ring and the greater will were each and all the problems.

The purpose of life is not simply to endure so much as it is to broaden variety and depth of experience itself. Does anything have intrinsic value in an objective sense? Of course not, yet we live on because there are things that tie us to our lives. And that is enough of a reason to keep on living ie. The point.

I can't pretend I'm not among them, but the sheer amount of people who would rather have never been than suffer the way we all do does give me pause. I've always maintained that the story of a game can change a life. It did for me, specifically Final Fantasy XIV did, Hydaelyn shattered my notion of the world and helped me see it with new eyes. I think perhaps the Frenzied Flame has done the same for a lot of people, but instead of the glimmering hope Hydaelyn inspired me to reach for, instead the Flame of Frenzy's gift was a comfortable pyre on which to burn...
