    Chatterbaits have become my favorite 24/7 365 bait. Paired with any color Vilecraw, it's a killer combo for any large fish. (Flatheads love them).

    Hey Scott, if you noticed a crazy dude swinging past you on 74-West in a gold Buick a week or so ago and giving you a hang ten, it was me. I was kind of fanboying and had to check to see if it was you. Keep up the good work. Tight lines!

    Hi Scott! Great tip video, I liked the second part but would have loved a lot longer and clearer shots of the sonar to see what you are talking about. You reference stuff quite a few times on the screens but it's impossible to see what you're talking about. I find learning the sonar has been a lot more difficult to get a good grasp on than the tackle portion, would be nice to focus on that aspect with really clear sonar examples. I know it's a pain but you can record segments and maybe the Great Bearded One could splice some of that in to a future tips video. God bless!

    Scott, or anyone I guess. I live in South Dakota and fish for bass a lot but we have different grasses than what I see in most of UA-camrs videos.. I have been trying to find out if there's a certain type of grass I should be fishing or if mossy spots will hold bass too? I have fished with senkos and chatterbaits but have yet to catch anything on them too.

    Hey Scott, I fish the Kissimmee chain and I need some tips for fishing pepper grass and reeds. Theres a spot near my dock where the main lake meets a reed line, the section of main lake is thick with pepper grass for about 50 yards out(4-5ft depth) and half a mile along the reed line. I see bass bust in the pepper grass all the time, and hear huge ones in the reed but I can't get them to bite.
    Ive only caught one on a frog and thats after I anchored down(in the pepper grass/main lake facing the reeds) and casted towards the reeds for 2 hours. Any tips would help thanks.

    Chatter Bait! Won Acadamy Award for best Bait ever!

  • @mikelanning5148
    @mikelanning5148 7 років тому

    How do you fish if you show up to a lake and it has a lot of black "snot" grass floating in it and covering all the brush and bottom? I had this happen to me and I was lost on how to choose baits as everything came back covered in the black nasty stuff. But other people caught them as it took 21lbs to win the tournament.

    • @bassmatters9849
      @bassmatters9849 7 років тому

      Mike Lanning I feel your pain brother, a lot of the lakes here in nc have that crap in it. I try to avoid it and find rocky areas were it cant grow. Chatterbaits and shallow square bills are the only thing I can get through that and only sometimes will it come through.
      I have yet to catch a fish around that crap so I just avoid it like the plague.

    • @mikelanning5148

      I am in nc and really struggle when I face this mess. Thanks for the information. I need any help I can get. I was surprised when people were weighing in limits and I struggled so much!

    • @bassmatters9849
      @bassmatters9849 7 років тому

      Mike Lanning Tuckertown reservoir is the worst for black algae (snot grass). We had a tournament there in February and we all did pretty good. There were a couple 18lb bags weighed in that day. I fished from the back of a boat and had 13lbs so I dont think it hurts the fish much its just got to find that hard bottom. The lilly pad stems that were submerged still is were the big sacks came from.
      Lake norman has black algae now also:(

    • @mikelanning5148
      @mikelanning5148 7 років тому

      Bass Matters Tuckertown is where I was talking about. I caught a few on some rip rap but even that had the black stuff hanging off the tree limbs. I have not been to Norman recently. Is the stuff a over Norman now?

    • @bassmatters9849
      @bassmatters9849 7 років тому +1

      Mike Lanning Its not as bad on norman but I have found it from 150 bridge all the way down to the dam. A lot of my good stumps were useless now.

      I think so! I tried it in practice on the potomac last week. Since everyone throws a swimjig and a chatterbait, I thought it would show the fish something a little different. Not a single bite. Just stuck with the chatterbait and a worm for the tournament.
