This makes sense why I've been attracted to women that were cheerful outgoing and a bit daring, even on the crazier side.
My mother was always more cautious, and a bit shy -which doesn't attract me.
However I've been disappointed when the women is not competent or rational or displays too much need.
I guess my mom always kept things together, self sufficient and regulated.
My dad was more opposite, both liked travel.
I'm a mix of both.
It's a tall order seeking the best of my mothers traits and on top of that something opposite, combined with similar goals and paths in life.

Hi!!! This is really interesting. Does this apply for heterosexual relationships only or could the phenomenon also be found in same gender ones?
Furthermore, my dad wasn’t really around my childhood and I don’t really have any complaints or negative character traits associated with him. What would that mean for me? Finally, what is this phenomenon called?
