My guy, seconds before Shadow says that line, he literally says that "Nine's Alphas created a massive army of duplicates to keep him down there". He probably tried to run up the wall but he kept being sent back down again due to the number of robots.

I for real believe that, instead of stretching this out, they could’ve tied it up in a perfect little bow by just making it a Netflix movie for the end of the series. That would do wonders for the pacing also, I think. Because they lost their mind making it all pure action. Some of the best parts were the character moments, but it’s so spread out and takes so long to get to you slowly lose interest. But yeah, they relied way too heavily on action this season, and it turned into rinse and repeat until it’s time for a story moment.
I did enjoy sonic prime season 1 and 2. They had a lot of problems but I was still having a good bit of fun. Season 3 was just too repetitive. The final battle went on for WAY too long, a good few of the shatter space characters felt either pointless or had their arcs rushed like with Dreads, shadow barely being able to interact with anyone besides sonic, the constant back and for of "This isn't you nines!", I am so upset with how this show ended

I think a missed opportunity would be to bring the emeralds to the table, like seriously imagine a prismatic Nine vs Super sonic. I felt like that would be a interesting finale considering we already got prismatic sonic. Also felt like Nine's villain time went for too long considering at the end it literally took talking to him to stop him, only for Sonic to do what he was trying to avoid..like...seriously?
Yeah, I kinda assumed nine was gonna get an actual form when they went up there. But nine just ended up not even doing anything except making robots to fight them. Someone like nine, who's done stuff himself for so long its weird to see him so reliant on robots instead of combat. Also, we never even got to see a full prismatic sonic transformation only with like a few shards
Also, I know the prism was unstable because of the lacking power but SERIOUSLY, if one share can power an entire city (new yoke) then I think all of them combined could do more. Nine spent like the entirety of its power on thousands of robots. It's weird he didn't just give up the grim walls and use it all. I'll give props though, nine did directly say at the end of s2 that using the power on yourself is risky, but nine should've just done it

It would be completely reasonable at that stage for him to overdue the charge and he absorbs it's power transforming him. But yeah the emeralds were a complete waste, what was the point showing one off if you were just going to get rid of it..oh wait that's right! Fan Service.
I feel like the whole character debate is what made enjoying this last season of Prime difficult, because every time I was trying to watch it the stupid "Is this what the characters would actually do?" question would pop in my head and it really hindered my experience. Not only that but how long some of the season dragged on for because it didn't need to be this long.
From what I've seen on Twitter, season 3 is the culmination of every single problem I've had with Sonic Prime since season 1. Boring one-note characters with little depth, repetitive writing that makes it really frustrating to binge the show, and locations that are horribly bland and uninteresting. It is truly a shame that this show really couldn't find its footing in the end, not even for the people who have liked it since the beginning.
@kao7143 Remebering back, season 1 had an episode or two that felt like they dragged on, but it was overall interesting enough. I think the most interesting season was two because of its teasing towards nine being the villian
I think Season 3 definitely could’ve been better if the characters had something more to do that wasn’t just fighting robots over and over I would’ve love to seen Shadows interaction with the rest of the gang for example. So much wasted potential sadly and for me this show not sticking the landing affects it for me.
Sonic had his cool moments, but I was frustrated at *how many times* he kept getting his ass kicked, beaten down, falling on his face, etc. and... just NOT learning from it. There were so many times where he would take a hit or fall from a high place and just land face first on the floor, even in moments where that wouldn't normally happen with his character otherwise. Even the Netflix After School channel uploaded a "Sonic Fall Counter" video and it amounted to 109 times (which is insane for a 24 episode series 💀). His stubbornness reared its ugly head in literally every aspect of his character in this series, and it's like the writers intentionally dumbed him down so he could "be more relatable to kids" when that was never an issue with Sonic prior.

Well, to tell you this, Ian Flynn has made his tweets on Twitter once Sonic Prime is over, he stated that Sonic Prime takes place some time after Sonic Advance 3(Yes, I said Some time after, not directly after it), but that's not all. He follows up that this also covers Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors, given Orbot and Cubot's appearance. Plus, Ian Flynn also said that he's not the one to choose to make Sonic Prime canon, and he was only a Story Consultant for the show itself. Also, the man behind the show(kinda forgot his name) made a clarification about the whole missing episode 8th situation. He stated that Episode 1 in the First Season were supposedly 2 episodes put together in 1 Episode. Also, that cliffhanger ending for Season 3 is always meant Sonic is off to his next adventure.
8:45 I agree so hard about Nine. I think he had a good reason to want to do what he did which is why it felt so weird that Sonic just...didn't listen to him. For some reason he doesn't figure out that Nine wanted to make a plane for the two of them until he sees the palm trees in the very last episode which is why I feel like we hear the "this isn't you" line so much cuz he genuinely doesn't understand. I get that Sonic was so concerned about Green Hill that he didn't consider his perspective at first but it takes him far too long to figure that out and by the time he does he can't actually have a conversation with Nine because the show's over. They tried to have both the climatic fight and the reasoning argument at the same time but spent so much time on the fight that nothing truly feels resolved and that's a real bummer. EDIT: Also there's a point in the fight where Sonic jokes that he fell off and "splats" which is funny but also...isn't Sonic trying to reason with him? Or is he trying to win? I think that's probably a big thing with this Sonic too, it's not even clear what Sonic actually wants to do or what the win condition is for our heroes. It's just a muddy and confused fight from start to finish.

I probably forgot because you're right, it didn't seem to stick on either character of what each other's perspective was. And yeah, they didn't need an entire season to resolve that and it's a shame they didn't conclude things in a way where they showed true understanding instead of a rushed forgiveness.
I agree with everything you said, but there's one problem I also had with the series in general. I felt like sonic was weak. Like, MAD weak throughout. I don't have a problem with him struggling here and there, but mans was getting washed or had to be saved in almost every fight he was in, especially when it wasn't a generic robot. And I think it may have been the worst this season. I don't remember him taking down any major robots this season and he was still getting bailed constantly. There's no way prime sonic and game sonic, who's been fighting solo for several games against worse odds, are the same character.
When Sonic fell to his death after getting shot by Nine, he yelled the whole way down... Nine expression went from glad to concern for what he did... Only for Sonic to sneak up from behind and yell, "SPLAT!!" That was perfectly done and in line with how Sonic is.
I'm just surprised it's over already. Feels like only yesterday they announced it in the June 2022 Sonic Central. I thought it would go on for at least as long as Sonic Boom did.
I will say that while season three wasn’t the best, the other two seasons of prime were honestly pretty good. I just wish they kept that same momentum of quality, at least to me, throughout the rest of season three, which I thought started off quite strong.

I really like the last two seasons, aside from the fetch the crystal in Season 2. It needs more shadow. He's been sideline like Luigi in the Mario movie.
When Sonic and Nine fell into the prism chamber at the end of episode 6 I thought we were gonna get a super v super fight. This season needed a bigger climax to end on.
The fighting should have ended with episode 4 or 5. Then focus on the characters, let them breathe, let them interact, let us enjoy them. Then use an episode to have Nine earn his redemption, then deal with the fact that these characters now has to return to their own world and hone in on the bittersweet feeling of that and saying goodbye. And then let the last episode be Sonic back in his world, allow us to see him truly appreciate the friends he has, let him have a short private, meaningful moment with each of them - let Shadow have a moment with Rouge and their friendship too btw. Yeah, too bad it didn’t stick the landing. I am all for some good action, but the characters are what I love the most and always want more of.
The last season was just a dragged out conflict, for like 3 or 4 episodes maybe even more, it was just Nine's army winning, then the Resistance does something to turn the odds in their favor, then Nines like "more power" then hes winning again and the cycle repeats. Edit: I made this comment before watching the vid but Im glad I wasnt the only one who noticed the robots coming back multiple times.
Can't forget Nines ultra secret souped up weapon ... a Big the cat robot that shot "Froggy missiles" ... OK, that's kinda funny but they made that thing out like he was about to summon Exodia or something
At least Sonic X brought Dark Sonic,Prime didn’t and Prime didn’t bring the return of Prismatic Sonic for season 3 after bringing it in season 2 and after they will start giving excuses on why it wasn’t involved in season 3
I honestly ended up liking season 3 more during a re-watch cos the context of what was happening as a result of each wave and the overall plan Sonic and Co. had to win the fight made it much more enjoyable. Got to sit back and properly admire the kickass animation and character moments when they happened. It's such a gorgeously made show it's such a shame to kick it down due to ending issues. It's entertainment, and all the best parts from season 1 to 3 made it a good experience personally to me regardless of the quick ending. Shout out to the well made 3d models, crazy animation and gorgeous lighting/compositing. Such a treat to the eye
Yeah. I found I liked it more on the second watch too. I thinking we all where wanting it to end in the way we wanted instead of just enjoying it. Wich that enjoyment is mostly going to be for a younger audience who want a lot of action. Like kids who like watching dragon ball and Long drawn out fighting are a thing. 🫡

I think the story would've been better served by spending a little more time on the resolution of the emotional conflict between Sonic and Nine. I really like the note Sonic and Nine left on, but it was really abrupt so the resolution of the arc feels somewhat unearned. There could've been more build-up where Sonic realizes how he was wrong to actually earn the moment. Additionally, more conflict around the Paradox Prism would've been fun. Maybe the resolution of Dread's arc could've been a little longer and/or the Eggmen could've had a longer segment where they gain control over the Prism at the end for a hype final battle to take away from robot fights a bit. On a more storytelling/worldbuilding basis, the implication that the Shatterspaces can just continue to exist is lame as hell. I think it would've been fun if the Shatterspaces needed to be re-fused into the original world, and Sonic had to grapple with the fact that these worlds wouldn't exist anymore if he wanted to bring back his own world. It always felt like that was the direction the story was going, but we never touched on it. I'm not against the worlds continuing to exist because Sonic WOULD want to save every world, but it would be so fun if Sonic and Nine had to find a way to save their worlds and reform the original world as well. It literally could've just been what actually happened with the Paradox Prism at the end and they just didn't mention it, but it would've been a fun idea to have Sonic struggle to overcome this, possibly even making enemies of the variants who don't want to cease to exist. There are a lot of directions they could take it and I think its a shame it goes unmentioned.
There was a lot I liked about this season, but I do agree that the overemphasis on action and fight scenes really bogged it down. That being said, I really liked Nine as a villain in this season. He was relentless and it was really interesting seeing the potential of what if Tails used his abilities and knowledge for selfish and malicious purposes rather than good. He was almost like if you took Eggman, made him smarter and craftier, and had zero chill. Unfortunately, the fact that the other two versions of Tails, Mangey and Sails inexplicably survived out of nowhere, and the hit that one of the versions of Big took ("They're taking hits meant for me") wasn't lethal... for rating reasons really took away the stakes for me. I mean, Nine straight-up killing (or at least attempting to kill) his other variants while saying "There's only one me" was SUPER dark and really elevated him as a villain for me. There was also some other good character moments throughout the season, like Rusty Rose talking about how she's actually not emotionless and doesn't need the Flicky to power her, while then destroying the Grim version(s) of her. That really reminded me of Gamma's story from SA1 which I loved. Then later the Amys becoming "sisters" was sweet, and so on. The egg council talking about how they actually don't lose and just make tweaks and learn from their mistakes was actually a very interesting look at Eggman as a character, and Rebel Rouge's planning abilities were neat, though I agree Rouge in general was wasted and honestly I feel like she could've been written out of the show and nothing would've changed. Overall I still enjoyed it but I don't think I would enjoy Season 3 much during a rewatch. Season 1 was okay but I think Season 2 ended up being the best for sure. I'm glad we got the show even though it could've been better and I'm excited for whatever's next, like the Knuckles TV show.
Season 3 was actually very fun. If anything it was just long in the fights but that is usually what happens in a WARi story rather than rushing through it

I think Sonic prime was alright. i think i'll rewatch everything as a whole at some point. Prime had some good moments and I do like Sonic's arc. Sonic doesn't cry but you can defeintly see his exhaustion, guilt, and sadness. But the best characters are Nine and Shadow. Sonic and Shadow's interactions are near perfection. The ending just felt abrupt.

Literally season 3 was just: Sonic: “nine, this isn’t you, you’re my best friend let’s stop this together” Nine: no let’s fight *A world war starts* Sonic: “I don’t wanna fight you nine, you’re my best friend let’s stop this together” Nine: no let’s fight *the world war continues* Shadow: “Sonic he’s not your friend” Sonic: “yes he is” Nine “no I’m not let’s fight” *the world war continues* Sonic: “nine you’re my best friend let’s stop this together” Nine: ok THE END Yeah I agree with you. Literally this whole season is just going back and forth, having a war that lasts for the whole darn series, and then just resolving the whole thing in less than 2 minutes with a hammock and Sonic’s infamous “this isn’t you nine” lines. It’s like drawing a circle but instead of drawing a circle you draw a squiggly line… a *very* squiggly line. And again, it’s so repetitive. The robots appear, they defeat the robots, they come back, the heroes have an inspirational moment and defeat the robots again, they come back, the heroes have ANOTHER inspirational moment and defeat them, but uh oh look they’re back AGAIN! *WHO WOULD’VE SEEN THAT COMING?!* Overall I give the season a VERY GENEROUS 5.8/10. The only things carrying this are the animation (WHICH IS THE BEST PART), Shadow, and the cool scenes. Sonic was so weak and naive, Nine felt like wasted potential, especially since he literally ruled the universe and all he could do was spawn robots?! Shadow was cool but was unfortunately pushed to the side, the story went to go jump off a cliff, the Chaos Council was so infuriating, and so much more. It left me with more questions than answers. It makes me sad too, because I stayed up until 3 am because I was hyped to watch this as soon as it came out. It had the potential to be the best Sonic show ever, especially with how they set up the end of season 2. TLDR: NINE! THIS ISN’T YOU, YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND! WE CAN STOP THIS, TOGETHER! __________________________ However, I rate the show as a whole a 6-7/10. It’s a mixed bag. Dang, I feel kind of weird because I liked season 3 and thought it was a satisfying conclusion to the shows: granted, I walked into this entire series remembering the target demographic is generally towards kids so my expectations weren't exceptionally high. Overall, I did have fun😊
5:50 I think the reason why Rouge (and her other counterpounts) are as boring and bland compared to the other characters is the fact that she's only in the show to make a better male to female ratio, not to actually do cool shit with her character, so the writers didn't care about her that much. Just speculation tho.
I really love this season, the fights were great, characters interactions and moments. The pacing wasn’t really the issue for me, I had fun all the way through. The ending isn’t really an issue ethier. Even if it does feel a little rushed and somewhat disappointing, I still love the show a lot. To me this is the best show, better than x, boom, adventure. It’s just pack with action, comedy, and great character interactions. Nine was a great villain, and I loved the dynamic between Sonic and Nine. It’s just crazy for me to see people say it’s garbage or it’s the worst show, just because of pacing and how it ended. It’s not perfect but it’s still great to watch. I can’t see how you can see all those great moments in the show and say it’s trash. For in my opinion It’s an 8 out of 10 OVERALL. I can definitely rewatch this but I can see why people don’t like parts of it but it’s not garbage. But that’s just me
My biggest dissapointment was Nine's redemption. Like, in one scene he acted completely insane and in the next he was sorry and looked guilty. I get it that they had limited time to show his redemption arc but I feel that it still could have been done better.
For me episode 1-3 was peak and then the whole thing lost me, I thought nine was great and I loved what they did with him until the final episode where they just redeem him so quickly and that ENDING.
This isn't you Fadel 😔 But nah for real, season 3 was so repetitive and nonsensical, I wasn't uninterested per say, but definitely disappointed after the highs of season 2. It would have been a lot better if they waited until Nine made more progress in his transformation of the Grim and had a more diverse and interesting collection of robots and inventions to go along with it, something powerful enough to warrant bringing back Prime Sonic's transformation. But no, it was just a meaningless song and dance of generic robot battles in a generic wasteland with an unsatisfying ending. I didn't hate season 3 necessarily since it had some good character moments with Shadow, the Amy sisters, the jungle Tails, etc and the buildup from the first couple episodes was decently enjoyable, but it was definitely a letdown overall and characters like Sonic and the Chaos Council stuck out like a sore thumb as being annoying. Man.
Oh yeah and wasn't there super sonic concept art this season had so much potential. Imagine if Shadow found the green emerald and they had to look for the rest to stop Nine with the shard at full power
(Uh oh, it's LONG![pause]) I watched every season of Sonic Prime on release with my sister, and I just loved it. However, the third season has so many missed opportunities. From an unironic standpoint, my favorite part of the entire season was the ultimatum (the part of the final episode right before the end where all the characters help Sonic to Green Hill) and the sprite animation, just cause it was funny to watch. POSITIVES Somethings I loved about this season were the character dynamics and animation. Every character, while not fully realized, were very fun and cool. Knux, the Roses, Sails, Mangey, and Nine are some of my favorite characters. As for the animation, it's Sonic Prime. That's all I have to say. However, I will say they stepped up their game from last season, which stepped up their game from the season prior. My favorite plot point, though, was when Sails and Mangey "died". How they died and the reaction to it is taken so seriously that you really don't expect them to come back (which they do, but I'll get to that). Plus, Sonic got so angry. I was like "oh man, he's gonna kill him." He doesn't. I mean, after this point, he no longer sympathizes with him (or at least the way he used to), but like... you're not even gonna punch him? At least Knux did that. Another highlight was Shadow. Don't even have to explain it. Also, unpopular opinion, I like the Egg Council. They're very eh, but like the type of eh that makes me appreciate their tenacity. I also like the part of season 3 where Sonic asks them how they handle losing so much, and they're all like "Oh, they're just setbacks. We learn and grow, and try again." That was sweet, and a cool perspective into Eggman's schemes. Overall, they are annoying, but they are very cool personally to me. NEGATIVES Now, one thing I disliked about this show was the pacing and the repetition. Everything feels too slow, but also too fast? I don't know how to explain it. Basically, its like a long graduation speech. You don't know when its gonna end, but when it does, you're like "...that's it? THAT WAS JUST THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN!" Also, no Prism Sonic? Like, not even a flashback? That's stinky. I would've LOVED to see Prism Sonic again. Even if it was the EXACT SAME appearance with no changes, that would've been better than nothing. SPEAKING OF... in the third episode (I think), Shadow finds a chaos emerald. They never did anything with that. I mean, I get why, it's just a way for Shadow to be able to have his chaos powers, but like... why show it at that point? I know this has nothing to do with season 3, but like... shut up. I don't know... was kinda hoping they stayed dead. Not because I dislike them, but because that would've been interesting... TL;DR/OVERALL REVIEW Sonic Prime, as a whole, feels weird. It's cool and fun, but it's not very consistent. I loved it personally, and enjoyed it a lot, but it's dissatisfying. Sonic Prime season 3 however... is an even weirder case. It's not the worst thing... except it is, but it's not egregious, and did have its moments. Overall, a lot of missed potential, ups and downs, and all arounds. I love Sonic Prime, but I like Sonic Prime Season 3. EDIT: Also, my sister brought this up while watching, but I kinda wanna know what it's like to write an episode or a season of Sonic Prime. I finished watching this yesterday and told myself "Yeah that is pretty much what I was expecting from the finale", but then the next day I started really thinking about things and yeah, this finale is not the best thing in the world. The never ending robot waves were so damn boring, Sonic was always trying to get Nine to change despite he clearly not wanting to stop and hurting the other characters, only for then to have a random change of heart at the end. And also the prism Super Form, I actually had completely forgot about that, now I'm really sad they didn't do anything with it. Apart from those gripes, I was having a lot of fun watching this season, and only after I was done, did I really think about how it could've been so much better.
Sonic has so much potential as a franchise - it's so frustrating. When is Sonic going to get a 100% full great story/quality in both games and shows..?
That's what I've been saying! I really just want one really well written Sonic story. Sonic do really have a lot potential to be something great, but it just never gets there. But we may never get anything quality if everyone is content with what they have.
I'd like to see some of the alternate versions of the gang again someday idk how that'd happen but characters like Nine, Renegade Knux, Chaos Sonic, and the Rose Sisters are too fun to leave behind in this show. Even if just a throwaway line in a game or IDW or something
You know that feeling when you're fighting a boss in a game and you have to sit through repetitive unskipable-cutscenes of them powering up or phase changing and the fight drags on and on? This is what what this season feels like, but in video form. Ironically it is a video game based series but that's besides the point.

Shadow needs more time in the spotlight. Sure they did give him lots of screen time in this show compared to most sonic games. But what I want to know is where shadow went with the prism. Does that mean there are two paradox prisms? And why does shadow want to save green hill, what ties him to it?

I honestly didn’t mind the ending. I will say that I wish that it made it clearer if everything that happened was canon or not, and if it was canon, they showed and epilogue for the characters
I really just didn’t enjoy Prime. I really wanted to, but this might be my least favorite version of Sonic as a character. He shouldn’t be learning the lessons he should already be well aware of. And the show tries to be different, but there are so many in-universe oddities that make no sense. Knuckles being there and not on Angel Island with the new established rules of the franchise, Rouge should be a part of G.U.N at this point, and everyone living in Green Hill for some reason. Shadow was the best character because he had the most common sense. The story dragged way too long, and the animation was consistent but was too stretchy. Honestly Sonic was probably the most annoying character in the show besides Chaos Sonic. I’ll say this: I genuinely feel like the writers were desperately trying to connect this series with the main game continuity in terms of story and energy, but it feels oddly feels way more out of place than any other game thus far. And I genuinely don’t think that’s an over exaggeration.
Didn't watch S3 when it dropped so imagine my shock when I hop on social media and see EVERYONE hating on and disappointed in S3. It's a real shame that they weren't able to keep the energy and sorta overall hype that they had in S1 and especially in S2, but I do hope they're able to learn from these criticisms and then go on to make another sonic show or anime that's a complete banger
I remember seeing that first image teaser for this show of sonic in New Yoke and thinking “oh wow so this is gonna be that trope of character A in put into a world/timeline where they never existed and because of that the villain won so they have to go rally the main cast and explain what’s going on to fight and restore things” And I mean we got that for like 2 episodes before they went full multiverse and it’s just like, why couldn’t they focus it centrally on new yoke and do that and also keep eggman as one person
I feel like if you kept the first two or three episodes about the same (minor tweaks with pacing) and cut a lot of the robot fights from the remaining episodes (still include the character conclusions), they could have definitely had added in other moments (like a more extensive fight between Sonic (maybe Shadow) and Nine, a more final form for Sonic (whether it be during a fight or have to be how the shatterverse gets restored and they could still keep the concept of Sonic fading away), and more of a chance for the OG cast to get to interact a bit longer at the very end to make it feel like the whole series gets a proper conclusion) to make it feel more finale like and not make the season feel like it is dragging on. It leaves us to wonder what the final season could have been like if they just made these adjustments.
Technically the show is canon, however it's so insignificant to the rest of the Canon that it essentially doesn't matter lol, when Sonic and shadow get back to green hill what was for them a whole ass adventure, for the other characters was LITERALLY the blink of an eye, by all technically sonic prime more or less takes place over the course of one day, that's it, cus all the other multiverse stuff gets equaled out when the prism is stabilized, as for when it takes place in the Canon it was confirmed some place after advance 3, which again considering it was a one day event it could really be placed anywhere comfortably, that's why it being Canon doesn't really bother me that much lol
Honestly, I enjoyed this season for what it was. Definitely the worst out of them all but I can't really call it bad. It's just okay to me. And I guess that's the difference because I wasn't really all the high on the seasons before it. There's a lot about it I enjoy a lot, and there's stuff that's clearly just bad. You could easily tell when the writers had to randomly put in an excuse to keep the story going. What I will say is I wish Nine actually decided to fight himself towards the end using Prism's powers. It would've made Sonic using the Prism possible, we could see Nine actually interact with the other characters as he beats them up, AND Sonic can actually beat him up before he hits him with the "ITS NOT YOU NINE" spiel. It's also entirely possible Sega would've shut this down if they didn't want to give any Tails a super form but let's ignore that annoying tidbit. There's a lot I would personally change about this season, but I think if you walk in with regular expectations you can have a bit of fun. I'm happy it's doing well. I feel like in general I have less complaints about the recent adaptations than a lot of other people do.

Especially if I am wrong in anything (regarding facts not opinions) Personally, I enjoyed it. I do agree the fight scenes were dragged on. But the trailer didn’t rlly show anything else besides fighting. So it was to be expected:3 Also, it was to be expected as the fights in the 2 batches were also dragged on in my opinion:3 Shadow being less involved should have been expected too, because the last two batches (or seasons whatever you want to call them) he shown up only in a few eps at the beginning and end:3 We have to remember that batches 1-3 were all together. Technically they are all s1 (I’m pretty sure). They’re just split it up, so possibly/probably they didn’t have time to decide this recently or they couldn’t fix anything in time after the success of the first two batches. So they probably thought it was balanced out:3 And Sonic Prime is Tv-y7(?) too, so of course it would be this way. So technically what I’m saying is. Just enjoy it. I do agree with you that it could’ve been better, but also it should be expected to end like this:3 I also agree they did repeat a lot of lines and conversations. But what you gonna do? Like Prime Sonic and game Sonic aren’t the same Sonic. They had similar events in the past. But that doesn’t mean they are in the same timeline :3 (Kinda like how after the split of IDW and Archie Sonic happened. Similar events, but ended up being two different timelines) For all we know. The games events happened for the show. While the show cannot affect the games. Like the show can be canon to its own universe while not affecting anything to the game:3

I mean...the final battle did go on for way too long, on that i can agree. But i love the character interactions, animation, and especially Shadows Performance. Honestly, if the final battle was 2 episodes MAX and instead we got more focus on Sonic saving people as their dimensions are destroyed, that would've fit a lot better. A nice epilogue showing the Shatterspace versions going back to their lives as normal would've been a better send off too.

I loved this season for the characters and their interactions, also Sonic fading/dying scene - I loved how they all took care of our hero, it was very sweet. But like… that’s it. The happy ending was pretty obvious and we all knew who would win, cause come on. There wasn’t too much surprise there. The whole season felt like a one, too long fight scene and the action got boring after a while. Had fun but not enough to watch it again 🤷🏻♀️ And it being for kids - I agree. I think most kids shows nowadays have this problem, where they treat kids like idiots. The cartoons used to be more… serious and we were fine! Sonic X or even TMNT from 2003, it used to be quite dark and it was cool. Not to sound like an old hag but they really don’t make shows like they used to…
Hey gamescage, I might do a bigger comment another time cuz i know ur busy and probably wont read ALL my thoughts on Prime. But my important one for now is Shadow. Despite what most people think, I think Shadow got a good amount of screentime, he doesnt need to interact with everyone its not his style and HE didn't need to learn a real lesson here. Now he couldve been better used for this last season but thats this season as a whole. Lets be happy Prime gave us the best Shadow we've had in years where he feels like an "Anti-Hero Sonic" Again. Also, Can we talk and nerd out about how this is I think the FIRST TIME SHADOW PUSHED HIS OWN SPEED FOR A BOOST to this level?! He's NEVER done this before and its always nice seeing more proof of "Shadow's just a bit slower than sonic these days." I just wish his rings came off.

I for real believe that, instead of stretching this out, they could’ve tied it up in a perfect little bow by just making it a Netflix movie for the end of the series. That would do wonders for the pacing also, I think. Because they lost their mind making it all pure action. Some of the best parts were the character moments, but it’s so spread out and takes so long to get to you slowly lose interest. But yeah, they relied way too heavily on action this season, and it turned into rinse and repeat until it’s time for a story moment.

I did enjoy sonic prime season 1 and 2. They had a lot of problems but I was still having a good bit of fun. Season 3 was just too repetitive. The final battle went on for WAY too long, a good few of the shatter space characters felt either pointless or had their arcs rushed like with Dreads, shadow barely being able to interact with anyone besides sonic, the constant back and for of "This isn't you nines!", I am so upset with how this show ended

Yeah, I kinda assumed nine was gonna get an actual form when they went up there. But nine just ended up not even doing anything except making robots to fight them. Someone like nine, who's done stuff himself for so long its weird to see him so reliant on robots instead of combat. Also, we never even got to see a full prismatic sonic transformation only with like a few shards
Also, I know the prism was unstable because of the lacking power but SERIOUSLY, if one share can power an entire city (new yoke) then I think all of them combined could do more. Nine spent like the entirety of its power on thousands of robots. It's weird he didn't just give up the grim walls and use it all. I'll give props though, nine did directly say at the end of s2 that using the power on yourself is risky, but nine should've just done it

I feel like the whole character debate is what made enjoying this last season of Prime difficult, because every time I was trying to watch it the stupid "Is this what the characters would actually do?" question would pop in my head and it really hindered my experience. Not only that but how long some of the season dragged on for because it didn't need to be this long.

From what I've seen on Twitter, season 3 is the culmination of every single problem I've had with Sonic Prime since season 1. Boring one-note characters with little depth, repetitive writing that makes it really frustrating to binge the show, and locations that are horribly bland and uninteresting. It is truly a shame that this show really couldn't find its footing in the end, not even for the people who have liked it since the beginning.

I think Season 3 definitely could’ve been better if the characters had something more to do that wasn’t just fighting robots over and over I would’ve love to seen Shadows interaction with the rest of the gang for example. Sonic had his cool moments, but I was frustrated at *how many times* he kept getting his ass kicked, beaten down, falling on his face, etc. and... just NOT learning from it. There were so many times where he would take a hit or fall from a high place and just land face first on the floor, even in moments where that wouldn't normally happen with his character otherwise. Even the Netflix After School channel uploaded a "Sonic Fall Counter" video and it amounted to 109 times (which is insane for a 24 episode series 💀). His stubbornness reared its ugly head in literally every aspect of his character in this series, and it's like the writers intentionally dumbed him down so he could "be more relatable to kids" when that was never an issue with Sonic prior.

Well, to tell you this, Ian Flynn has made his tweets on Twitter once Sonic Prime is over, he stated that Sonic Prime takes place some time after Sonic Advance 3(Yes, I said Some time after, not directly after it), but that's not all. He follows up that this also covers Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors, given Orbot and Cubot's appearance.
Plus, Ian Flynn also said that he's not the one to choose to make Sonic Prime canon, and he was only a Story Consultant for the show itself.
Also, the man behind the show(kinda forgot his name) made a clarification about the whole missing episode 8th situation. He stated that Episode 1 in the First Season were supposedly 2 episodes put together in 1 Episode.
Also, that cliffhanger ending for Season 3 is always meant Sonic is off to his next adventure.
8:45 I agree so hard about Nine. I think he had a good reason to want to do what he did which is why it felt so weird that Sonic just...didn't listen to him. For some reason he doesn't figure out that Nine wanted to make a plane for the two of them until he sees the palm trees in the very last episode which is why I feel like we hear the "this isn't you" line so much cuz he genuinely doesn't understand. I get that Sonic was so concerned about Green Hill that he didn't consider his perspective at first but it takes him far too long to figure that out and by the time he does he can't actually have a conversation with Nine because the show's over. They tried to have both the climatic fight and the reasoning argument at the same time but spent so much time on the fight that nothing truly feels resolved and that's a real bummer.
EDIT: Also there's a point in the fight where Sonic jokes that he fell off and "splats" which is funny but also...isn't Sonic trying to reason with him? Or is he trying to win? I think that's probably a big thing with this Sonic too, it's not even clear what Sonic actually wants to do or what the win condition is for our heroes. It's just a muddy and confused fight from start to finish.

I agree with everything you said, but there's one problem I also had with the series in general.
I felt like sonic was weak. Like, MAD weak throughout. I don't have a problem with him struggling here and there, but mans was getting washed or had to be saved in almost every fight he was in, especially when it wasn't a generic robot. And I think it may have been the worst this season. I don't remember him taking down any major robots this season and he was still getting bailed constantly.
There's no way prime sonic and game sonic, who's been fighting solo for several games against worse odds, are the same character.

I will say that while season three wasn’t the best, the other two seasons of prime were honestly pretty good. I just wish they kept that same momentum of quality, at least to me, throughout the rest of season three, which I thought started off quite strong.

When Sonic and Nine fell into the prism chamber at the end of episode 6 I thought we were gonna get a super v super fight. This season needed a bigger climax to end on.
The fighting should have ended with episode 4 or 5. Then focus on the characters, let them breathe, let them interact, let us enjoy them. Then use an episode to have Nine earn his redemption, then deal with the fact that these characters now has to return to their own world and hone in on the bittersweet feeling of that and saying goodbye.
And then let the last episode be Sonic back in his world, allow us to see him truly appreciate the friends he has, let him have a short private, meaningful moment with each of them - let Shadow have a moment with Rouge and their friendship too btw.
Yeah, too bad it didn’t stick the landing. I am all for some good action, but the characters are what I love the most and always want more of.
The last season was just a dragged out conflict, for like 3 or 4 episodes maybe even more, it was just Nine's army winning, then the Resistance does something to turn the odds in their favor, then Nines like "more power" then hes winning again and the cycle repeats.
Edit: I made this comment before watching the vid but Im glad I wasnt the only one who noticed the robots coming back multiple times.
Can't forget Nines ultra secret souped up weapon ... a Big the cat robot that shot "Froggy missiles" ... OK, that's kinda funny but they made that thing out like he was about to summon Exodia or something
Prismatic Sonic was such a missed opportunity man.

At least Sonic X brought Dark Sonic,Prime didn’t and Prime didn’t bring the return of Prismatic Sonic for season 3 after bringing it in season 2 and after they will start giving excuses on why it wasn’t involved in season 3
I honestly ended up liking season 3 more during a re-watch cos the context of what was happening as a result of each wave and the overall plan Sonic and Co. had to win the fight made it much more enjoyable. Got to sit back and properly admire the kickass animation and character moments when they happened. It's such a gorgeously made show it's such a shame to kick it down due to ending issues. It's entertainment, and all the best parts from season 1 to 3 made it a good experience personally to me regardless of the quick ending. Shout out to the well made 3d models, crazy animation and gorgeous lighting/compositing. Such a treat to the eye
Yeah. I found I liked it more on the second watch too. I thinking we all where wanting it to end in the way we wanted instead of just enjoying it. Wich that enjoyment is mostly going to be for a younger audience who want a lot of action. Like kids who like watching dragon ball and Long drawn out fighting are a thing. 🫡

I feel like they we're having a bit too much fun animating the fight scenes, and got carried away, honestly i thought i was the only that started to blank out at the robots coming back for the hundredth time

When I think back on it some of the fighting scenes which is most of the middle episodes blend together a bit but I too enjoyed season 3
I think the story would've been better served by spending a little more time on the resolution of the emotional conflict between Sonic and Nine. I really like the note Sonic and Nine left on, but it was really abrupt so the resolution of the arc feels somewhat unearned. There could've been more build-up where Sonic realizes how he was wrong to actually earn the moment.
Additionally, more conflict around the Paradox Prism would've been fun. Maybe the resolution of Dread's arc could've been a little longer and/or the Eggmen could've had a longer segment where they gain control over the Prism at the end for a hype final battle to take away from robot fights a bit.
On a more storytelling/worldbuilding basis, the implication that the Shatterspaces can just continue to exist is lame as hell. I think it would've been fun if the Shatterspaces needed to be re-fused into the original world, and Sonic had to grapple with the fact that these worlds wouldn't exist anymore if he wanted to bring back his own world. It always felt like that was the direction the story was going, but we never touched on it. I'm not against the worlds continuing to exist because Sonic WOULD want to save every world, but it would be so fun if Sonic and Nine had to find a way to save their worlds and reform the original world as well. It literally could've just been what actually happened with the Paradox Prism at the end and they just didn't mention it, but it would've been a fun idea to have Sonic struggle to overcome this, possibly even making enemies of the variants who don't want to cease to exist. There are a lot of directions they could take it and I think its a shame it goes unmentioned.
There was a lot I liked about this season, but I do agree that the overemphasis on action and fight scenes really bogged it down.
That being said, I really liked Nine as a villain in this season. He was relentless and it was really interesting seeing the potential of what if Tails used his abilities and knowledge for selfish and malicious purposes rather than good. He was almost like if you took Eggman, made him smarter and craftier, and had zero chill. Unfortunately, the fact that the other two versions of Tails, Mangey and Sails inexplicably survived out of nowhere, and the hit that one of the versions of Big took ("They're taking hits meant for me") wasn't lethal... for rating reasons really took away the stakes for me. I mean, Nine straight-up killing (or at least attempting to kill) his other variants while saying "There's only one me" was SUPER dark and really elevated him as a villain for me.
There was also some other good character moments throughout the season, like Rusty Rose talking about how she's actually not emotionless and doesn't need the Flicky to power her, while then destroying the Grim version(s) of her. That really reminded me of Gamma's story from SA1 which I loved. Then later the Amys becoming "sisters" was sweet, and so on. The egg council talking about how they actually don't lose and just make tweaks and learn from their mistakes was actually a very interesting look at Eggman as a character, and Rebel Rouge's planning abilities were neat, though I agree Rouge in general was wasted and honestly I feel like she could've been written out of the show and nothing would've changed.
Overall I still enjoyed it but I don't think I would enjoy Season 3 much during a rewatch. Season 1 was okay but I think Season 2 ended up being the best for sure. I'm glad we got the show even though it could've been better and I'm excited for whatever's next, like the Knuckles TV show.
The only thing i really like is that we finally have a good characterization of shadow

I think Sonic prime was alright. i think i'll rewatch everything as a whole at some point. Prime had some good moments and I do like Sonic's arc. Sonic doesn't cry but you can defeintly see his exhaustion, guilt, and sadness. But the best characters are Nine and Shadow. Sonic and Shadow's interactions are near perfection. The ending just felt abrupt.

Yeah I agree with you. Literally this whole season is just going back and forth, having a war that lasts for the whole darn series, and then just resolving the whole thing in less than 2 minutes with a hammock and Sonic’s infamous “this isn’t you nine” lines.
It’s like drawing a circle but instead of drawing a circle you draw a squiggly line… a *very* squiggly line.
And again, it’s so repetitive. The robots appear, they defeat the robots, they come back, the heroes have an inspirational moment and defeat the robots again, they come back, the heroes have ANOTHER inspirational moment and defeat them, but uh oh look they’re back AGAIN! *WHO WOULD’VE SEEN THAT COMING?!*
Overall I give the season a VERY GENEROUS 5.8/10. The only things carrying this are the animation (WHICH IS THE BEST PART), Shadow, and the cool scenes.
Sonic was so weak and naive, Nine felt like wasted potential, especially since he literally ruled the universe and all he could do was spawn robots?! Shadow was cool but was unfortunately pushed to the side, the story went to go jump off a cliff, the Chaos Council was so infuriating, and so much more. It left me with more questions than answers.
It makes me sad too, because I stayed up until 3 am because I was hyped to watch this as soon as it came out. It had the potential to be the best Sonic show ever, especially with how they set up the end of season 2.
TLDR: NINE! THIS ISN’T YOU, YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND! WE CAN STOP THIS, TOGETHER!

However, I rate the show as a whole a 6-7/10. It’s a mixed bag. Had some great highs, and some disappointing lows, but overall, I don’t think it outright SUCKS. It’s just good at best. I don’t care about where it is in the canon though.

Dang, I feel kind of weird because I liked season 3 and thought it was a satisfying conclusion to the shows: granted, I walked into this entire series remembering the target demographic is generally towards kids so my expectations weren't exceptionally high.
Overall, I did have fun😊

5:50 I think the reason why Rouge (and her other counterpounts) are as boring and bland compared to the other characters is the fact that she's only in the show to make a better male to female ratio, not to actually do cool shit with her character, so the writers didn't care about her that much.

I really love this season, the fights were great, characters interactions and moments. The pacing wasn’t really the issue for me, I had fun all the way through. The ending isn’t really an issue ethier. Even if it does feel a little rushed and somewhat disappointing, I still love the show a lot. To me this is the best show, better than x, boom, adventure. It’s just pack with action, comedy, and great character interactions. Nine was a great villain, and I loved the dynamic between Sonic and Nine. It’s just crazy for me to see people say it’s garbage or it’s the worst show, just because of pacing and how it ended. It’s not perfect but it’s still great to watch. I can’t see how you can see all those great moments in the show and say it’s trash. For in my opinion It’s an 8 out of 10 OVERALL. I can definitely rewatch this but I can see why people don’t like parts of it but it’s not garbage. But that’s just me

My biggest dissapointment was Nine's redemption. Like, in one scene he acted completely insane and in the next he was sorry and looked guilty. I get it that they had limited time to show his redemption arc but I feel that it still could have been done better.

For me episode 1-3 was peak and then the whole thing lost me, I thought nine was great and I loved what they did with him until the final episode where they just redeem him so quickly and that ENDING.

But nah for real, season 3 was so repetitive and nonsensical, I wasn't uninterested per say, but definitely disappointed after the highs of season 2. It would have been a lot better if they waited until Nine made more progress in his transformation of the Grim and had a more diverse and interesting collection of robots and inventions to go along with it, something powerful enough to warrant bringing back Prime Sonic's transformation. But no, it was just a meaningless song and dance of generic robot battles in a generic wasteland with an unsatisfying ending.
I didn't hate season 3 necessarily since it had some good character moments with Shadow, the Amy sisters, the jungle Tails, etc and the buildup from the first couple episodes was decently enjoyable, but it was definitely a letdown overall and characters like Sonic and the Chaos Council stuck out like a sore thumb as being annoying. Man.
Oh yeah and wasn't there super sonic concept art this season had so much potential. Imagine if Shadow found the green emerald and they had to look for the rest to stop Nine with the shard at full power

I watched every season of Sonic Prime on release with my sister, and I just loved it. However, the third season has so many missed opportunities. From an unironic standpoint, my favorite part of the entire season was the ultimatum (the part of the final episode right before the end where all the characters help Sonic to Green Hill) and the sprite animation, just cause it was funny to watch.
POSITIVES
Somethings I loved about this season were the character dynamics and animation. Every character, while not fully realized, were very fun and cool. Knux, the Roses, Sails, Mangey, and Nine are some of my favorite characters. As for the animation, it's Sonic Prime. That's all I have to say. However, I will say they stepped up their game from last season, which stepped up their game from the season prior.
My favorite plot point, though, was when Sails and Mangey "died". How they died and the reaction to it is taken so seriously that you really don't expect them to come back (which they do, but I'll get to that). Plus, Sonic got so angry. I was like "oh man, he's gonna kill him." He doesn't. I mean, after this point, he no longer sympathizes with him (or at least the way he used to), but like... you're not even gonna punch him? At least Knux did that.
Another highlight was Shadow. Don't even have to explain it.
Also, unpopular opinion, I like the Egg Council. They're very eh, but like the type of eh that makes me appreciate their tenacity. I also like the part of season 3 where Sonic asks them how they handle losing so much, and they're all like "Oh, they're just setbacks. We learn and grow, and try again." That was sweet, and a cool perspective into Eggman's schemes. Overall, they are annoying, but they are very cool personally to me.
NEGATIVES
Now, one thing I disliked about this show was the pacing and the repetition. Everything feels too slow, but also too fast? I don't know how to explain it. Basically, its like a long graduation speech. You don't know when its gonna end, but when it does, you're like "...that's it? THAT WAS JUST THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN!"
Also, no Prism Sonic? Like, not even a flashback? That's stinky. I would've LOVED to see Prism Sonic again. Even if it was the EXACT SAME appearance with no changes, that would've been better than nothing. SPEAKING OF... in the third episode (I think), Shadow finds a chaos emerald. They never did anything with that. I mean, I get why, it's just a way for Shadow to be able to have his chaos powers, but like... why show it at that point? I know this has nothing to do with season 3, but like... shut up.
Also... the ending.... I don't use superlatives or swear words often, but... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuu-nny way to end a show. Yet, it is the most unsatisfying ending I've ever seen, it's so disappointing.
EDIT: also, I forgot to mention but... yeah ... Sails and Mangey came back... I liek that, but I also don't... I don't know... was kinda hoping they stayed dead. Not because I dislike them, but because that would've been interesting...
TL;DR/OVERALL REVIEW
Sonic Prime, as a whole, feels weird. It's cool and fun, but it's not very consistent. I loved it personally, and enjoyed it a lot, but it's dissatisfying. Sonic Prime season 3 however... is an even weirder case. It's not the worst thing... except it is, but it's not egregious, and did have its moments. Overall, a lot of missed potential, ups and downs, and all arounds. I love Sonic Prime, but I like Sonic Prime Season 3.
EDIT: Also, my sister brought this up while watching, but I kinda wanna know what it's like to write an episode or a season of Sonic Prime. What's their process? Do they outline a season and then write all the episodes, do they write all the episodes together, do they only write episodes per season until it's over? I don't know, but I think that would also put a lot of things into perspective.

I finished watching this yesterday and told myself "Yeah that is pretty much what I was expecting from the finale", but then the next day I started really thinking about things and yeah, this finale is not the best thing in the world.
The never ending robot waves were so damn boring, Sonic was always trying to get Nine to change despite he clearly not wanting to stop and hurting the other characters, only for then to have a random change of heart at the end. And also the prism Super Form, I actually had completely forgot about that, now I'm really sad they didn't do anything with it.
Apart from those gripes, I was having a lot of fun watching this season, and only after I was done, did I really think about how it could've been so much better.

You know that feeling when you're fighting a boss in a game and you have to sit through repetitive unskipable-cutscenes of them powering up or phase changing and the fight drags on and on?
This is what what this season feels like, but in video form. Ironically it is a video game based series but that's besides the point.

Shadow needs more time in the spotlight. Sure they did give him lots of screen time in this show compared to most sonic games. But what I want to know is where shadow went with the prism. Does that mean there are two paradox prisms? And why does shadow want to save green hill, what ties him to it?

I honestly didn’t mind the ending. I will say that I wish that it made it clearer if everything that happened was canon or not, and if it was canon, they showed and epilogue for the characters

I really just didn’t enjoy Prime. I really wanted to, but this might be my least favorite version of Sonic as a character. He shouldn’t be learning the lessons he should already be well aware of. And the show tries to be different, but there are so many in-universe oddities that make no sense. Knuckles being there and not on Angel Island with the new established rules of the franchise, Rouge should be a part of G.U.N at this point, and everyone living in Green Hill for some reason. Shadow was the best character because he had the most common sense. The story dragged way too long, and the animation was consistent but was too stretchy. Honestly Sonic was probably the most annoying character in the show besides Chaos Sonic. I’ll say this: I genuinely feel like the writers were desperately trying to connect this series with the main game continuity in terms of story and energy, but it feels oddly feels way more out of place than any other game thus far. And I genuinely don’t think that’s an over exaggeration.

I remember seeing that first image teaser for this show of sonic in New Yoke and thinking “oh wow so this is gonna be that trope of character A in put into a world/timeline where they never existed and because of that the villain won so they have to go rally the main cast and explain what’s going on to fight and restore things”
And I mean we got that for like 2 episodes before they went full multiverse and it’s just like, why couldn’t they focus it centrally on new yoke and do that and also keep eggman as one person

I feel like if you kept the first two or three episodes about the same (minor tweaks with pacing) and cut a lot of the robot fights from the remaining episodes (still include the character conclusions), they could have definitely had added in other moments (like a more extensive fight between Sonic (maybe Shadow) and Nine, a more final form for Sonic (whether it be during a fight or have to be how the shatterverse gets restored and they could still keep the concept of Sonic fading away), and more of a chance for the OG cast to get to interact a bit longer at the very end to make it feel like the whole series gets a proper conclusion) to make it feel more finale like and not make the season feel like it is dragging on. It leaves us to wonder what the final season could have been like if they just made these adjustments.

Technically the show is canon, however it's so insignificant to the rest of the Canon that it essentially doesn't matter lol, when Sonic and shadow get back to green hill what was for them a whole ass adventure, for the other characters was LITERALLY the blink of an eye, by all technically sonic prime more or less takes place over the course of one day, that's it, cus all the other multiverse stuff gets equaled out when the prism is stabilized, as for when it takes place in the Canon it was confirmed some place after advance 3, which again considering it was a one day event it could really be placed anywhere comfortably, that's why it being Canon doesn't really bother me that much lol

Honestly, I enjoyed this season for what it was. Definitely the worst out of them all but I can't really call it bad. It's just okay to me. And I guess that's the difference because I wasn't really all the high on the seasons before it. There's a lot about it I enjoy a lot, and there's stuff that's clearly just bad. You could easily tell when the writers had to randomly put in an excuse to keep the story going.
What I will say is I wish Nine actually decided to fight himself towards the end using Prism's powers. It would've made Sonic using the Prism possible, we could see Nine actually interact with the other characters as he beats them up, AND Sonic can actually beat him up before he hits him with the "ITS NOT YOU NINE" spiel. It's also entirely possible Sega would've shut this down if they didn't want to give any Tails a super form but let's ignore that annoying tidbit. There's a lot I would personally change about this season, but I think if you walk in with regular expectations you can have a bit of fun. I'm happy it's doing well. I feel like in general I have less complaints about the recent adaptations than a lot of other people do.

@@GamesCage Yeah the more I think about it, the more cool stuff they could've done with Nine. Having an "evil" Tails isn't something we're gonna see often so the disappointment with how he ended up is real.

I didn’t watch this vid yet, but I will in a little. Let me just say this first (even if you are not specifically talking about this).
This is what I think, you are free to think whatever you want. Especially if I am wrong in anything (regarding facts not opinions)
Personally, I enjoyed it. I do agree the fight scenes were dragged on. But the trailer didn’t rlly show anything else besides fighting. So it was to be expected:3

Shadow being less involved should have been expected too, because the last two batches (or seasons whatever you want to call them) he shown up only in a few eps at the beginning and end:3
We have to remember that batches 1-3 were all together. Technically they are all s1 (I’m pretty sure). They’re just split it up, so possibly/probably they didn’t have time to decide this recently or they couldn’t fix anything in time after the success of the first two batches. So they probably thought it was balanced out:3
And Sonic Prime is Tv-y7(?) too, so of course it would be this way.
So technically what I’m saying is. Just enjoy it. I do agree with you that it could’ve been better, but also it should be expected to end like this:3

I think what could’ve (maybe) made the fights slightly better is to make the fights go into different worlds for different sceneries at least and different obstacles to face instead of just the robots and Nine:3

So just because the games are canon to Sonic prime. That doesn’t mean that Sonic Prime is canon to the games.
Meaning that the games could affect Sonic Prime and the events mentioned happened for Sonic prime.
But that doesn’t mean that the things in Sonic prime ever took place in the games.
Like Prime Sonic and game Sonic aren’t the same Sonic. They had similar events in the past. But that doesn’t mean they are in the same timeline :3
(Kinda like how after the split of IDW and Archie Sonic happened. Similar events, but ended up being two different timelines)
For all we know. The games events happened for the show. While the show cannot affect the games. Like the show can be canon to its own universe while not affecting anything to the game:3

I mean...the final battle did go on for way too long, on that i can agree.
But i love the character interactions, animation, and especially Shadows Performance.
Honestly, if the final battle was 2 episodes MAX and instead we got more focus on Sonic saving people as their dimensions are destroyed, that would've fit a lot better. A nice epilogue showing the Shatterspace versions going back to their lives as normal would've been a better send off too.
I have no idea what they were thinking with having 3 entire episodes dedicated to strictly fighting

"I Am The Ultimate Lifeform I go wherever I want!" HE NEEDS TO SAY THAT IN SONIC MOVIE 3! And not only would that connect to Sonic Prime but it would also be a reference to what he said in Sonic 06.
Sonic Prime IS ASS!!!! (Joking on the harshness but the animation and voice acting from Shadow was all things that I liked) BUT! I swear Shadow The Hedgehog is SEASON BAIT for every season. They put out episodes with him in it. Then! They SHOVE HIM AWAY. I HATE THAT. POOPY SEASON.

I loved this season for the characters and their interactions, also Sonic fading/dying scene - I loved how they all took care of our hero, it was very sweet. But like… that’s it. The happy ending was pretty obvious and we all knew who would win, cause come on. There wasn’t too much surprise there. The whole season felt like a one, too long fight scene and the action got boring after a while. Had fun but not enough to watch it again 🤷🏻♀️
And it being for kids - I agree. I think most kids shows nowadays have this problem, where they treat kids like idiots. The cartoons used to be more… serious and we were fine! Sonic X or even TMNT from 2003, it used to be quite dark and it was cool. Not to sound like an old hag but they really don’t make shows like they used to…
Hey gamescage, I might do a bigger comment another time cuz i know ur busy and probably wont read ALL my thoughts on Prime. But my important one for now is Shadow.
Despite what most people think, I think Shadow got a good amount of screentime, he doesnt need to interact with everyone its not his style and HE didn't need to learn a real lesson here. Now he couldve been better used for this last season but thats this season as a whole. Lets be happy Prime gave us the best Shadow we've had in years where he feels like an "Anti-Hero Sonic" Again.
Also, Can we talk and nerd out about how this is I think the FIRST TIME SHADOW PUSHED HIS OWN SPEED FOR A BOOST to this level?! He's NEVER done this before and its always nice seeing more proof of "Shadow's just a bit slower than sonic these days." I just wish his rings came off.
