Up here in the Canadian wilderness we have plenty of dangers (wolves, bears, cougars, wildfire, etc), but there is a distinct lack of sane women.

Beautiful countryside filled with ancient mythology. Great attitude towards nature that you have, apply and communicate. Rural Bulgaria seems to be a land that respects laws of nature. That the vast majority of the rest of the world chooses to foolishly abandon.

They would need fed a sheep a week. Beautiful dogs but only for those who can afford. I was in Sliven region late night ride on the old electric bicycle and two wolves on the road, was dark and going slow conserve battery and realised what was walking along side me opposite side road. 😂 I got moving very quickly upon realisation I could become their next meal. it is already said, but to put it in numbers, a karakachan need 10 kilograms of food per day. And it is not even worth it, because they are known to kill lone wolves, but if a pack of wolves attack, they don't stand a chance too.

@@stan3110 No, we don't... We use the Karakachan shepherd dog. The Bulgarian Shepherd is mostly used as a pet rather than a livestock guard dog. But many Bulgarians do not know that the two breeds are different. The Bulgarian Shepherd was formed on the basis of the Karakachan Shepherd, but mixed with Alabai or Caucasian Shepherds to make larger dogs than the Karakachan. But anyway, both breeds are Bulgarian and are almost the same, so we mainly use our breeds which are ideal for our climate and terrain.

I really enjoyed your video and I'll be watching more but I don't agree with spraying the crops.
There are too many natural ways of getting rid of these mole crickets without reverting to chemicals.
You should really be looking at making a pond near your crops and introducing frogs into your ecosystem, The frogs will happily devour your mole crickets and solve your problem.
Here's a list of other insects you could introduce. Several natural predators can help control mole cricket populations:
Frogs and Toads: These amphibians are known to eat mole crickets, especially during their juvenile stages.
Birds: Many species of birds, such as starlings and blackbirds, also feed on mole crickets.
Nematodes: Beneficial nematodes, particularly species like Steinernema and Heterorhabditis, can be introduced to the soil. They infect and kill mole crickets.
Ants: Some ant species may also prey on mole crickets, especially when they are in their younger stages.
Ground Beetles: These beetles can be effective predators of mole crickets and their larvae.
Using these natural predators can help manage mole cricket populations without relying on chemical pesticides. However, it's essential to ensure that any introduced species are compatible with your local ecosystem.
By using sprays of chemicals you are probably going to kill all of the wildlife in your area and really upset the balance of the ecosystem so better advice not to use chemical sprays at all.

This is a great question! I have seen them mainly in small villages in central Bulgaria but I’m sure they can be heard in small villages all across Bulgaria. As long as they are surrounded by forests / wilderness.

Interesting , however technology in the form of many NEW techniques in chemistry and physical CAN be used. Just one example is mycorrhizal fungi that form a symbiotic relationship with your plants so you can “ span the gap” … what I’m saying is it’s not like modern tech just CANT help u AT ALL… keep an open mind is all I’m saying. Best wishes .
