    I do appreciate your time in trying to teach us what you have learned I can understand your explanation of things better since you dont know what your doing lol(NO MORE THAN I DO) Because of this I can learn easier from you than someone that does flying through things so fast you have to keep backing up and watching over to understand and talking tuner talk the rest of us dont completely understand.Im not automotive dumb just efi tuner dumb. With that being said I swapped from a 1050 dominator on my BBC which I loved Switched to the kill shot and have been pleasantly surprised how well it runs out of the box just want to learn how to tweak it.(This is a mid 6 second 1/8th mile daily driver)so this system is very capable for the average person with a fast car I just wish the other guys would explain more instead of flying through things At least this video taught me what not to do good luck keep us in the know on what you learn will be watching

      Thank you. I always state I'm not a pro, but there's no reason we can't share info with each other. I wont sugar coat the issues I'm having and wont pretend I make no mistakes. I hope others are learning from my trials and errors. I'm like you... good with my hands and know a lot about cars in general but I'm new to EFI... but it's not like it's black magic. I only share a vid after hours upon hours of looking things up and viewing every video and topic related to ACES or even other EFI systems because they're all quite similar. Wife thinks I shouldn't be wasting my time... just do my own and be done with it. All I hope is that others don't blame me for things and are not insulting to me when I get something wrong. Thanks for the views. I'm glad your system is running well too.

    I set my fuel table per Tim’s instructions and mines at 72%

      Right. I've spent HOURS looking up info on this and other systems. I've seen pretty much everything Tim's done. Sadly he never states things like this, but after watching a lot of his vids... I paid really close attention and noticed he always starts at 100%... then tunes it to get it very close. If the VE map works for him across the board and the whole thing is just a bit off, then I've noticed that he adjusts the offset. I've noticed that when I was at 55%... when I adjusted the VE table, the system would add what I told it, then end up removing the 45% from the offset and so would still need to self tune to get itself correct. If you got your table right... like Tim did, and then the whole shabang needed to drop to 72% as a whole... then you probably did it right too. Mine was all kinds of wrong... the offset was pulling 45% fuel out and then asking itself to add more back in because it was too lean. That's why I think it needs to be tuned at 100% first then adjusted with the offset at the end. I'm sure yours is right then. Mine was just acting strange and this would explain it.

      Which vid of his did you follow by the way? Was it the Suburban on E85 one? I love that one... tons of info in it. I based a lot of my tuning vid on that one. Check out his "Fuel Table Offset in the Handheld" vid and you'll see. The display shows (even though he doesn't mention it) that all his VE tables started at 100%. If the whole table was off... not just a select portion, he then uses the offset on the whole table.

      @@dc10tech911 yeah that’s the one. I probably messed up as I’m still having issues. I’m new to tuning and adjusted my fuel table before I touched my ve. Maybe I should put it back to 100% then adjust my ve correctly and try that.

      @@jessejackson386 Maybe... but don't let me deter you. If your setup is running fairly well stick with what worked for you! These vids are just to provide some basic guidance. Every car is different depending on how the engine and tranny run. Again, if yours is good enough to make you happy don't mess with it just enjoy the ride. ;-)

      @dc10tech911 do you know a correction for a lean bog when blipping the throttle and going dangerously lean on deceleration. Mine goes so lean that it dies

    Having trouble going over 2900rpm. Starts going lean and misfiring runs great to that point tho

      @@oe3129 honestly it sounds like you're having fuel delivery issues. Your pump is not keeping up with the system. If it is new, then 1) maybe it's bad 2) most likely your return line is too small and causing pressure issues 3) your pressure regulator is not doing it's job. Do you have a fuel pressure sensor on it? Does it read weird when it happens?

    • @oe3129
      @oe3129 День тому

      @dc10tech911 fuel pressure is showing the correct pressure, and it doesn't drop when acceleration

      @@oe3129 well... I'm sitting on a plane getting ready to leave so won't be able to respond again for a day or two but... are you using their digital sending unit for fuel pressure or a gauge. Because I have both and they don't agree. My gauge shows rock steady but the digital pressure sensor show small changes. Maybe you are and don't realize it. Do a data log and see what it reads there... but that only works if you have a digital sending unit. Is your return line correct. I've heard of many guys not running a large enough return line that messes with the regulator. That being said... you are running a regulator yes? If not that... then spark. If you are running ignition control you should check to make sure your timing is correct or your selected AFR at those RPM ranges aren't set for a leaner condition. If AFR is set to simple in the handheld then AFR shouldn't be a problem but if you are controlling AFR in the 2D chart then it can be whatever the chart says at those ranges and that could be wrong.

      @@oe3129 a couple more thoughts. You could have an exhaust leak fwd of the 02 sensor. These systems don't like vacuum or exhaust leaks... don't like then at all!!!. Also if you've been dealing with an undiagnosed issue it might have trashed your O2 sensor. You can try turning off learning and see if that fixes it. If it does then the O2 sensor went bad. The best thing you can do is look at the learn table. Is it adding fuel in that range? If it is giving you a large rise (large positive numbers) then you definitely have a fuel pressure issue. If the increase is drastic only in that range then you have s weak pump, a bad regulator, a small return line or an obstruction of some kind.

    Anyone have a clue why my system comes out close loope to open loop anytime i come off of idle no vacuum leaks engine temp 190 no exhaust leaks afr steady 13.4 all fuel readings good but only will go in close loope at idle

    • @dc10tech911
      @dc10tech911  10 днів тому

      Intermittent in and out of closed loop is normal. You should go to open loop immediately coming out of idle then go back to closed during cruise. Have you checked that? Then it will go back to open loop going from cruise when you let go of the gas pedal. Transitions are straight from the VE table... steady operation is closed loop. If that isn't what you're seeing then... 1) bad or dirty O2 sensor. 2) bad TPS sensor or bad TPS setup/calibration. 3) Vacuum or exhaust leaks is very common with old cars. 4) your fuel pump has issues. 5) your ECU tune is bad causing bad fuel delivery during transitions

      Yeah just installed a week ago haven't had it out on a cruise yet to cold around here lol just tinkering and learning I was under the impression once up to temperature system would mostly stay In closed loope but I guess not I'm learning My fuel side seems surprisingly good compared to others I'm more concentrated on the timing table since I have the aces ignition system also connected these timing charts seem way more complicated than what they need to be 2 springs and counter weights dont have that many increments lol thanks for the response

      I can't tell from text... are you being serious? Like I've always stated... I'm not a tuner and am not trained in it. I really don't want to mess up your ride. These vids are just to help you guys get your feet under you and get your bearings in case you want to take your own risks. If you want I can try... but there's a reason the actual tuners for ACES are charging $400 for a tune. Those guys will get you rolling perfectly. I'm doing this on my own because if I told Committee (the wife) that I wanted to spend $400 more for nothing tangible... just remote tuning, I might get divorce paperwork LOL. Are they large number negatives 7-15% or small number negatives like 1-3%? If your car runs pretty well but it's just removing fuel like you say across the board then I would play with the Offset like I mentioned here. Bringing the number down from 100 little by little will get you perfect.... IF the current tune runs well. Do you need to know how to check that?

    • @chrisdaniels5673
      @chrisdaniels5673 9 днів тому +1

      @dc10tech911 I'd be down to let you look at it yeah. As far as messing it up couldn't I just save the tune I have and then you mess with a copy of it and I upload and see what it does? The number negatives are smaller now that I put it on the stock ve. I'm gonna play with the offset tomorrow morning and see what I can do for it. I watched Tim's video about doing it on the handheld. I may try to do it that way first see what happens then look at the tune see if it is any different.

      @@chrisdaniels5673 The offset is perfect for when your Self Learn Table is all in the same direction. That means the EFI is leaning or enriching everything... but not both at the same time. If you have areas that are positive numbers and areas that are negative numbers it wont help. If you lean by offsetting lean, then the positive numbers will get worse because it will need to ask for even more fuel, and if you enrichen the negatives will get worse because the Killshot will have to remove even more fuel from those zones alone. Fix the VE first, then offset. Unfortunately I don't hand out my email publicly. Do you know what Discord is? I can meet you on Discord and we can talk and screen share as well.
