At a track like California personally would not have blocked just because I know that if I could get to the top I could probably rip the wall that late in the race and keep my momentum, and depending on if you got sucker-holed or not with that package you might even be able to make the middle work

He refused to allow drivers like Tony to bully him like he had in the past. Prior to this race, Joey probably would have just given him the spot like Stewart wanted him to do, and the fact that he didn't just pull over and let Tony go is what made Stewart mad. He knew he was going to have to race Joey for position going forward. To my knowledge, the only run-ins that Joey has had with other drivers since this incident was with Morgan Shepherd and Danica Patrick in 2014, which doesn't really count since neither of them run up front consistently. Tony is really not the tough guy that everyone thinks he is. He wouldn't have confronted Carl Edwards or Ryan Newman in this manner regardless of the circumstances.

Tony is one of the few remaining people who worked their way up to the big series. I agree with what he said about the rich people who didn't have to work their way up that they need to learn what it feels like. Since Jeff Gordon retired, Tony is probably my favorite driver because of his roots and the way he came up by pure work.

Nascar's "Boys have at it" definately takes affect here. did Joey drive a little to hard, yes. did he have the right to? yes all three drivers are great at what they do and, not a fan of either of them, they all have valid oponions. It's my understanding that Logano was penalized, it's because of that that Tony was trying to get around him and then Logano wouldn't let him, ultimately slowing the two of them down. Either way though, I understand your point but racing is not about trying to get around another car by any means necessary, you get out of the way when someone is faster than you, common courtesy. To everyone saying there was nothing wrong with the block, Tony had already CLEARED the back end of Joey and Joey was pushing Tony down the racetrack, forcing him to either let off or take them both out. Thats a pretty bitchass move by Logano. That’s different than blocking, which as many people point out is something that Tony had done quite frequently.
That was just racing, though. It ended ugly, but that's all it was. Dale Earnhardt was killed in a racing incident, and unfortunately, injury/death is the risk these brave men (and Danica) take 36 weeks of the year. They know that their life could end that day. I did find Joey's comment, "That's what he gets," a little ignorant, but I think he would've been more sympathetic if he knew Denny broke his L1 vertibra. I fractured 2 vertibra in 2008, so I feel for Denny, and I don't like Hamlin.

I don't see where Tony gave Logano time to talk he just jumps on him, the bottle was all he could do to get back at being swung on because the teams broke em up, which is what every team does when the drivers start brawling.. Also Tony can't talk seeing he took out the entire field because he decided to block a car that was 20mph faster than him at the time.

Tony is one of the few remaining people who worked their way up to the big series. I agree with what he said about the rich people who didn't have to work their way up that they need to learn what it feels like. Since Jeff Gordon retired, Tony is probably my favorite driver because of his roots and the way he came up by pure work.

Lagano could have at least said something in regards to hamlin being ok etc... Either way, 1 yr. anniversary of the start of Bowyer vs. Gordon and Hamlin & Stewart vs. Lagano. It's my understanding that Logano was penalized, it's because of that that Tony was trying to get around him and then Logano wouldn't let him, ultimately slowing the two of them down. Either way though, I understand your point but racing is not about trying to get around another car by any means necessary, you get out of the way when someone is faster than you, common courtesy. I hate it when rookies get out there and piss veterans off because they want to be pricks. That's my take on it anyway.

I think it's funny how everyone bashes tony, yet majority of the haters would have re-acted the exact same way he did if they were in his shoes.
To everyone saying there was nothing wrong with the block, Tony had already CLEARED the back end of Joey and Joey was pushing Tony down the racetrack, forcing him to either let off or take them both out. Thats a pretty bitchass move by Logano. That’s different than blocking, which as many people point out is something that Tony had done quite frequently.
That was just racing, though. It ended ugly, but that's all it was. Dale Earnhardt was killed in a racing incident, and unfortunately, injury/death is the risk these brave men (and Danica) take 36 weeks of the year. They know that their life could end that day. I did find Joey's comment, "That's what he gets," a little ignorant, but I think he would've been more sympathetic if he knew Denny broke his L1 vertibra. I fractured 2 vertibra in 2008, so I feel for Denny, and I don't like Hamlin.

Ok, about ToNy I can say this...I don't particularly like him. I'm not the type of person to go off the opinions of others. I make my judgements based on what I see for myself. last year I went to qualifying day in Fontana,ca. I had pit passes. I got Jimmies & 2 other drivers autographs. Well, Tony was the only one I saw that walked by & ignored every1. Arrogance is very ugly in a person & so is picking a fight w/ someone half your age! Grow up ToNy its called racing! Go Joey, stand ur ground!
