What a treat to be last man to take a number 2 before the washrooms closed. A lot of weirdos used to hang out down there. There Gore gang used to raid the toilet paper and sell it back to patrons in need. That's how Larry D'Anni got his start.
I remember going down there to the washroom back in the day. When I think of it now as an adult. I shouldn't have gone as a kid anything could have happened
My Grandmother lived in Hamilton ..she was president of the Humane Society for animals..so I know Gore park but when I was 9 in 1959 I saw huge Christmas angels by the fountain and no one can tell me who made them or what happened to them..my Mom heard the artist was in jail for some reason, whether that is true or not ,I don't know..can anyone tell me the history of them..I have a couple of pictures..one my sister took at the time and one a blogger in Hamilton sent me from the newspaper a few years ago but no history or who made them.
I've seen this park tore up and rebuilt 4 times in my 30 years. Does the City not have something better to spend money on? Do we not have a homeless and Opioid Crises? Here is another missed opportunity by the geniuses at City Hall. Why were not roads repaired during the Shutdown! Construction workers know how to keep 6 feet difference. It was the Perfect Time! Way to go.
I remember these well. I was young and the park had a fountain. these wash rooms came in handy when you played up town. Hundreds used them.

What did they think was gonna happen? They keep saying 30 years as if that is enough time to completely destroy metal and porcelain.
Who left a record in the bathroom?
they should bring them back
Like hearing & seeing this, I wish she had told us more about the record they gave her!

Fix the stairs issue and reopen them.

Hope they're will be preserved.should be a public attractive path to visit
they would be full of needles these days.
why cant we just have the public washrooms back? we always need more and more of them but we get less and less.
I think they were a dime
