When the garrett ATX's ground balance is ON, it will definitely reduce depth. Same thing goes for all pulse induction machines with GB feature. So, it's recommended not to use it if unnecessary.

even if they were set up all perfectly it still is not a fair test as all the settings need to be exactly the same for all. And you would need a specialist from each company there to test each machine. No one machine is better its what works best for the ground your working in... :)
Id have to disagree. I hunt the div, the relic rescues and Heflin hunts. You see I only ever hear the minelab guys crying. Its usually the ctx and etrac owners. The gpx owners never have issues. I have owned two etracs at the time and I was a minelab nuthugger. Than I got the ctx. The machine has many issues. Heavy, slow, doesn't do well in iron, in trash iron it nulls even in TTF and mineralized conditions it completely falls on its face. This comparison was to show depth. let me make a example to which you responded. Lets say this test was ctx or etrac for you minelab lovers VS a garrett ace 250/350. Would a true garrett technician be able to set up a ace 250/350 vs a amature ctx user and get the depth. NO. It wouldn't happen. The minelab wold win easily. This machine the nexus is a very powerfull machine. This was not a test on which can pick up a good silver tone or accurate vdi readout. This was just a depth test. Sorry but a ctx will not even COME CLOSE to a blisstool, deeptech, golden mask, nokta fors core or gold, makro cf77 and many others. Im not saying this in argument form, im just educating. These machines are not popular "yet" in the U.S but are starting to get a good rap sheet here for people who need a machine that can punch deep through ground like culpepper, Winchester, spotsy, Shelbyville, wartrace and others. Yes the ctx is a fine machine if you want to spend 2000+ for a silver magnet but in just overall deth its not high on the chain. in terms of American machines than yes its high on the chain.
***** also this is a long shot but may I ask where you live. Id invite you to hunt culpepper with me in Va. We would have fun. Remember im not arguing, just being realistic and can show you what a really powerfull machine can do. We get civil war bullets and buttons at a incredible depth that no other machine can do
