I am really sad Mr. Braun turned out to be a bad guy. He was a nice character. And that ball drop with Kirisu at the end was crazy. Hope that when you guys have time after one of the series ends that you might be able to react to Hazbin Hotel. It is really good, not too long, and I think you guys might like it.
There was more of this stuff in the game I've never played the game but apparently from what I've heard, there is a scene in it where Braun's daughter comes back from the future in one bad route and killed i think mayuri to get revenge on Okabe for killing her father. If its true then I am a bit upset that that was not included in the anime. I should also add there are mangas that go into the backstory of Braun and Suzaha
The Makise twist is my favourite twist period. It only works if you're not overly analyzing the show and is especially effective if you binge the show. But the way it can reveal such a strong narrative twist that completely changes the show and catches you off guard despite being right there for everyone to see and making narrative sense is such a brilliant twist.
@@SnailHatan The characters think one thing and the narrative treats that one thing as a certainty. If they reverse the texts then they save Mayuri. The plot lets that sink in and always treats the lottery as the first official text. Then the plot reminds us that there was a text before they discovered they had a time machine that saved Kurisu's life. This twists the plot so that the story no longer focuses on just reversing the texts, but if they even should by using prior information to establish a new story direction. A twist. I know twists nowadays have to come out of nowhere and be a surprise but that's not the definition or required for a twist. Even then, it is a surprise to a lot of people, but also has enough support that it makes total sense. A good twist gives you all the evidence needed to notice the twist but keeps it just out of sight to then reveal the twist. As long as the story never treats the twist as something that was going to happen. If there are suspects in a group of 6 to be a traitor and it ends up being a third person from that same group, then that's a twist. Finally Okabe's face just screams 'this is a big moment that completely changes everything like a twist'. You'd need a really weird definition to not have this be a part of it.
The great thing about this "twist" is how obvious it is, yet it's so easily lost among all the confusion of the plot. It got me when I first saw the show, and again a few months later when I played the VN.
When I read de VN, I totally forgot about it and was devastated when I understood it. It all began to connect and make sense. Probably forgot because of the many things that happen and you learn about before that moment. That effect is maybe a little lost in the anime just for being shorter. But, if you watch 1 episode per week, maybe it gets you %50 of the time.
I was so engrossed in the characters and story and saving Mayuri that I had completely forgotten about the first D-mail. I distinctly remember as soon as Makise says "What was the first D-mail you sent?" and I came to the realization right with Okabe and out loud I said to myself "Oh nooos! I totally forgot. OH NOOOS!!" Lol I love this show
In the visual novel the scene with FB actually goes a bit different. Instead of driving to a private construction site to kill himself he does it right in the room and Nae sees and runs off. Later we find out that she goes on to lose her mind and become a rounder for Sern as well, despite Braun's wishes for her. In fact she's the one who ends up killing future Okabe. We learn this because after she killed him she used the Phone Wave's Time Leap function over and over again in-order to come to the past and torture young Okabe too, with the implication being that she went back in time again and again to kill Okabe until she became numb to it. It's pretty crazy, though it doesn't go anywhere and it's technically optional.
3:12 in the VN he does try to break into the locker a few times but gets caught every time and conclude it has to be convergence correcting the timeline in ways that keep the 5100 away from him, I guess the anime didn't have time to show this so had Kurisu stop him.
Okabe was simply focused on saving Mayuri and it slipped his mind that Kurisu died on the original worldline. Remember that he's been living these past few days over and over again, probably for at least a couple months in his subjective time. And Kurisu only became an important person to him through the course of his journey--the original D-mail was about seeing a stranger die in front of him, not one of his closest friends. It wouldn't have stuck in his mind after seeing Mayuri die. I think the next episode will remind y'all what the original D-mail actually was.
Correct me if I'm wrong..its my 2nd rewatch only with these guys and I've just seen what they have shown us in these videos... Here goes.. IBM IS HOW U SHIFT THROUGH WORLD LINES ?..THATS HOW U CREATE A MORE THAN 1% CHANGE?..cause what I've seen he doesn't need IBM to travel back in time..
@@jidhindharanm.p9351 Yes, this is a little different, and it's the first world line change we've seen that's not done through D-mail. Okabe needs the IBN to access SERN's secret ECHELON database, where they store all the data from their global surveillance activities. The whole reason SERN came to power was because they discovered Okabe's first D-mail in the ECHELON database. They can't finish their time machine without stealing Okabe/Daru/Kurisu's work. And they only find Okabe because they saw his D-mail. So, the only way to prevent the SERN takeover and reach 1% divergence is to delete the D-mail from their database. And for that, they need the IBN. ECHELON is the name of a real-life global surveillance system, too, btw. Look it up!
The VN got me the same as Okabe when he remembered what happened in the original world-line. I was so invested in everything and had been playing for about 12 straight hours.
@@guywithmanyname5247 Not really different (if you make the correct choices). There's just a lot more depth in the VN. Both are very good, just one medium can offer more content than the other.
@@guywithmanyname5247 I watched all of the endings. The Suzuha one is an experience, and being the first one it really shows how messed up things can get. Other than the endings, almost everything is included in the anime (I think they only practically skip Faris' section). The choices just stop the story at that point really.
They explained this already and I know they don’t read the comments, but I see a lot of people getting confused about this so I just wanted to clear it up anyways. The original D-Mail probably would not have changed anything, but SERN intercepted the first D-Mail because they have technology that can detect any viable leads into time travel. That’s why they need the 5100, because it’s not a D-Mail they have to undo: it’s the fact that SERN detected the D-Mail that needs to be changed. They only had to undo this. Undoing the other D-Mails was simply to get them back to a world line in which they had the 5100 in order to erase the original D-Mail from SERN’s system. It wasn’t Okabe’s that changed anything, Makise simply survived because SERN had an indirect hand in cancelling the conference for whatever reason (it is explained but I don’t know if that is spoilers at this point) Edit: There seem to be mixed opinions on why the conference was cancelled. Without going into why I believe it was canceled (see replies for that), we can pretty safely assume that Suzuha’s miscalculation is not the cause. Suzuha crashed when the conference would have been happening. Daru tells Okabe something along the lines of, “it is a good thing the conference was cancelled because otherwise you’d be dead from the crash,” implying that the conference would still have been cancelled even if there was no crash.
Maybe you can help with this: why does deleting the first D-Mail at *this* point in time affect anything, if SERN detected it back when it was first sent?
@@CloudMountainJurorSPOILERS Have you seen the rest of the show? If not , dont read the rest of my comment yet . SPOILERS WARNING BELOW By sending that first D-Mail, they alerted SERN, and now, SERN was aware that they were working on a time machine. Then, the raid happened, Makise and Okabe and Daru would have gotten kidnapped and they would have forced Makise somehow to work on the time-machine. Because Makise was the only one to be able to build a time machine at that time, SERN had the monopol for time machine stuff. Because of that, Daru made a scuffed Time Machine , because he didnt have Makise's brain on his side. Suzuha went back in time with that scuffed time machine and crashed into the building that the event was suposed to happen. So it cancelled the event and Makise never ended up dieing because of that, cause she died at the event but the event didnt happen this time around. Thats how I understand it. When she dies is when the event happens because Suzuha lands correctly on the building without crashing on it, she dies, and they get intercepted my SERN after that... well they probably do but its too late cause Makise is already dead. Suzuha has a better time machine because of that since Makise is dead, everybody is on a equal footing on the time machine technology.
CloudMountainJuror I’m going into spoilers here so... Let’s break this down. We’ll start with the different Attractor Fields: The Alpha Attractor Field “ends with the completion of the SERN Time Machine and the enslavement of humanity.” The Beta Attractor Field is the one in which “World War Three is fought over Makise Kurisu's Time Travel thesis.” The Steins Gate Attractor Field is “under the influence of both Alpha and Beta Attractor Fields, it does not reach the final convergent result found in either field. Since this worldline doesn't converge upon SERN's dystopia, nor World War Three, ... there was no need for Suzuha Amane to travel back to the past.” There are three main factions that are interested in time travel: -Russia (and Kurisu’s father) -SERN -Future Gadget (and the Resistance) In Alpha, SERN wins because they were able to get Kurisu’s research through the use of ECHELON. ECHELON, by the way, is SERN’s system and it is what Future Gadget needs the 5100 to destroy. If Future Gadget sabotages ECHELON, then SERN never comes to power and is never able to tamper with time. SERN cancels the conference because they learn that Kurisu is murdered from Okabe’s first D-Mail. Because the conference is cancelled, Nakabachi (and therefore Russia) never gets Kurisu’s research. In Beta, the conference happens because SERN does not have the technology in the future to prevent it. Side the conference happens, Kurisu’s research is stolen by Nakabachi and Russia wins the time race. No one really cares about Future Gadget because they aren’t doing time travel. In Steins Gate, the research is destroyed and there is no war or SERN conspiracy. To answer your question, by sabotaging ECHELON, they end up changing the future because SERN does not come to power. Since the future involves time travel, it also changes the past indirectly, resulting in Kurisu’s survival. In other words, the change being made isn’t Kurisu’s survival, it is SERN’s eventual rise to power. It’s the same as how Mayuri’s death is just the result of a larger timeline. I hope that helps
Fun fact: IN the VN, a future Nai time leaps back in time a few thousand times to stab and torture Okabe to get revenge for his involvement in her father's death. She literally plans to spend 10 years letting him live in pain and fear until she finally kills him.
@@rarewaifu Yeah, I was semi-spoiled on that art, where I had seen it before I played the game. But, I just thought it was some trolling fanart, because Nai is so adorable, why would she stab Okabe like that?

@@victorpopescu8073 jesus dude, take a chill pill. With infinite world lines you are going to find one where everyone kills someone for whatever reason. Therefore you should be hating everyone including yourself.
@@ThanatoselNyx Based on how the series works with convergence that is actually not true, and also you're point on that there are infinite world lines where something happens is invalid, because out of the characters we know from the world lines visited in the show, only Moeka was shown to kill people (excluding suzuha), and she is more than willing to kill Mayuri. That is a valid reason to hate someone and not at all an "immature" decision.
It's interesting how all the emotional stakes of everything that just happened earlier in the episode get removed once they send the D-mail from FB's phone. BUT, all that time focusing on saving Mayuri and chasing FB has distracted you from what they've been setting up from the very beginning -- and something that you can't just reverse without it costing you dearly.

Aaron is the only one with empathy here. I'm also sticking to my principles so my mind can't be changed. I'll never understand why they hate Moeka. I know how they got there and what happened, but to feel nothing for a character...
It would be great if they do the VN, but I doubt it would happen with their format. Imagine how long it would take if they upload an hour per week. Next best thing would be if they watch the endings, they exist on UA-cam without commentary. Maybe one of their patreon supporters could suggest that?
@@sineupp I doubt we'd ever see it, but one of them mentioned considering it for off camera and I wanted to encourage them to play it even if we can't see it.
To clarify, Okabe's original text message was Makise Kurisu got stabbed. Sern intercepted that message realizing it was from the future. As a result they figured out about D-mail and likely prevented the seminar from happening as they may have planned to use Makise from the start due to her fame and intellect. Because of that she never died and the worldline shifted.
I know it's been covered and everyone knows why but I loved Shane's reactions to Steins;Gate. Things just aren't the same without Shane making me laugh so much. Here's hoping he gets better and comes back soon.
Found this channel last night and been binge watching. Kinda glad y’all are finally mic’d up even though it sucks under the circumstances. I’ve been a Steins;Gate fan since 2015 and there was so many questions I had - and I played the visual novel. I’ve played it through so many times, watched the movie and this channel now, and I feel like I’m always learning something new. Thanks guys!
It's like a clock. The first "12" episodes is where they mess up with time through d-mails. The next 12 episodes are fixing those messes leading to back where they started. Right after episode 12 is where okabe first time leaped. This is different than sending d-mails because he literally reversed time! It's like when the clock hit 12 the hand started to go reverse back to the beginning fixing the mess they made. I didn't notice this in the beginning but it's so cool to think of it now. This is what makes steins;gate so good! This will always be my most favourite anime!!
To clarify, FB wrote his texts AS A WOMAN, Blind Wave. Moeka didn't just assume without reasoning. In Japanese men and women have different speeches literally, and you can guess gender of a person simply from what they say or type. Unlike Latin-based languages Japanese is not gender neutral. The mail FB sent were clearly in female speech. FB likely did this on purpose to mask his identity.
There's a weird difference between the original and the dub. In the dub Braun says "I never said I was a woman, did I?" but what he actually said was something like "Now that you can't depend on me, you're escaping to delusions?"(依存の次は現実逃避か?) because he actually did introduce himself as a woman in the game. I don't know if its a lip-synching issue with the dub, but it caused confusion.
@@milesedgeworth132Watching this reaction series is the first time I get to watch some of the dialogues in English rather than Japanese, and I've noticed several times where they totally change lines. Some are justified since they used a lot of memes oriented to Japanese culture, but some are more plot related and may even change the perception you get from a character. For instance, when Okabe travels back for the first time and finds Mayuri, at one point she realizes and tells Okabe he's time traveled, and she never said or realized that in the original Japanese version.
Suzuha’s letter is far more depressing, and a moment in the game that they rewrote this scene to avoid having to make is far darker and the most shocking moment of the game.
I wished they animated "Nae's" scenes, they were pretty dark but couldnt fit it in i suppose it really caught me off guard how SINISTER she is I spent like 10 minutes trying to piece together who was knocking on Moeka's door and who else used the time leap..
I understand why the anime skipped it as some moments of dialogue seemed unnecessarily dark. Her describing how she personally tortures Okabe in great delight was pretty messed up. That was one vindictive child.
People keep saying that they should watch Zero before watching Episode 23 onward. I could not disagree with this sentiment more. Not only would it ruin the pacing of Steins;Gate, but Zero is also a somewhat inferior show. I'm all for them eventually getting to it, but Steins;Gate absolutely works as a standalone anime. Zero is not needed.
Ah it’s so nice to not be the one that has to say this, I hate people that recommend zero before finishing the show and they’re still in every reaction no matter how many times you explain it to them ^^
I honestly feel like my watching experience was a lot better by doing it that way. The ending of 0 (one of the most beautiful/chilling endings I’ve seen in anime) and the journey that Okabe has to go through is honestly what put this series over the top at an 11/10 for me tbh. I understand that the slower buildup in 0 may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’d highly recommend doing it that way regardless. Just my opinion tho 🤷🏾♂️.
MasterPoppers It’s a bit annoying to hear, but at the same time I think that there’s no reason not to watch S;G 0 at that time. I agree that S;G 0 is inferior, but it’s not bad and most importantly it doesn’t ruin the rest of S;G. Steins;Gate absolutely works as a stand-alone series. I think most 0 advocates want to see it before 23 because it is actually Steins;Gate 0 that doesn’t work as a stand-alone season. In other words, while Steins;Gate is a complete story without Steins;Gate 0, I think you need that Steins;Gate story to encase Steins;Gate 0. That being said, I see no need for a Steins;Gate 0 reaction, but if one were to theoretically exist, I think it’d be better if it was put inside of Steins;Gate. We’ll find out soon enough what they go with and I think I’ll be happy regardless.
@@rakoonshampoo2608 I agree that Zero doesn't work as a standalone series, but the pacing of Steins;Gate would absolutely be bogged down if you shoehorned Zero into your first watching of the show.

Jeezus. I completely forgot how haunting both Moeka and Mr. Braun's death are in the show; the numerous cuts to match the heartbeats and the abrupt silence that follows after Okabe's scream are really well done. Also, I never realized that the anime seemed to have cut a lot of Mr. Braun's story; I was aware that there was one major reveal that never occurred in the anime, but I was surprised that the show didn't mention Mr. Braun's wife. Would the mods be okay with a comment going in-depth of cut content from this episode of Steins;Gate? There shouldn't be anything that contains heavy spoilers for the final episodes of the show.
I'd hold off on that kind of post until after Steins;Gate 0. And even then, you have no idea if any of the crew will want to play the VN. So don't spoil.
Okabes ability kicked in when he sent daru a text saying Christina is dead and that message accidentally went in past making the old daru aware of her death already so that was the first Dmail he sent
I think this crew should watch Dr. Stone after this show. Dr. Stone has a lot of insight on how the show is going with said characters and makes you want to follow and learn as you watch along. Also reactions are about the 5 W’s, The Who, why, when, what, how and where?!! I feel dr stone is the perfect show for this crew to react to next, with the way they like to talk and analyze each episode and figure out what may happen next...?! Gotta say this show is right up there alley.
Man i have watched the stein gate already, than watched your reaction for the first time and i really think you should react again with the first episode..because now you know so much..this going to be fun..
I'd highly recommend rewatching the series a second time because with knowledge of the ending few episodes. For example (look away if you want to rewatch) . . . It wasn't the contents of the first d-mail that mattered only that it was made. That accidental dmail would eventually lead okabe, and eventually CERN, to discover time travel. And since that's what caused suzuha to come back and suzuha's landing in the lecture hall cancelled the lecture, that dmail indirectly saved her life.
Well to be fair, the contents of the d-mail did matter. It was easily confirmable information that SERN had to check to make sure it is legitimate. A mail arrives talking about someone stabbing Makise Kurisu, 21st of July, with the sender date 28th of July. A week later, 28th of July, Makise Kurisu gets stabbed. Time traveling mail confirmed. If it were anything else like reminding Daru to buy something or whatever, it wouldn't have been easy to confirm and SERN would probably ignore this mail as a software glitch or something.
@@thomasmcgraw8778 I don't think he would have. Remember, it took the entire episode/chapter for him to figure out the blatant as hell d-mail. If he sent a d-mail that didn't change anything and didn't trigger RS (remember Kurisu's experiments with numerous d-mails, Daru's attempt to win the Faris cup, inconsequential d-mails happen quite often) he never would have figured it out. Even if it did trigger RS it would just be a moment of disorientation for him, nothing significant would've changed (nothing near a diserted street and "crashed satelite").
@@IHasIdea I could make the case otherwise based on his mad scientist persona and all it would take is daru saying something like I got that ext a week ago to get him to start down that rabbit hole. but no matter what it's all inconsequential head canon. Both guesses are well educated and I could see it both ways.
Reading Steiner activating on its own at the start of that chapter was unsettling as fuck. They play on the same effect a couple times in Zero and it feels just as creepy to have someone else play with the timeline.
i played sg elite, braun didnt shoot moeka after making it clear he wanted to protect her by leaving her out, he just killed himself after knowing he betrayed suzuha and then someone comes for revenge xD that was crazy shit
There's an ova & a movie as well for the complete series of this Alpha Timeline in Steins;Gate. The zero is another timeline so that could be skipped or procrastinated but I'd suggest getting the ova & movie done as well.
Sern can control the future because they have time travel technology. They got this technology by studying the first d-mail. Okabe sent a massage to the past, about Makise being dead. Sern found that mail, ad studied it, and that's how they knew how to make time machines, and used those time machines to control the future. Suzuha went in time to make sure Okabe get the IBN, because using this IBN he can hack Sern and remove the massage he sent from thier database, thus preventing them from learning time travel technology and control the future. Sern used the time travel technology to mess with history (in one of the earlier episodes Daru says that Sern created the internet, and Okabe says something like: "Really? I didn't know that). So after they messed up history, some thing were changed as a side effect. One of those things is Makise's death. Now Okabe realises that if he delete the massage from Sern database, they won't be able to time travel, and thus the timeline will return to what it was before he sent that massage, thus Makise will be dead. Hopefully that's make sense.
Actually, fun fact, a scientist at CERN (the real life organization this anime and VN presented as SERN) invented the World Wide Web and created the first website all the way back in 1989. It's not a thing the creators of the story made up. Google it.
The whole alpha world-line has been made by okarin, because of that 1 d mail he sent. Sern picked up the signal of it, which made them understand how to do time travel. This set the event where Sern becomes a world power. And a world where all suzuha goes back with time machine that's kinda broken. So it will always hit that roof and that convention will always be cancelled. Kurisu will never attend so she will never die.
I've played both VNs a few times, and honestly think the Zero anime handles a few things better than the VN. It's not a straight 10/10 like S;G but it's an easy 8 in my opinion.
Let's juat admit that the last 8 episodes of Steins;Gate 0 is better than the original series... But I still think that Steins;Gate 0 have 30 episodes and have no filler scenes, it would be a masterpiece like the original series tbh...
Yeah, Nae gets taken in by SERN and is later the one who tortures and kills future Okabe. She also uses the 2 day time leap machine over and over again, thousands of times to get her 2025 consciousness in her younger body to be the one to kill Moeka. VN Nae also witnesses Braun take his life.
The message did not have to have a direct impact on the events that led to Kurisu's death. It was the first change in history that created a new timeline. A 1% difference in the whole history caused that the chain of events went differently. Like the flutter of butterfly wings.
I really suggest everyone reads the manga about Tenouji's backstory. It's REALLY good (and fairly short). It's generally thought by the fan community that Moeka emailed FB to verify the order and he takes the chance to tell her to back down. The truth is Tenouji doesn't want it found but once it is he's afraid of what will happen to Nae if he doesn't turn it in.
Oh that shot of Nae sleeping and turn off the alarm clock... you need to play the game to understand Nae was awake the whole time. So sad. The man wanted to get Nae out of all these, but she... So sad Also I am writing this comment as a treaser, go play the game to know what's going on with Nae. In the game you get to see all the alternative endings and get more information about the story. For example, you would find out the answer to your question, "Where would the kid would have gone to if Braun stays dead?"
Playing the game after watching the anime, things surrounding this episode were probably the biggest shock. Anyone who knows the game knows what I'm talking about right? You agree, right? Man, Nae was a curveball... Unfortunate that they cut it from the anime. Robs us from seeing these guys react to that too: hey might have remembered the Kurisu part but they would have been NO WAY they could have predicted that. Seeing their reaction would have been awesome.
Nae was a MASSIVE curveball to me, her sinister smile as she tells Okabe how he'll die while slashing him and then the other one where Moeka opens the door.. jesus
The one thing I don't like about this show is how what Braun did is kinda swept under the rug. I mean it takes a LOT of time for Okaba to get past what Moeka did but what Braun did is never touched upon again. I mean even Eric who hates Moeka for killing Mayuri says "Hopefully in the new timeline everything's okay with him" he gave the order and yet he's less guilty. That's just where I'm like "I don't like that." I love damn near every other aspect of the show.
I hate the double standard as well, but I get it. Moeka is socially awkward and actually did the deed while Mr Braun is likeable and only ordered her to do it, that's why people give him a pass.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe in Japanese they use different pronouns for "I", depending on the speaker's gender. (watashi & boku) Moeka mistaking FB for a woman might be due to that.
It's not as clear cut as that. Yes, occasionally, Pronouns can be identified like that, but there are too many exceptions to make it obvious(or trick) what gender the speaker is. It's also less common to use personal Pronouns in Japanese. It was the maternal and caring way FB spoke that leaned towards thinking they were female.
I don't think they read these comments, but if they do, they should play, or at least watch a playthrough of Moeka's chapter from the VN. Her ending more "interesting" in the novel.

The best part about the twist imo is the slow realization on Okabe's face
Nothing about it is a twist. Like, _literally_ nothing at all.
@@SnailHatan The characters think one thing and the narrative treats that one thing as a certainty. If they reverse the texts then they save Mayuri.

It got me when I first saw the show, and again a few months later when I played the VN.
sineupp Those kind of twists are so cool.
OH NOOOS!!"
Lol I love this show
In the visual novel the scene with FB actually goes a bit different.
I found that scene so funny

@@Benri05 could u explain the Suzuha ending and the Faris' section?
Okabe was simply focused on saving Mayuri and it slipped his mind that Kurisu died on the original worldline. Remember that he's been living these past few days over and over again, probably for at least a couple months in his subjective time. And Kurisu only became an important person to him through the course of his journey--the original D-mail was about seeing a stranger die in front of him, not one of his closest friends. It wouldn't have stuck in his mind after seeing Mayuri die.
I think the next episode will remind y'all what the original D-mail actually was.

Look it up!

@@guywithmanyname5247 Not really different (if you make the correct choices). There's just a lot more depth in the VN. Both are very good, just one medium can offer more content than the other.

@@GrifoATK yes!
Yes me too
They explained this already and I know they don’t read the comments, but I see a lot of people getting confused about this so I just wanted to clear it up anyways.
It wasn’t Okabe’s that changed anything, Makise simply survived because SERN had an indirect hand in cancelling the conference for whatever reason (it is explained but I don’t know if that is spoilers at this point)
Edit: There seem to be mixed opinions on why the conference was cancelled.
Damn i was writing why the cancelling of the conference happened but youre right, I shouldnt , its probably spoilers.
Maybe you can help with this: why does deleting the first D-Mail at *this* point in time affect anything, if SERN detected it back when it was first sent?
@@CloudMountainJurorSPOILERS Have you seen the rest of the show? If not , dont read the rest of my comment yet .
SPOILERS WARNING BELOW
By sending that first D-Mail, they alerted SERN, and now, SERN was aware that they were working on a time machine.
We’ll start with the different Attractor Fields:
The Alpha Attractor Field “ends with the completion of the SERN Time Machine and the enslavement of humanity.”
The Beta Attractor Field is the one in which “World War Three is fought over Makise Kurisu's Time Travel thesis.”
The Steins Gate Attractor Field is “under the influence of both Alpha and Beta Attractor Fields, it does not reach the final convergent result found in either field. Since this worldline doesn't converge upon SERN's dystopia, nor World War Three, ... there was no need for Suzuha Amane to travel back to the past.”
There are three main factions that are interested in time travel:
-Russia (and Kurisu’s father)
-SERN
-Future Gadget (and the Resistance)
In Alpha, SERN wins because they were able to get Kurisu’s research through the use of ECHELON.

Okabe got sick as a child as that was when Suzuha changed things in the year 2000.
I don't think that is ever stated. It just clicked with me.
It's stated more clearly in 0, because only Beta Suzuha goes to 2000, not Alpha Suzuha
It's more that 2000 was a point of huge convergence between all the major attractor fields and it just wrecks havoc on his Reading Steiner.

There's several plot lines they had to cut for the anime, so if your interested I highly suggest checking out the original vn
If that's the case then the anime excluded crucial info on what caused the first events.

Latin-based languages are not gender neutral. English is though
Forget Okabe endlessly time leaping in a futile attempt to save Mayuri, FB shooting himself in the head is the darkest thing in this show.
Him and Suzuha
Suzuha’s letter is far more depressing, and a moment in the game that they rewrote this scene to avoid having to make is far darker and the most shocking moment of the game.
IMO the two moments that got is Suzha letters and FB shooting himself.

I spent like 10 minutes trying to piece together who was knocking on Moeka's door and who else used the time leap..

I understand why the anime skipped it as some moments of dialogue seemed unnecessarily dark. Her describing how she personally tortures Okabe in great delight was pretty messed up. That was one vindictive child.
that scene left me scarred, thanks (not really) for reminding me what Nae is
People keep saying that they should watch Zero before watching Episode 23 onward.
This is literally FACTS

I really hope for a Steins; Gate 0 reaction after all of this 😭
That would be a stupid decision. Steins Gate 0 (the anime) is terrible.
@@pinakijana9479 idk, i enjoyed S;G0. I guess it's because I didn't play VN, but guys also didn't play it, so... why not?
I've played both VNs a few times, and honestly think the Zero anime handles a few things better than the VN. It's not a straight 10/10 like S;G but it's an easy 8 in my opinion.
Pinaki Jana it’s not terrible it’s not amazing but still it’s pretty good. Definitely interesting
15:50 I think you're thinking of Zero Escape, Rick :P
My man Sigma
In the VN, in this world line, the daughter became an assassin for SERN, iirc she's the one that's going to kill future Okabe
PLEASE SOMEONE ADD MONSTER TO THE NEXT POLL!
after every episode there always like augh ahhhh
Oh that shot of Nae sleeping and turn off the alarm clock... you need to play the game to understand Nae was awake the whole time. So sad.
The man wanted to get Nae out of all these, but she... So sad
Also I am writing this comment as a treaser, go play the game to know what's going on with Nae. In the game you get to see all the alternative endings and get more information about the story. For example, you would find out the answer to your question, "Where would the kid would have gone to if Braun stays dead?"
If they rewatch the series, goddamn they would understand the concept of Time Traveling in this series...
Yeah you should probably rewatch the first couple to make things a little clearer. Also worth a whole rewatch.
Nae was a MASSIVE curveball to me, her sinister smile as she tells Okabe how he'll die while slashing him and then the other one where Moeka opens the door.. jesus
They have a soft spot for Big lovable dudes.
Thus comes my favorite mind fuck in the show lmao
I need more content with Calvin’s cat
B1, B2...
Just out of curiousity... How many of you seen Banana's in Pajamas?

Noooo I was waiting for this episode and Shane had to go :(

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe in Japanese they use different pronouns for "I", depending on the speaker's gender. (watashi & boku) Moeka mistaking FB for a woman might be due to that.
It's not as clear cut as that. Yes, occasionally, Pronouns can be identified like that, but there are too many exceptions to make it obvious(or trick) what gender the speaker is. It's also less common to use personal Pronouns in Japanese. It was the maternal and caring way FB spoke that leaned towards thinking they were female.
Ending of word→iruwa/wane/kashira=Woman word
In Japan,without doubt

K I L L M A Y U R I😂
I don't think they read these comments, but if they do, they should play, or at least watch a playthrough of Moeka's chapter from the VN. Her ending more "interesting" in the novel.
I DIDNT GET NOTIFIED FOR THIS!!! WTF UA-cam!
From what I remember I saw a comment to watch only ep 1-22 then watch steins gate 0 and then after u finished 0 go back to fisnih 23 24
I was wondering what was taking you so long to social distance. Our state was one of the first to quarantine. We did it in March through June.
