very nice project. just a note: I would suggest the polarity of the magnet is oriented correctly before the epoxy step :-0
Hey Mike, what does the polarity have to do with anything if it's just trying to grab at a metal surface? I might be missing something.
Does the bar magnet repel against the frig?

How many bottletops get caught up before they start falling off?
Good question. With the magnets I use, I have never reached that point. I usually pull the whole pile of them off before anything falls. I'd say 10+, and now I'm going to have to test that out.

I've shopped around quite a bit, but mostly from eBay and Amazon. You can find them cheapest on eBay, just look closely at the listing... lots of them come on the slow boat from China and take 30+ days to get here.
What kind of bit are you using to cut the pocket?
I believe it was a forstner bit.
Can you list the magnets you are using. The world of magnets can be a bit daunting.
