In this video I show a sped up clip of a pet damage carpet repair I did today in El Dorado Hills CA. This damage is very common and happens when a dog or cat wants out of a closed room so they dig or scratch into the carpet. Finally, one that shows pet damage instead of just "came loose at the seam". I put cardboard down underneath the door so the pet can scratch on that instead of the carpet, causing more damage, but now I know what can be done before I move out so that I don't have to pay to replace the entire carpet when it's just a tiny bit that has been ruined. HELLO!, Watched half dozen vids before hitting this one. if you have any Construction "Know how" this is the vid you want to see on how to replace a patch at doors from Pets digging at them. Great job; seam looks neat. However one thing I would like to suggest is upgrading the A Kool Glide system, it tends to be more expensive but I’ve had so much good experience with it. With nicer equipment you can charge more premium. Also, try including how you price on your videos. Great job!

Finally found a video showing me how to do exactly what I need to do. The only problem I’m having is with the tools needed. I don’t know the names of them and I’m also not sure how to use them. What was the large tool you used to just sat on the carpet and then you used the roller after the tool sat on it? And what did you need that tool for?

My daughters pet rat got loose and dug a hole in the doorway. Now I know how to replace the small piece of carpet so I don’t loose my security deposit. I just wish you listed what you were using

Can you use something cheaper than the kool glide. I have a very small hole and dont want to pay that much for it
Of course! You can use a carpet iron or even a clothing steam iron and a few wet terry towels to steam the patch and do the repair.
Can i use a regular iron to heat the adhesive?
Yes you can, just make sure to use wet Terry towels so you don't burn the carpet.

@@justsaygold First time doing it and found pressing the steam button on my iron help created more heat causing the adhesive to stick better. I appreciate the feedback thanks

What was the white bottle you used? I believe glue, what type?

But you can also use hot glue.

Did you use padding, I didn't see you add padding back, and also, what kin dof tape was that you laid down? It looked like strips of wide tape?
0:27 Is where new padding was installed. The tape used is carpet seam tape that has glue which is heated by the steam iron.
